On the morning of October 20, Hu Hexiang, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the District People’s Congress, led some district people’s congress deputies to inspect the “five water management” work in our district. Members of the inspection team inspected Xinxialu West Port, Yuanmen Reservoir, Pengjiayan Flood Drainage Port, and Qiyi Lake on site, and listened to work reports from the District Construction Bureau, District Agriculture and Forestry Bureau and other departments.
Representatives of the National People's Congress who participated in the inspection put forward suggestions and opinions on the "five water management" work in our district. Everyone said that our district has historical debts in terms of flood drainage port management, sewage interception, and renovation of black and smelly water bodies. In recent years, the district government has increased its efforts in governance and achieved certain results. It is recommended that in future work, we increase investment in infrastructure, accelerate the renovation and construction of secondary and tertiary pipe networks, and strengthen the monitoring and management of water bodies, striving to achieve the goals of water purification, clean discharge, and smooth flood control as soon as possible.
Hu Hexiang emphasized that the "Five Waters Co-governance" work is a systematic project related to the overall situation. It is necessary to increase the publicity of the "Five Waters Co-governance" work; fully implement the river (lake) chief system; start from the source and strengthen the whole region Management of lakes, reservoirs, ponds, and ports; ensuring drainage during flood seasons, supply during dry seasons, and conservation during normal times. In the process of promoting the transformation of the secondary and tertiary pipe networks in the district, scientific planning should be carried out, focusing on handling drainage and sewage issues of enterprises, residential areas, and key projects, ensuring the diversion of rainwater and sewage, and establishing long-term management and governance mechanisms to ensure the separation of rainwater and sewage. The "Five Waters Co-management" work has been implemented.
