I believe everyone knows that the pasting of soft porcelain is nothing more than the following steps: base treatment - typesetting - pasting - clearing, filling, seaming - cleaning, but these small details are easily overlooked by everyone.

1. Prepare two-component (emulsion type) tile adhesive and stir with electric tools;

Special reminder: For tile adhesives and caulking agents, whether they are single-component (dry powder) or two-component (emulsion + Powder) must use finished mortar with low alkalinity or anti-efflorescence formula to fully avoid the possible efflorescence phenomenon after pasting.

2. Scraping: When the soft porcelain specification is 60mm*240mm or less, the full scraping method on the back of the soft porcelain can be used, and the thickness is about 4mm; when the soft porcelain specification is above 60mm*240mm, the soft porcelain back and wall must be double scraped. The whole surface is scraped with slurry, and the thickness is about 3mm. It is best to use a toothed scraper when scraping the slurry, and the depth of the blade teeth should be 5~6mm.
3. Treatment of Yin and Yang angles:

(1) Soft porcelain with thinner thickness (average thickness about 3mm) such as slate, wall rock, etc.:

Yin and Yang angles: No seams are required, and adhesive is applied to the joints at the back part. Just make sure it's full enough.

External corner: No need to chamfer soft porcelain.

a, positive corner covering method: apply soft porcelain to directly cover the edge of the soft porcelain material on the other side, and deliberately exceed it by 1~2mm. After drying, use a sand board or sand sheet to smooth the excess part electrically or manually. That’s it (soft porcelain material is very hard unlike ceramic tiles or stone, so it’s easier to grind it like this), but make sure the bonding slurry at the corners is properly full.

b, method of leaving seams at the external corners: deliberately leave 3~5mm seams at the external corners during construction. After clearing the seams, fill in the caulking agent . Use a spatula to apply after the water is slightly absorbed, so as to leave natural seams at the corners. At a small angle of 45 degrees, this method has the fastest processing speed, but attention should be paid to the moderate fullness of the slurry to avoid warping of the corners.

(2) Soft porcelain with strong concave and convex feeling, such as clear water, axed stone, etc.:

1. The inner and outer corners are chamfered at 45 degrees (same as stone or ceramic tiles). After the outer corners are pasted, use an angle grinder (or No. 0 emery cloth ) Appropriate cutting and sanding of sharp protrusions.

2. During the construction of the external corners, it is not necessary to perform 45-degree chamfering and pasting. The seams can be left. After the pasting is completed, the external corners should be cleaned, filled, and rounded. It is not required to fully fill the external corners. After the jointing is completed, use an angle grinder (or No. 0 emery cloth) to appropriately cut the tip and sand the protruding parts.
