This case has a usable area of about 126㎡, and it is a multi-generational residence where owners born in the 1990s live with their parents. The design requires comprehensive considerations on storage, driving, convenience of life and aesthetic balance.
Original plane
Analysis of original apartment type:
1. The functional area of the entrance is unclear, and the storage area is vague;
2. The correlation between north and south bedrooms is weak, and the dynamic lines are completely separated;
3. The entrance locations of the two south bedrooms have a great impact on the effective use area of the living room, and the actual utilization rate is reduced;
4. The main bathroom and the cloakroom have a vague functional positioning and the layout logic are unclear;
5. The restaurant is on the active line of the north and south, and the dynamic lines and the restaurant interfere with each other, resulting in poor user experience.

optimization plan:
1. A comprehensive storage wall is set up on both sides of the entrance area to expand to the north and south ends to form a complete facade;
2. A mid-island hanging sideboard is set up on the west side of the restaurant to open up the barrier between the north and south lying, forming a migration line, realizing the separation of internal and external movement and static, and the guest bathroom basin is externally placed to form a dry and wet separation pattern, which expands the basin area area compared to the original layout. ;
3. Combining the kitchen with the north balcony into a larger kitchen layout, improving the kitchen capacity;
4. Changing the entrance of the main bedroom, improving the effective utilization rate of the living room, and meeting the larger volume of sofas; compressing the original main bathroom area to form a more reasonable bathroom layout; through space borrowing, use the size to the east living room, and setting up a large-scale wardrobe cabinet; combining the drop treatment of the bathroom entrance, forming a dressing area that integrates storage and dressing table.

Incorporate the north balcony into the kitchen, expanding the size of the kitchen. Correspondingly, it is necessary to face the original structure, which causes more front and back gaps on the wall. Compared with the shortcomings above, sufficient storage and operation space is more important for residents.
The corridor on the south side of the dining side cabinet leads to the master bedroom. Through the light direction of the linear lamp and the wall lamp, a driving line ceremony is created.
