The men's basketball team of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering of Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences won the fourth place in the school's 2022 basketball league
(Correspondent Shen Yang Yong) From April 16 to 27, the 2022 Basketball League of Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences was successfully held at the Honghe District A basketball court. The School of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering has Li Qiang as the team leader, Zhao Yongkang (18 Mechanical Engineering) as the coach, Gao Peng (19 Mechanical and Electronic Engineering ) as the captain, Li Xu (21 Mechanical Engineering), Li Youkai (19 Robotics Engineering), Liu Yuxuan (19 Intelligent Manufacturing) and Luo Junhao (20 Robot Engineering) participated in the league with a 12-member men’s basketball team.
In the group stage, the men’s basketball team players had not yet adapted to the intensity of the competition. After losing two games, they adjusted their mentality in time, formulated careful defensive measures and offensive strategies, and quickly reversed the situation. After tenacious struggle, they continued to win. Achieved four consecutive victories, successfully advanced to the top eight with four wins and two losses, and ranked third in the group. In the following quarter-finals, we competed with the strong team from the School of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences. Based on careful analysis of the offensive characteristics of the opponent's players before the game, we adopted targeted offensive and defensive tactics and continued to win with a 10-point difference. Advantage won the game and successfully advanced to the top four. In the subsequent semi-finals and third- and fourth-place qualifying matches, they successively faced off against the stronger teams from the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering and the School of Artificial Intelligence. However, they ultimately failed due to their strength and injuries to two main players. Stopped at fourth place in the school.
Our college’s men’s basketball team won fourth place in this school basketball league among 19 teams. This is the best result in the school basketball league in the past five years. Zhao Yongkang won the title of outstanding coach.
