Decoration is a relatively complicated, trivial and involving many details. Sometimes if you don't pay attention, it will leave regrets in the future. Many people will blindly pursue some seemingly exquisite home decoration designs when decorating, and these designs are indeed relatively novel and good-looking. However, when you actually use them, you will find that they have many unreasonable aspects and even bring trouble to life. Unnecessary trouble has come.
It is recommended that you not follow the four designs listed below. I will explain their disadvantages one by one.
1, sunken entrance hall
I first learned about the sunken entrance hall design when I watched Japanese dramas. Japanese houses will be designed with a sunken area at the entrance as a dividing line from the interior of the room. When entering the house to change shoes, Place the shoes you take off at the entrance to the high steps, then enter your home and put on your house slippers. This way, the dust or sand on the bottom of your shoes will not be brought into the house, greatly reducing the amount of daily housework. Moreover, the entrance area is equivalent to a shoe-changing stool. You don’t have to bend down when you go out to change shoes, which is really convenient.
But does this design really meet China’s national conditions?
First of all, if you want to make a sunken entrance hall, you have to ensure that there is a height difference of about 10cm. Unlike most houses in Japan, where most houses are " built in one house and ", there is no concern about floor height. The floor height of most of our commercial buildings is only about 2.8 meters. After doing this, the floor height of the entire space will be lowered, making living in it very depressing.
On the other hand, most of the entrances to residential buildings in my country are relatively narrow. If the entrance door opens from the inside, the sunken entrance hall is not useful. Moreover, many families have three or four generations living under the same roof. The height difference between the entrance and the indoor space is likely to cause the elderly or children to trip and fall if they are not careful, posing certain safety risks.
Therefore, although the sunken entrance hall seems to have many benefits, it is actually not in line with the national conditions of our country. Spending money to build such a entrance hall is undoubtedly useless, and there are certain safety risks.
2, seasoning pull basket
When cooking every day, various bottles and jars of seasonings are crowded on the table. Sometimes when you are busy cooking, you will accidentally knock over a few bottles next to you when you take the seasoning bottle. . I thought that installing a seasoning basket would solve these problems, but in fact, once the seasoning basket is not chosen correctly, it will still be very useless, even if it is a big brand.
When using a seasoning pull basket, the size and height of the seasoning bottles are particular. Because the compartments are fixed, if they are too high or the bottles are too large, they may not fit in. In the end, the seasoning bottles will still be piled on the countertop.
Secondly, the damping of some pull baskets is so good that it takes a long time to pull the cabinet door open, which is very laborious. If it's a little more violent, it's possible that all the cruet bottles inside were knocked around due to a "bump". The steel wire seasoning baskets that were popular in the past will get rusty after being used for a long time, and they can easily trap dirt and grime on a daily basis.
3, flip-up door cabinet design
When decorating, the wall cabinet adopts the flip-up door design, which does not take up space and is not easy to bump into. This design really makes the kitchen more stylish.
But who would have thought that it is easy to open the door but difficult to close it. When the door is completely turned up 90°, the handle cannot be reached to close the door, and I have to find a small stool to help. In order to make it easier to close the door, the door can often only be opened a small part, but this makes it inconvenient to find things. Over time, this place is only suitable for storing rarely used things. It is better to install a lifting basket to increase space utilization.
4, Invisible door
Invisible doors are popular among young people. Although they look very high-end and the door color blends into the wall, this kind of door often cannot withstand the test of time, and the production cost is also very high.
In terms of craftsmanship, the invisible door does not have a door frame, so the door may deform after long-term use. In addition, most invisible doors will use door closers . Because the force will be uneven, the door will be difficult to close over time.Because there is no door handle, the area where the door is frequently touched will be dirty. Generally speaking, invisible doors are a bit "flashy". They have higher requirements for hardware hinges and post-maintenance than ordinary doors. They are not very practical and cost-effective.
Summary: When decorating, appearance is important, but after all, a home is for long-term living rather than one-time use. We should consider the practicality of home design, so that we will have more peace of mind after moving in!
