Film Project Venture Capital Negotiation Meeting Site
This year, Film Project Venture Capital received a total of 454 project applications from 21 countries, 36 projects stood out, of which 10 were shortlisted for the "Youth Film Plan" and 6 were shortlisted for the "Youth Film Project" Projects in Production" and 4 shortlisted for "Co-production Projects". These shortlisted projects are of various types and themes, bringing together industry veterans and newcomers. Over the past three days, these works received enthusiastic response from the industry, and a total of 646 negotiation meetings were completed.
After last year’s newly established “Work In Progress” project to launch a batch of works by Chinese newcomers that have completed filming but are still in post-production, this year, SIFF PROJECT will also launch a “Co-production Project” The co-production was independently formed into a sub-unit, making the development process more difficult. With the help of Film Project Ventures, it successfully found a suitable partner.
In addition, this year, venture capital will further play the role of gathering high-quality industrial resources, increase the number of awards, and introduce more industry resources. This year, a total of nine cooperative units have set up awards in venture capital. Not only are industry leaders Tencent Pictures , Seven Impressions, Emperor Film, Wanda Pictures and Bad Monkey and other well-known film companies or director studios, but also ARRI, Tiangong Yicai , support funds for shooting equipment, sound production, lighting and coloring supported by Mo Fei Film and Video, as well as training and education opportunities provided by the Shanghai University of Science and Technology-USC Producer Class, a key project integrating culture and education in Shanghai.

As an influential film project financing event in Asia, Film Project Venture Capital has witnessed 65 films entering production in the past 13 years. The latest progress of venture capital in the past year was played at the event: the 2010 shortlisted project "Poet" ( Liu Hao ) was shortlisted for the main competition unit of the 31st Tokyo Film Festival; the 2016 shortlisted project "My Good Giraffe Friend" (Barbara) Bredero) won the Crystal Bear Award for "Best Children's Film" in the New Generation Section of the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival; the 2017 shortlisted project "Silly Love You, Silly Love Me" ( Lan Zhenglong ) won the 2019 Taipei Film Award Festival nominated for two Best Actress and Best Screenplay; "Buckwheat Crazy" (Xu Zhanxiong), which won the "Best Creative Project" in 2017, is supervised by director Chen Zhengdao, this year's judge, and has entered the post-production stage; 2018 "72 Hours in the School District Room" (Chen Xiaoming), which was shortlisted for "Projects in Production" this year, was successfully screened in the Chinese New Style section of this year's Shanghai International Film Festival and will be officially released on June 28 this year.

Today, based on the originality and creativity of the project, the jury awarded 1 "Best Young Director Project" honor among the 10 projects shortlisted for the "Youth Film Plan". The winning project is "Cadillac". The jury believes that the winner Wang Yiyu, as a young director, has demonstrated a novel and unique creative perspective and rich emotional appeal in the story of his debut feature film "Cadillac", starting from the car buying behavior of a family of four. Small and large, it shows the various contradictions of contemporary urban life. In her public statement, she used a novel story structure and clear narrative logic, which won unanimous recognition and praise from the jury. Especially the emotional expression from the perspective of a female director is simple, delicate and full of power. The jury awarded one project "Best Project in Production" among the six projects in production, and the winning project was "Lost." The jury commented: The story and audio-visual language are full of tension. In an allegorical narrative of ethical dilemmas, it conveys the unique and generous outlook on life of Tibetan culture. Full of emotion and reasonable production control. After comprehensively evaluating the potential of the project, the jury awarded one project among all the shortlisted projects the honor of "Special Recommendation by the Jury". The winning project was "Snowy Cloud". The jury's comment was: The director uses characters and Using time as a carrier, it attempts to express the beauty of the dislocation between psychological space and real space, providing an imaginative space for the presentation of new film language and aesthetics.Finally, the jury selected one of the shortlisted projects of "Film Project Venture Capital" and "Co-production Project" and awarded the "Best Creative Project" award to "A Few Gentlemen Remained". The jury believes that this is a very charming story, absurd and full of tension, with vivid characters and a very profound cultural heritage.
