After entering the engineering school for military training, I heard about the existence of college entrance examination class . With the mentality of giving it a try, I talked to my parents and they agreed. All roads lead to Rome. Maybe this narrow path can really lead to "Rome".
At that time, the official college entrance examination classes only had two majors: accounting and mechanics. I initially enrolled in the mechanical major. Later, when my father heard that the accounting major also had a college entrance examination class, he wanted to transfer me to the accounting class. He said that learning accounting is easy and decent. In the future, if you work in an office and learn mechanics, you will inevitably have to deal with iron lumps. It's covered in oil, the room is full of noise, and it's dangerous. I said, these situations you are talking about are probably from the late Qing Dynasty, and what you see are all from our backward areas. Have you seen it from developed coastal areas? I said, what I saw on TV, others were doing fully automatic and intelligent 3D printing. My father was immediately repulsed by my high-end ammunition. In fact, I was just being stubborn for a moment. I thought to myself, I prefer machinery to accounting. What is a boy’s favorite toy? Firearms, aren't firearms just machines? When I was less than a year old, you bought me guns to play with. You bought one after another. Now you actually despise machines. Besides, it doesn't matter if the seven-foot-tall man is tired.
After I came to the vocational high school, I distinguished myself in mathematics. Maybe it was because the mathematics in the vocational high school was not too difficult. I could always understand and master it quickly, and gradually gained confidence, as if I saw hope on this path, so I Be more active and active in class. Later, I got first place in several exams, but my English was slightly worse. My father and relatives kept silent about my studies. I could feel that they did not believe that I could get into college. My father would criticize me every time he saw my results, criticizing my poor English. He would even say, "It's impossible for you to pass the exam. The best you can do is get 10 points below the admission score." Moreover, every time he went home, he would come over and scold me when he was unhappy. I knew that it was the fact that I was studying in a vocational high school that made him lose face and feel extremely humiliated. Only my mother always encouraged me, supported me, and comforted me. She told me that you just have to do your best and believed that I could get into college. Perhaps these doubts and accusations gave me pressure. I turned the pressure into motivation for learning and focused on learning English.
When I was in high school, the math class representative was my roommate. He was very strange. He only studied math. He always competed with me in math. I lost several times and won several times. There is another classmate who is the best in English compared to other subjects. He always competes with me on English, and the results are mutually beneficial.Maybe it was the pressure caused by this kind of competition among peers that made me unwilling to be inferior to others and not dare to neglect. My math and English have improved.
In my senior year of high school, there were three repeat students in the class. Compared with the fresh graduates, they had better grades. I fell from first place to fourth place. After I analyzed it, I found that there was a problem mainly with my mechanical drawing department. I will never forget the complaints and teachings made to me by Teacher Yang, who taught me mechanical drawing. She said: "Do you have any objections to me? Perhaps for many secondary vocational students, it is a great honor to be admitted to a 211 university, and postgraduate entrance examination is even more unimaginable. I was no exception. Before my junior year, I had no idea of taking the postgraduate entrance examination. I just felt that it was impossible for me to reach the ceiling of graduate school. It wasn't until I learned about the basic situation of the postgraduate entrance examination in my junior year that I came up with the idea of taking the postgraduate entrance examination. Postgraduate students are divided into subject masters and professional masters. Subject masters focus on theory, so the exam content is politics, English, mathematics, and professional knowledge. Not only was it hard work, those days were like being imprisoned in the dark, the pain, boredom, and suffering, even now when I recall them, I still have lingering fears. The postgraduate entrance examination is different from the college entrance examination. There is no teacher guidance or class teacher supervision. Everything has to be done by oneself.After analysis, I thought that English was the hardest bone that I had to break, so I spent three months focusing on learning English. I always believed that "if you don't have enough talent, you have to work hard to make it up" and memorized words and grammar all day long. In the critical last three months, I started what I call the "study mode" and studied in the library from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., reviewing English in the morning, reviewing professional knowledge in the afternoon, and memorizing politics in the evening. I first memorized a vocabulary book for the postgraduate entrance examination, but I felt very awkward when doing the questions, so I memorized a book of core vocabulary for the postgraduate entrance examination, so that I memorized the words over and over again and did the questions, "唧唔唧唧", "again and again" , and gradually felt like a fish in water. I finished all the real questions, and my scores gradually improved. The same was true for the review of other subjects. I had mixed feelings and wanted to give up and give up. I suddenly felt that "many things in the world are useful without hard work." When I took the professional courses, I felt average. After taking all the subjects, I felt that it was really too difficult to take the postgraduate entrance examination. I should wait and adjust. I would like to study in a less advanced school but also as a graduate student.
The results of the preliminary examination were announced on February 16. I couldn’t believe that my score was about thirty points higher than I expected. Although the scores in English and politics were mediocre, the professional course was excellent and ranked eighth. The major I applied for admitted 23 people, and I felt confident now, even though there was still a re-examination. During that time, it was really "blue sky, white clouds, clear sky", and the air in Ya'an Yucheng was even more refreshing.
Although I have seen the dawn of victory, "A person who travels a hundred miles is only half a mile." I don’t believe in 80%, I only believe in 100%, so I try my best to make up for the remaining 20%. I picked up vocabulary books, listening materials, and professional course textbooks again, and started reciting and reviewing them over and over again. There is no chance of a do-over in life. You can only make every choice you make without regrets. Even if it is extremely painful, you must grit your teeth and persevere.
When I saw the re-examination results and total score and the words "intended to be admitted" beside them, I was first disappointed, then excited, and then a little lonely. My results in the re-examination were not ideal, and my final ranking changed from eighth in the preliminary examination to thirteenth. I guess it was because I did poorly in the interview, which made me feel a little uncomfortable, but I think I was excellent if I passed the exam.
