Recently, Jinan Keelung’s “Celebrating New Year with Joy” event was successfully held in Leshan Community, Ganshiqiao Street, Jinan City and Changxingli, Keelung City.
As one of the "Cloud Neighborhood" series of brand activities, this event was held in an online + offline format. Communities in both places jointly filmed a blessing video to introduce their respective New Year customs and community profiles. The short film comprehensively showcases Jinan's famous scenic spots such as Baotu Spring and Daming Lake, the modern cityscape, and characteristic folk customs such as Shanghe Drum and Yangko, Shadow Play, and Face Sculptures. Keelung captured the beautiful coastal scenery of the city, the bustling night market, and the dazzling array of specialty snacks. During the
event, Tan Xin, director of the Leshan Community Neighborhood Committee, introduced the basic situation of the community to Taiwanese friends through video and sent everyone Spring Festival blessings. Chief Changxing Li of Keelung said, "It is exciting to use the cloud to share the Spring Festival celebrations in Jinan and Keelung. I wish friends on both sides of the Taiwan Strait a happy Spring Festival and welcome everyone to visit Keelung after the epidemic." Residents of the communities in the two places have also expressed their gratitude. We wish each other New Year greetings and send blessings to each other through video.
Well-known calligraphers from the two communities used ink to write Spring Festival couplets and blessing characters, and sent blessings through the "cloud". Through the video, Leshan community residents introduced to Keelung neighbors how to make dishes such as red dates (braised pork ribs with jujubes) and colorful (scallops broccoli ), and showed sweet and sour carp , nine-turn large intestine , Jinan’s traditional delicacies such as sea cucumber and green onions. Changxing Li Limin displayed local specialties such as Taiwanese New Year dishes, steamed buns , and invited everyone to enjoy the beautiful scenery and taste the delicious food in Keelung, Taiwan. In addition, Leshan community residents made tiger beads, social fire facial makeup, Chinese knots, and danced to send everyone blessings such as "perfection" and "good health" in the Year of the Tiger. The people of Keelung Changxing performed wonderful performances such as "Temple Fair", "Hong Kong Night Rain", taiko drum "Men Should Be Strong", etc. The event ended successfully with the singing of "We Are All One Family". "My hometown is Keelung, and your hometown is Jinan. We were one family in the past, and we are still one family now...".
This event has strengthened the mutual understanding between Jinan and Keelung neighbors and enhanced the family ties between compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. During the Spring Festival, the short video "Celebrating the Chinese New Year with Happy New Year" will be played in Leshan Community and Changxing Village respectively.
