Last year, the company launched the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 as a competitor to Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and now the Dimensity 9000+ will compete with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chips. The first smartphone powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ may be launched in the third quarter of 2022, the company said.

MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC adopts ARM v9 CPU architecture and adopts 4nm eight-core process. The processor tops out at 3.2GhZ compared to its predecessor’s 3.05GHz. Dimensity 9000+ has 1 Ultra Cortex-X2 core, 3 Ultra Cortex-A710 cores, and 4 Cortex-A510 cores. It supports LPDDR5X RAM at speeds up to 7500Mbps, supports 8MB L3 CPU cache and 6MB system cache, while being 20% ​​more energy efficient than LPDDR5.

MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ is equipped with Arm Mali-G710 MC10 GPU, paired with MediaTek’s fifth-generation application processor unit (APU 5.0), which provides powerful AI computing capabilities, increasing CPU speed by 5% and GPU performance by 10%.

MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ features MediaTek MiraVision 790 and supports the latest WQHD+ 144Hz display and FullHD+ display with up to 180Hz refresh rate with the help of MediaTek Smart Display Sync 2.0 technology. It can also power Wi-Fi displays with 4K displays with 60Hz refresh rates and HDR10+ support.

In terms of photography, the MediaTek Imagiq 790 function of MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ supports 320MP 18-bit HDR video recording. The chipset flaunts a 9Gpixel/s ISP that supports 4K HDR video and AI noise reduction.
