It's hot summer, it's too hot, and it hardly rains, which is quite sad.
There are no flowers in bloom. I just took pictures of Mars Flower and Fragrant Vine ~ I was too lazy to take a camera to take pictures in the garden.
In fact, there are not many. In front of the porch at the entrance of the garden gate, there are hydrangeas, agapanthus, buddleia, phlox, hollyhocks and sunflowers blooming in their glory days. Echinacea and Silverleaf are not included~
I roughly counted at least 50 varieties of flowers in bloom, but I felt that there were "no flowers to photograph", which was a bit sorry for the flowers that were blooming despite the heat. them.
So, let’s make a list and introduce the flowers blooming in the Hippo Garden in July~
Let’s classify them according to their performance.
一/ List of protagonists
: sunflower, echinacea, Mars flower, agapanthus, fragrant vine, buddleia, zailihua
1, sunflower
have been open for a whole month, last month was the protagonist, vegetable The ones on the ground are still blooming. Each one is more than 2 meters tall and has dozens of flowers. The self-sowing seedlings are strong, and the south side has good ventilation and light.
The ones sown in April have emerged and been planted on the cleaned river slope of poppies . They have also bloomed these days and are much more beautiful.
✦
Glory Days is a small-flowered horticultural variety, also a sunflower, which blooms continuously. It bloomed until November last year.
2, Echinacea
After the river slope was renovated last year, the echinacea were transplanted out. They bloomed a little loosely. Each tree has dozens of flowers, which is also the main force. This pink variety 'Shenzhen' performs best, with tall skin and large flowers.
Other double-petaled and some new horticultural varieties have a much weaker growth.
Fortunately, echinacea blooms for a long time, with more than one flower blooming per flower. The moon is still in good shape and does not need to be pruned. After the petals have withered, you can admire its "pine cone ball"
3. The flame-like color of the spark flower
ignites the whole summer.
This thing is too skinny and easy to overflow, and it will soon become a big bush. . I pulled out almost half of them last year.
reminds: Too dense will result in less flowering. You need to "slim down" in time and pull out the plants that are too dense.
. Agapanthus
has only partially bloomed, and many of them are still buds. This year, the flowering period is late. It's strange. The big blue flower bulbs are always eye-catching when they bloom. They can bloom even in partial shade.
5. The apricot-colored fragrant vine is so beautiful. It was the protagonist last month, and there are many flower buds. , continue to be the protagonist.
The new red and white fragrant vines have also bloomed in the past few days. In order to see the flowers, I did not pay attention to the plant shape.
Pruning the branches that are too long can maintain the shape of the fragrant vines, and new side branches will appear. Continue to bloom.
6, Buddleia
I like this white Buddleia at the entrance of the garden. It blooms very strongly from early June and blooms almost until autumn.
Additional information: On the vitex next to it. The tree is also full of purple flowers, and the side branches will bloom again after pruning.
7, Zailihua
aquatic plants are suitable for summer, and bring coolness. Due to flooding every year, tall and indestructible Zaili flowers were planted in the end. They were all grown from the original branches, and they all bloomed. I must praise~
8, Ball Orchid
Even though there is only one plant, they are all blooming. Not much blooming, but it’s beautiful!
2. The list of the labor model group
includes snapdragon , dianthus , perennial bellflower, blue potted flower, foxglove , flower tobacco , and beauty cherry.
They have been blooming from April to now, especially the blue potted flowers and dianthus, which have been blooming since December last year and have been blooming all the time. . .
This group is all model workers, foxglove 'Pink Leopard', the side branches are also blooming, it is said that they can survive the summer.
I don’t know how many side branches the snapdragons have bloomed. I cut off the stems of the remaining flowers every day, and there are still some that keep blooming. They are probably the kind that will bloom to the point of aesthetic fatigue~
. After pruning the remaining flowers of tobacco, there is almost no time to grow new ones. The branches grow and bloom again.
The perennial bluebells are blooming so much~~~ Although the number of flowers is not as good as in spring, new flower stems are still popping up.
.
Beautiful Sakura is an old model worker. This bush is quite beautiful growing on the roadside and I am too lazy to prune it.
Hollyhocks can also be considered as model workers. They have bloomed for a very long time from last month to now.
3. The marginal group
are those flowering plants that are also in the flowering period, but can only play a supporting role. The list of
includes Hemerocallis , Shekdan , Canna , Phlox, Coreopsis , Rudbeckia , Homophora , Hibiscus , Maple leaf red okra, Hydrangea paniculata , Blue butterfly , Patchouli
Hemerocallis is actually quite beautiful, and I have a lot of them, but each flower only lasts for one or two days and cannot be the main character;
There is only one clump of Shegan, which is very tall
I have several clumps of cannas, and what’s even more beautiful is that they are The leaves and flowers don't matter.
Phlox is a perennial herb. Its performance in summer is actually very good, but it only has this rose red color. It is best to add two white and pink bushes;
Coreopsis is always brilliant.
The double-flowered three-bush rudbeckia is also a perennial. It has been blooming for a month and is performing very well.
The red okra is still blooming, and I am a little worried that it will not survive the summer;
The hibiscus is also very beautiful
The maple leaf red okra blooms throughout the summer every year, just a few flowers at a time.
Hydrangea paniculata was supposed to be the star of July, but it didn’t grow well and bloomed too loosely.
The blue butterfly is very beautiful. After winter protection, it successfully survived the winter. It has been blooming from May to June, and the new branches after pruning are blooming again.
The blue color of Patchouli is actually very suitable for summer, and it was in full bloom last year.
also bought a high pole this year, and it is still opening after pruning
4. Out-of-date group
hydrangea, clematis , lily , gladiolus , rose , shore chrysanthemum , Wisteria , bowl lotus, cut summer rosary. . . They all belong to the protagonists of the past, and some are still on, incomparable to the most brilliant highlight moments.
Endless SummerExcept for one tree that bloomed outside the railing, the others have been pruned, and some new branches are blooming sporadically. Annabelle is also green~
The flowers of the white angel are all green, and they will bloom again if they are pruned.
Some clematis are still blooming, especially the purple bell ‘Rugu’, which is very good in summer.
New branches of North American wisteria are blooming, and buds are constantly coming out.
There is still the last cluster of double-petaled lilies in bloom, but I was bullied by the sunflowers and cut them out for flower arrangements.
5. Future Star Group
The upcoming flowering period is summer pansy , hosta , grass spurge , lace gold dew flower, blue snowflake , storm orchid , etc., they will soon become the protagonists~
6. Let me mention a name for passerby group
. They are blooming, but in a very ordinary state, which can almost be ignored~~ Of course, some of them are because I did not raise them well.
The list includes: Platycodon , Platania sibirica, Willow-leaf white flower, colorful horse, Purple Jiaohua , Cosmos , Purple leaf sorrel, Flyweed , Borage , Begonia , Cherry sage
There is also a bunch of cyclamen planted inexplicably that are blooming ~
In fact, there are many others that are not blooming, but they are also wonderful in summer, such as small Pancao , coleus, chrysanthemum, etc., as well as green peppers, bitter melons, and corns in my vegetable field are all bearing fruit!
