Before the article officially begins, let’s first understand what Yangjiao is.
can be simply understood as: the convex one is the positive corner, and the concave one is the negative corner. Therefore, the sun corners will only appear on the wall because the wall is uneven and will have convex corners.
The one between the wall and the ground belongs to the concave angle and should be considered as the dark angle. The treatment of the tangent corner of
is relatively simple, just use one tiles to press the other tiles. For the wall, it doesn't matter who suppresses anyone. For the dark corner between the wall and the ground, there is also the debate about "whether the wall is pressed against the ground or the ground is pressed against the wall". The treatment of
male corners is not so convenient, because no matter who presses on whom, there will be a tiles exposed on the sides. Look at the sides of the tiles, it is at least 3cm - such a thick side exposed outside will inevitably affect the visual feeling.
Therefore, the tiles on the corners need to be handled with special treatment. The most common treatment methods are begonia corners and sun corner strips. This is also what we are going to talk about today: Which one is better, Haitang Corner or Yangjiao?
Begonia corner: The construction requirements are extremely high
Although "carrots and cabbages have their own preferences", there are obviously more people who like Begonia corners than those who like Yangjiaojie . The reason is very simple: the corner of the begonia is a single battle between the tiles, and no other elements are visually introduced; the corner strips are difficult to integrate with the tiles.
So the begonia corners look much cleaner and refreshing. But the problem with begonia corners is also very obvious:
1. The edges and corners are prone to bumps. Begonia corners can be understood as "cut the edges of two adjacent tiles into 45° and splicing the two tiles together." If the edges are cut thin, they will easily be damaged.
So you have to cut it into begonia corners, instead of a simple 45° angle - the so-called begonia corners are left with the outermost 3mm uncut▼
This is a very test of the worker's cutting technology. When his hands tremble, he cut too much. What's more, the edges of the tiles are cut directly into potholes, and they are broken before they hit.
Of course, some tiles shops now also provide services for cutting begonia corners. However, it is aimed at customers who buy in large quantities. If you only buy twenty or thirty pieces of ceramic tiles, the store probably won’t be willing to cut them. (The picture below shows the worker cutting the begonia corner on the site)
store cutting the begonia corner is made by using professional machines, and the failure rate is almost zero. The emergence of this kind of equipment has allowed Haitangjiao to gradually occupy the market of Yangjiaozhao.
2. The tiles should be kept very small. After cutting the corners of the crabapple, the edges of the tiles will be thicker, and the thickness of this part of the tiles will be directly exposed after pasting them. If the gaps are left like ordinary ceramic tiles when laying tiles, the gaps at the corners of the sun will appear very large.
So this is another test for tiling workers' skills: keep the seams, because we must avoid deformation during the drying of the tiles. But it should not be kept too large to avoid being bad in appearance. It is also necessary to ensure that all gaps in the corners are consistent, otherwise it will not be able to maintain uniformity.
If the technology is not up to standard, it is recommended to choose tile glue. The deformation of ceramic tile glue is much smaller than that of cement mortar , and it can almost be achieved without leaving any gaps. The use of tiling glue in local (optical corners) will not lead to an increase in costs.
Yangjiao strip: It is a burden after aesthetic fatigue
People who like Yangjiao strip really like it, and love it no matter how you look at it. They said that "the sun corner strip is a decorative line, a decoration on monotonous tiles." But I advise you not to be impulsive:
No matter how beautiful the artwork is, it will be aesthetically exhausted when you look at it every day. When the "beauty" disappears, it is time to test practicality. The practicality of Yangjiao strips is far less than that of Haitang Point. During use, it will face two problems:
1. The joints of the positive corner strips and the ceramic tile are uneven. looks over from a distance, and the corner strips are embedded in the ceramic tile. But you can tell from a close look that there is actually a large gap between the corner strip and the tiles, and the corner strip is protruding from the tiles.
This is not just an ugly thing. When used in the future, dust will enter this gap.Especially when using a rag to wipe the tiles, the corner of the sun just snags the rag, sucking the mud and water inside the rag into the gap, and it is impossible to pick it out.
The tiles will also be covered with dust, but there are ways to make up for it, such as making a tiles beautiful seam. There is no way to make beautiful tiles with the sun corner strips, and there is no way to block them. They can only watch it get dirty.
2. It is easy to loosen. If you ask users who have used the Yang Corner Bar for more than five years, you can get verified. Some of the positive corners are half pressed under the tiles, and will slowly fall out of the tiles after they are loosened. Some of the positive corners are stuck on the tiles, and they simply fall off after they are loosened.
And the material of the male corner strip is generally mainly plastic and aluminum alloy. The surface of aluminum alloy is prone to scratches, and the plastic is prone to fading and brittle, and its lifespan is far inferior to that of ceramic tiles. At that time, you will either redecorate the sun corner strip or just endure it. Every method will make you speechless.
Summary: Begonia corners are the first choice for tiling on the corners, but the skills of construction workers must be strictly reviewed. Or you can ask the worker to stick the sun corner first. If it is not well, let him leave quickly to save the waste of tiles in other locations.
Yang corner strips are suitable for short-term and temporary use, such as rental houses - they only take three to five years to decorate, and the budget is extremely low, so you can choose this cheap decoration form.
