The first thing that can be confirmed is that the current Deep Sea Ghost Z2 notebooks with different configurations have been upgraded to 144Hz screens, giving gamers the best experience.
The first thing to explain is that the Mechanical Revolution Z2 notebook uses the same mold for both high and low configurations, so there are no changes in the appearance and configuration of the product. We will not repeat it too much and focus on product upgrades.
The Mechanical Revolution Z2 notebook has a business-like appearance. The whole machine has a magnesium-aluminum casing, brushed process, fine workmanship, and a good feel.
B-side three-sided narrow bezel design has a very good visual effect. The camera is still integrated above the screen to avoid the embarrassment of the nostril camera.
The C-side palm rest has stickers from each manufacturer, and the integrated touchpad has a metal edge around it, which looks very delicate and has a good sliding feel. The official claims that this keyboard has optical switches. In actual use, the feel is somewhat similar to that of a blue switch. It has a sense of segmentation but is not particularly obvious. The i7 and i5 processors of this generation both end with H, and there is no HQ. This is probably because they have been upgraded to quad-core, so they all use H directly. The standard-voltage i7 has been upgraded with six cores and twelve threads, and the direct physical parameters have increased by 50%. It can be said that a lot of toothpaste was squeezed out at once.However, since TDP is still 45W, which is the same as the previous generation processor, if the notebook manufacturer does not open the power consumption limit, this generation of processor will easily get stuck in the power consumption wall and limit the performance.
The entire Z2 series has the same processor, which is I7-8750H.
GTX1060 6GB graphics card, GP106 core, 6GB memory (Samsung particles); the default frequency is 1405MHz, the boost frequency is 1671MHz, and the memory frequency is equivalent to 8008MHz. The core of the graphics card uses the GP106 core, with 10 groups of SM enabled for a total of 1280SP, and the video memory controller has 3 groups of 192BIT.
The memory is two Samsung DDR48G memories with a frequency of 2666MHz. Coffee Lake natively supports 2666 frequency memory and does not require overclocking.
The top-end Z2 is finally equipped with two DDR4 memories, forming dual channels and doubling the bandwidth to meet daily use and gaming needs.
Phison customized OEM solid state, PS5007 main control, PCIe3.0×4 channels, supports NVMe protocol. The Litexing T10, which has been popular for some time, also uses this main control. It is estimated that the performance will be similar to the T10. The capacity is 240GB, and Z2 has an additional M.2 interface. If you think the capacity is not enough, you can install it yourself.
Chess benchmarks. Compared with 7700HQ, the improvement of 8750H in single thread is very small, only about 7%, which is almost negligible. But multi-threaded has a direct improvement of about 50%, which is very scary. After all, the 8th generation processor has 50% more physical cores, so it is understandable that the running score has improved so much. But in actual applications, whether such a huge improvement can be achieved depends on the tuning skills of notebook manufacturers. After all, if the power consumption is restricted, no matter how many physical cores are given, it will be useless.
CINEBENCHR15 test. Similarly, presumably for the 7700HQ, the single-threaded improvement is less than 10%, which is very weak, but multi-threading directly has a huge 50% improvement.
The Phison customized OEM solid state equipped on the top model Z2 is very powerful in both reading and writing speeds, and the 4K single-thread and multi-thread performance is not bad either. In terms of performance, there is no need to upgrade. If the capacity is not enough, you can add solid state by yourself.
AIDA64 memory test, the Z2 dual-channel bandwidth has been significantly improved (basically doubling the single channel), and the memory latency is also at a normal level!
In the new 3Dmark test, compared with notebooks from other brands with basically the same configuration, the graphics card performance of the Mechanical Revolution Z2 notebook is also at a normal level.
Finally, the entertainment masters who love to hear and see are running scores. There is definitely no problem in eating chicken.
game test
For current gamers, the performance bottleneck is mainly concentrated on the graphics card, and the improvement of the processor core does not significantly increase the number of game frames. However, the 1060 graphics card has been launched for a long time, and many previous reviews have also been poor. I believe many people have an idea of its performance. Therefore, this evaluation simplifies the game testing process and only tests the performance of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (eating chicken).
The first is the image quality setting, 1080P. We set the game image quality to high special effects and turn off vertical synchronization.

heat dissipation test
As a gaming laptop, excellent heat dissipation is essential. The hardware can only determine the upper limit of its performance, while heat dissipation determines the lower limit of its performance. Let’s take a look at the heat dissipation performance of Z2.
Room temperature is 27 degrees
When the CPU is baked alone, the temperature reaches a maximum of 81 degrees, and the temperature curve is relatively stable; the CPU frequency is maintained at 2.9GHz, and the power consumption is stable at 43.33W (the notebook in my hand), which is basically equal to the TDP of the processor . For the Mechanical Revolution Z2, a thin business gaming laptop, it is still acceptable.
Single-fired GPU, through GPU-Z, it can be clearly seen that the power consumption of the GTX1060 graphics card is limited, and the frequency is only limited to 1151.5MHz. This frequency is even lower than the silent frequency! The graphics card temperature is therefore not very high, only 67 degrees.
During double baking, the CPU is further down-clocked, maintaining at 2.4GHz, and the CPU temperature reaches a maximum of 76 degrees; the TDP is only 35W, which is the same as the previous 1050ti version of Z2. The GTX1060 graphics card frequency is the same as single baking, 1151.5MHz, and the temperature is basically the same. Variety.
Compared with the GTX1050ti Z2 I tested before, the Mechanical Revolution Z2 notebook mold heat dissipation suppression 1060 has no problem. The CPU frequency and TDP are the same, and the graphics card baking frequency is similar to other brands, and the performance is even better!
I measured the noise when fully loaded, and it was 62db. The fan took off, which is a common problem in gaming notebooks. The rotating shaft is the air outlet, and the temperature was tested and the highest was 51 degrees.
Disassembly of the whole machine
The Mechanical Revolution Z2 notebook is very easy to disassemble. Remove the screws on the bottom and open the back shell, and the main components inside the whole machine can be seen at a glance. The internal structure of this fully equipped Z2 has not changed at all. The distribution of electronic components is full and very compact.
The top version is equipped with Phison OEM 240GB solid state, which also reserves an M.2 2280 SSD solid state slot. If necessary, users can upgrade by adding another solid state drive.
Samsung's DDR4 memory has a single capacity of 8GB and a frequency of 2666MHz. There are two 16GB sticks in total, which is enough for use.

The I7-8750H + 8G memory + 128G solid state + GTX1050ti graphics card I originally reviewed, with a 72% NTSC IPS high-definition screen, was priced at 7999. Later, it was upgraded to a 144Hz screen.
And the key is the hardware upgrade. The performance has not been reduced due to hardware heating and other issues, and can still maintain normal levels. This performance is very good. I personally recommend friends with budget to buy the top version of !
