When looking to improve the health performance of a home, is it simply defined as entry disinfection, changing clothes and washing up? What’s the point of designing a “healthy house”? Liang Guanghua: In the past, entrance halls focused on covering privacy, but now entrance halls require more open vision, so that people can feel suddenly enlightened when entering the house. In terms of functionality, the current entrance design will have more refined functions if conditions permit. The traditional design is to make a shoe cabinet, but now more owners will choose to design a place to sit and change shoes, or Design a turning stool on the wall so that it does not hinder access.

The entrance is still an important space to distinguish between dirty and clean areas. We would recommend placing some disinfection items in the middle of the entrance shoe cabinet, even just a small one. Area, this is the first line of defense to ensure cleanliness when returning home. The second line of defense is the public bathroom at home. This is a "transitional space" where you can change clothes and wash up. Therefore, the "healthy" design of the bathroom is also very important. You can design some anti-mold and sterilization facilities, such as those with sterilization effect. He Yongming: A home is the same as a city. A space is mainly divided into "dynamic" and "quiet". "Movement" refers to the city's parks and central squares, which correspond to the living room and dining room at home. An open area should be as wide, ventilated, and well-lit as possible, and should be appropriately bright to extend the line of sight. "Quiet" means that bedrooms and resting places should be relatively private, preferably dark, and it doesn't matter if the space is smaller.

There is a saying that the role of the scene can be designed according to the "closed points" of family members' activities. The "closed spots" are the spaces where the activity time is longer. The space where everyone in a family spends the most time together is in the living room.

Taking a 120-square-meter three-bedroom residential model room we designed for Poly as an example, we opened up the study wall connected to the living room. The entire living room has been transformed into a 5.8-meter large space. The living room is no longer cramped. The balcony connecting the living room and the study room has significantly increased the amount of light. The raised floor design creates an open parent-child reading area. With 120 square meters, you can live in a large flat-floor luxury.

Liang Guanghua: I think the reception function of the living room has evolved. In the past, people had the habit of visiting each other, but now people are more accustomed to making appointments to meet. Friends come to the house less often, so the living room takes on more meaning and function for activities within the home. I think the living room can be a wide space, convenient for home office or parent-child interaction. At the same time, long and rectangular multi-functional tables are more popular now, which can adapt to the popularity of tea culture and can also be used for children's entertainment such as stacking blocks.

In addition, not only the living room, but also the design of every space in the house should be as consistent as possible with the changes in the family structure. For the elderly, there should be more aging-friendly designs, and for children, safety should be considered first.

Emotional health is as important as physical health

Yangcheng Evening News: What significance does a scientifically designed house have for healthy living?

Liang Guanghua: The layout of a house will have an impact on the body and mind. A house with abundant sunlight and a wide view will make the occupants feel comfortable. A dim and cramped house will depress people's mood and produce negative emotions. Therefore, Not willing to stay at home.
