If you ask a girl a question like this, her answer may be - live with her elders.
Especially for the third and fourth generations living together, they still live in commercial housing, so their homes have changed from a warm harbor to a "treat concentration camp".
Even if there is no conflict between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, family members will be in harmony, and young people and the elderly will be somewhat uncomfortable due to different work and rest hours, different living habits, and different eating habits.
What I want to introduce today is a case of three generations living together, and it is also a case of broadcasting the latest episode of " Dream Transformation Home " ~
1 Three generations living together
"Old and Big"
The client is from Wuhan, a family of 5 people, three generations live together in a house with three bedrooms and two living rooms.
Dad, 59 years old, likes to watch football, likes to write,
Mom, 55 years old, loves to cook, loves to take photos, loves to yoga,
Grandma, 85 years old, loves to walk, loves to read, loves to sing,
Although the family has a good relationship and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is harmonious, their daily routines are completely different:
Grandma, every When you get up at 4 o'clock on the day, you will have activities at home, make breakfast at 4:30, have lunch at 10 noon and dinner at 4:00 pm; when you go to bed before 9:00 pm; when you get up at 8:00 pm, have breakfast at 8:00 pm, eat breakfast at 8:00 pm, eat breakfast at 12:00 pm, and watch football games and watch TV at night; when you are entrusted, the client and his wife, get up at 6:30 every day, eat breakfast at around 7:00 pm, and get off work at 8:00 pm, and they will jump in the living room before going to bed.
They joked that their kitchen is the busiest kitchen in the community, and they have to cook eight or nine meals a day.
30s, 60s and 90s live under the same roof, but they live a life with time-difference every day.
The family has different morning, lunch and dinner times; at 9 pm, grandma is going to bed, young people may be dancing to sex; there is also diet that is not synchronized, grandma does not eat oil, mother likes to stir-fry; their perception of temperature is also different, the elderly feel that the air conditioner in the living room is too cold and not open, and young people are at a loss...
In addition to life problems, the house has also had many problems because they have lived in for a long time.
The client's family moved here in 2002, with three bedrooms, two living rooms and two bathrooms, two bedrooms facing south and one facing north.
The house is not crowded, but the apartment is a bit strange, and there are many problems:
The interior was a popular leap design back then. There were several levels of height difference from the dining room to the living room. For the elderly, there was a great safety hazard;
The original normal home entrance design was changed because the elevator was later changed, which also caused the problem of water leakage;
The study room was also demolished because of the installation of elevators, but the parents were both university teachers. Sometimes they needed to correct papers and view documents at home. Now there is no study room, which can only be done on the coffee table in the living room, which is very uncomfortable;
Although there are two bathrooms in the house, the secondary bathroom and the kitchen cannot use water at the same time, otherwise the water will flood; it is difficult to get in the water and basically it is not used.
The sound insulation in the bedroom is very poor. Not only will the family disturb each other due to different work and rest, but they can often hear some sounds from neighbors, which affects rest.
2 Breaking the original pattern

The designer Chen Bin took the lead in the design of this "old and big" this time. After visiting and understanding the requirements of the client's family, he made drastic transformations. The renovated home of
can be said to have completely subverted its previous appearance, and almost every space has been adjusted.
Original apartment
The original kitchen was changed into a porch; the kitchen was moved to the original north balcony.
The living room was changed to the young couple's master bedroom, and a corridor was separated from the original entrance door, so that they could enter the room directly when they got off work in the evening without disturbing the rest of other family members.
At the same time, in this way, the leap design steps are basically only young people walking around, reducing the safety risks of the elderly.
The original grandma's bedroom borrowed part of the original living room and converted it into a multi-functional living room. At the same time, it can better interact with the restaurant, making the traffic more reasonable.
Originally, my grandmother lived in the bedroom facing north.
In addition to the changes in the structure of the apartment, the designer also solved a series of problems that plagued the client. The client's grandmother praised him after entering the new home: This is the best house in the world!

exit the elevator. The original leaking corridor, the designer used drainage ditches and water diversion pipes to discharge all the leaking water upstairs. At the same time, green plants, benches, and storage cabinets are added, which are more suitable for daily use.
Enter the door from the elevator, and the entrance is an L-shaped one. The client has a family of five, and there will be children later. There are a lot of items to store. The designer used the entrance hall to design a large number of storage cabinets.
As soon as you enter the door, there is a window on the left and a full-body mirror on the right. Some hooks are designed next to the full-body mirror. The coat can be hung here at will.
Walking inward are shoe cabinets and shoe changing benches. Turn right, there is a storage cabinet with two walls, which is larger than the cloakroom in ordinary people’s houses! Moreover, because the entrance hall has large areas of windows that are transparent and ventilated, even if the entrance hall is a bit long, it is open and bright, without any sense of depression.
Entering from the entrance, there is a frosted glass door, which separates the indoor and outdoor space~

There are several hanging paintings hanging on the front, and the cabinet on the right side of the door hides a washing machine and a dryer, integrating storage and washing. At the same time, the placement of the washing machine is raised to take care of the elderly at home and no longer have to bend down to wash clothes.

The restaurant is made into a multi-functional form, with a Western kitchen + island table + dining table. Young people do not have to go into the kitchen to make some simple food.
Considering that family members have different eating habits and time, the designer chose a spliced dining table, which can be seated for four people in daily life. When gathering together to eat, the table on the other side of the island can be spliced together to become a large long table~
The refrigerator is hidden in the cabinet on the side. At the same time, the cabinet also has a storage function, which can put down some tableware and small appliances that are not often used.
The kitchen and the dining room are separated by glass sliding doors. Because it was originally a northern balcony, it has a good view and can have a good mood when cooking.
Next to the dining room is the living room.
Living room is a relatively free multi-functional space. Except for the fixed TV wall and partially fixed bookshelves, everything else can be freely combined.
sofas and armchairs can be arranged in combination at will. Whether parents want to watch TV, young people want to dance, or parents’ students come to their home to hold a reading party, they can be changed according to their needs.
At the same time, considering that the client may need to put a piano in the future if he has children, the bookcase adopts a partially detachable combination when designing it. At that time, the piano can be directly embedded under the bookcase.
Master bedroom is one of the favorite spaces in Benben’s whole house! I was attracted by this window in the master bedroom at a glance!
Extra large double bed, suspended design bedside table, wooden veneer, bookcase and TV cabinet combination...
In order to facilitate the different needs of the client to watch TV and jump, the TV is a movable design, which is very considerate!
The largest window in the bedroom was designed as an office area because the client and his wife were both working and studying for a doctorate, so they needed a space to study.
The space at the corner of the wall was not spared, and it was designed as a reading corner~ the armchair at the reading corner was moved away, and a walking machine was hidden on the ground~ the designer also designed a platform for mobile phones on the wall, so that he could watch videos while exercising.
Go out from the small door on the side of the office area, and there is also a small balcony, so you can relax while studying. There is also a walk-in cloakroom in the master bedroom of
, which fulfills the client's wife's small wish.
Grandma's bedroom faces south, has good lighting, and is designed to simplify it. There is no excessive decoration, which can protect the elderly from walking safety.
window sill is designed with handrails to facilitate the elderly to get up and exercise by the bed every morning.
The parents' room is separated by a wall from the grandma's room. In addition to the most basic rest function, the designer has created a small "study room" for his parents in a small room~
A set of storage cabinets are also designed in front of the window to supplement it, and can also sit or lie on it to rest and read books, free and comfortable.
The two bathrooms in the home each play different roles.
is close to the small bathroom in the master bedroom, which is more like a dressing room with a dressing room. In addition to washing and toilet, a dressing table is specially added.
The main bathroom with a larger space has been separated from wet and dryness, and the washing area is independent of the outside. There is no need to "fight for the bathroom" when you are busy. The interior of
is a toilet area and a shower area. Considering the elderly at home, they all have simple aging-friendly designs.
Among the many transformation cases of "Dream Transformation Home", this home is not the most difficult group to change, and the effect after the transformation is not amazing, but in this case, I saw many touching things.
Although the house itself has problems, it is not too bad. The biggest trouble is the differences between generations and the habits of each family member. In this case, the designer has many details that are more thoughtful than the owner:
Young people can enter the room separately from the original entrance door after work;
Each room has a TV, and they can choose their favorite programs or entertainment activities, which will not affect each other;
Chinese and Western kitchens separate to satisfy different eating habits;
allows people living in the house to live a better life, which is the meaning of design~
