There are many reasons why cymbidium is not blooming again. It is not necessarily your maintenance. Sometimes, you can even spend it smoothly by simply dealing with it.
If there is no sign of flowering in the cymbidium at home, check it out, have you done these aspects correctly?
1. Change a new home every year
Cymbidium not only blooms beautifully, but also grows very fast, so fast that it needs to be replaced with a new pot every year. You can also perform branching breeding, because as long as there is no major mistake in maintenance, it is easy to produce new seedlings. If you don’t separate the plants, you have to change to a large flower pot.
This way, the root system of Cymbidium can grow freely and absorb more water and nutrients, which will be easier to re-blood. When dividing, each flowerpot should be guaranteed to have 3 to 5 seedlings. Too many or too few seedlings will affect growth and flowering.
In addition to changing the flower pot and planting in separate plants, it still needs to pay attention to the planting materials. You can use the special planting materials of orchid , or you can also use leaf mold soil and granule planting materials as potting soil.
2. In autumn, it’s more
Cymbidium does not like direct light, and is even afraid of strong light. Even if the light is too strong, the color of the leaves will turn yellow, and the serious one is yellow and white. However, it is not good to keep cymbidium in a cool place for a long time, especially in autumn, which is the period of its flower bud differentiation.
The flower bud differentiation period of cymbidium cymbidium requires light, and some light should be added appropriately, otherwise the flower bud differentiation will be affected. During the Spring Festival, beautiful flowers cannot bloom.
Then, in autumn, the light is no longer so strong. You can let Cymbidium see the sun in the morning and evening. Specifically, it is before 10 am and after 4 pm. As time goes by, the time for light is gradually increasing. By the end of autumn, it will be fine to bask in the sun all day long.
3. We must pay attention to fertilization
The price of cymbidium cymbidium is very different. The main difference is that the flower arrows. Cymbidium with a single arrow can only be sold for twenty or thirty yuan, but Cymbidium with a lot of arrows can be sold for hundreds of yuan. Cymbidium can grow many flower arrows, and after all, it cannot be separated from sufficient nutrients.
Home Cymbidium wants to reflow and bloom vigorously, and fertilizer must also be lacking. Even a single flower arrow can produce dozens of flowers, and the ornamentality is not low. However, if the nutrients are worse than that, even if the flower arrows can grow, at most, there will be only a few flowers.
It is not so complicated to choose fertilizer for cymbidium. Just use Huaduoduo No. 1, and Huaduoduo No. 2 during the flower bud differentiation period. In spring and autumn, the rotten sheep manure is buried.
At this stage, it is the flower bud differentiation period of Cymbidium. The more sufficient the nutrient supply, the more sufficient the flower bud differentiation. At this time, use Huaduoduo No. 2, dilute it into 1,000 times the liquid fertilizer. Spray once a week and spray 3 times in a row to ensure the smooth completion of flower bud differentiation.
4. Spring is the key
In fact, many flower lovers have no more flowers in their homes. It is not because the breeding method is wrong, but because the low-temperature serpentation has not been carried out. You should know that as long as you can support Cymbidium at home for one year, you will be able to bloom more or less when the flowering period is reached. If you really don’t have a single flower, there must be something big of a problem.
And low temperature vernalization is this big problem. Cymbidium will not bloom without going through the low temperature environment. Therefore, raising cymbidium also requires the conditions for raising cymbidium. To be precise, as long as the ambient temperature does not drop to 0℃, it can be maintained outdoors.
If there is no outdoor breeding conditions, remember to artificially create the temperature difference, otherwise Cymbidium will definitely not be reflowed. And this difficulty is still a bit difficult for us amateur flower-raising enthusiasts.
① Flower bud differentiation time
Cymbidium will start to grow flower buds in September and October of each year. When the flower buds grow to 2 to 3 cm, they will generally stop growing. If you have cymbidium at home and have not seen the buds of flowers, hurry up and use Huaduoduo No. 2 to promote flowers.
②Low temperature vernalization time
After the flower buds stop growing, the temperature drops below 10℃. At this ambient temperature, it can bloom normally after 60 days of breeding. If the temperature is too high or the number of days with low temperature is insufficient, it will not bloom.
Then, the buds will gradually dry up, instead of continuing to grow and expand. In other words, those who have cymbidium at home can be moved outdoors to raise. If you don’t have any exposed conditions, you should also raise the cymbidium on the balcony, open the window at night to allow it to sequel normally and bloom normally during the Chinese New Year.
