Therefore, he is widely respected as the "Great Wish Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva" and has become one of the four major Bodhisattvas of Chinese Buddhism.

The "eighteen levels" of hell that Buddhism refers to do not refer to the levels of hell until the eighteenth level. The hells are collectively called endless hell, which means suffering without interruption, not being able to rest for a second, and suffering forever.

The eighteen levels of hell are arranged according to the length of time of suffering and the severity of the crime and punishment. Each hell is twenty times more painful and twice as long as the previous hell (time is doubled).

The first prison uses 3750 years as one day, 30 days as one month, and 12 months as one year. The guilty must serve 10,000 years in this prison (that is, 13.5 billion years in the world). The second prison uses 7,500 human years as one day, and sinners must serve their sentences in this prison for 20,000 years (that is, 54 billion human years). The sentence in each subsequent prison will be quadrupled based on the sentence in the previous prison.

The number of the eighteen levels of hell that people usually call is correct, but the meaning is not necessarily understandable.
