The temperature in autumn continues to drop, and the time for opening windows at home is gradually decreasing, so the safe use of gas at home should be more concerned. How to determine whether the gas is leaking? What should I do if I find a gas leak? Come and find out.
How to determine whether the gas is leaking?
sm—When you use your nose, you smell
Generally, civilian gas supply is odorized (ethyl mercaptan) to make the gas have a smell similar to rotten eggs, which makes it easy to be found and leaked. So once you notice a similar odor in your home, it may be a gas leak.
-Look at the gas meter
When there is no gas at all, check whether the numbers in the last red box of the gas meter are moved. If you move, you can determine that there is a leakage behind the gas meter valve (such as the hose, interface, etc. between the gas meter, stove and water heater connecting the gas meter).
-Spray soapy water
soap or washing powder is mixed with water to make soap liquid, and apply it in order to gas pipe , gas meter hose, cock switch and other places where gas leaks are prone to check whether gas leaks. If the soap liquid leaks, it will be blown out of foam by the leaked gas. When you see foam producing and increasing, it means that there is a leak in the part. For extremely small leak points, the results of professional testing tools shall prevail.
What should I do if I find a gas leak?
Immediately ventilate
Close the valve and report to the relevant departments to find out the cause; carry out timely repairs to the leakage area to avoid vicious accidents. It is particularly important to note that you should not turn on the exhaust fan for ventilation in a hurry, and ignore that the exhaust fan is also powered. The windows should be opened immediately for ventilation.
Do not switch any electrical appliances
The plugging of various electrical switches, plugs and sockets will produce sparks. The leaking combustible gases in the room will cause explosion after reaching a certain concentration. Therefore, you should immediately go to the outdoor switch to cut off the power supply.
Don't put on and off clothes indoors
Wearing and off clothes will produce static electricity, especially blended and nylon fabrics. Static electricity will also detonate a certain concentration of combustible gases in the air.
Do not use the phone, mobile phone
When power is on, tiny sparks may occur inside the phone, which will also cause an explosion. You should stay away from the scene before you can call for help.
What should I do if someone is gas poisoned?
Once someone is found to be gas poisoned, you should immediately open all doors and windows of the room, close the gas appliance switch, leave the room and go to the outdoor to breathe fresh air or oxygen; if you are severely ill, you will quickly get out of the poisoned environment, go to the outdoor to breathe fresh air or oxygen, and call 120 first aid as soon as possible. If you stop breathing and heartbeat, you should perform artificial respiration and external heart compression on the spot. If conditions permit, it is best to go to a hospital with a hyperbaric oxygen chamber for emergency treatment.
When using gas, you should also pay attention to these
Home configuration liquefied gas cylinder, stove, pressure reducing valve , gas hose , etc. You must purchase products that comply with relevant national regulations.
When using gas, someone must take care of it. prevents the soup from overflowing and extinguishing the flame or being blown by the wind, causing gas leakage and accidents.
Gas stove connection hose must be inspected and replaced regularly. winter hose is prone to hardening, aging, and cracking. If the tube is not stuck, is very likely to fall off and cause air leakage. At the same time, the length of the hose should not exceed 2 meters. It is recommended that users use safer and more reliable metal corrugated pipe . When using a liquefied gas cylinder, you should pay attention to using the cylinder upright and avoid violent vibrations.
If you use gas for a long time, it is easy to cause insufficient oxygen in the room. Users should open doors and windows in time to ventilate . After the liquefied gas is used, the stove switch and liquefied gas valve should be closed in time.
You should check the hose and connectors connecting the stove frequently. If finds that the hose is aging and loose, you should replace immediately; gas appliances that have exceeded the service life should be updated in time.
