The Taiwan International Hot Air Balloon Carnival made its grand debut. The opening ceremony was held at Luye Highland at 5:30 in the morning on the 29th, attracting 10,000 people from home and abroad. 2,000 tourists attended the grand event. During the opening ceremony, Taitung County Magistrate Rao Qingling saluted with a bamboo tube passed down from the aboriginal people to signify peace. This year is the 9th year of the Taiwan International Hot Air Balloon Carnival. The 45-day-long Taiwan International Hot Air Balloon Carnival opened at the opening ceremony.
