After decorating, the home is full of formaldehyde pollution sources. It goes without saying how much harm the formaldehyde exceeds the standard. Anyway, you must pay attention to formaldehyde pollution after decoration!
Although the decoration of new homes is basically made of environmentally friendly materials, and it is basically ventilated for about 2-3 months. I thought there would be no formaldehyde if I couldn’t smell the odor, but if I did a test, the formaldehyde would still exceed the standard. Why is this? Because there are still misunderstandings about formaldehyde.
1. Only ventilation ≠ no formaldehyde
When there is wind, opening windows in heavy wind can indeed reduce indoor formaldehyde. However, formaldehyde evaporates for as long as 3-15 years. If the windows cannot be opened during the period, formaldehyde will continue to be released, so it is not ideal to rely solely on ventilation.
2. No odor ≠No formaldehyde
Most of the odors after decoration are caused by the excessive TVOC benzene system, and formaldehyde is a sensory irritation, so it is not accurate to judge formaldehyde by smell.
3. Environmentally friendly materials ≠ formaldehyde-free
The so-called environmentally friendly materials are not zero formaldehyde, but only means that the release amount is lower than the relevant standards, and in fact there is still formaldehyde release!
So after understanding formaldehyde treatment, it will be much smoother. There are these methods for formaldehyde treatment:
1. Industrial fan +ventilation
0 More ventilation is the most important, the purpose is to accelerate the air circulation. If the window can be opened and the industrial fan will be added together, it will be better (the fan is best to blow out the window), so that formaldehyde air can be circulated and more formaldehyde will be eliminated.
2. Activated carbon
Activated carbon belongs to a physical adsorption product, adsorbing external substances through pore-like structures. Activated carbon has strong adsorption power, but activated carbon has a saturation period. After adsorption is full, it needs to be ventilated and dried outdoors, otherwise it may cause desorption of pollutants and secondary pollution. Friends who use activated carbon remember to dry it frequently.
3. Cleaning and Treatment
Like most textiles, such as curtains, they contain a lot of formaldehyde. Because formaldehyde is soluble in water, formaldehyde can be treated through cleaning.
4. Choose an air purifier with aldehyde removal function
When choosing an air purifier, you need to have a certain understanding. Most air purifiers on the market can only purify the air and do not have the function of removing formaldehyde. When purchasing, you must look at its GCADR value, the higher the better; filter element snow is also a very important part, if you want to make the machine run better. You also need to pay attention to CCM (filter element replacement Sunday period), as the larger the value, the better.
After decorating a house, you must wait until the formaldehyde test is passed before going to live. It is best to cooperate with various methods to deal with formaldehyde, so as to ensure our own health!
