Liu Siqi, also known as Liu Songlin, was born on March 2, 1930 in Hubei.
Liu Siqi's mother, Zhang Wenqiu, was Chairman Mao's revolutionary comrade-in-arms. In 1927, at the Fifth CCP Congress in Wuhan, Chairman Mao saw Zhang Wenqiu and knew she had just gotten married, and joked, "If you give birth to Daughter, we are family. An inadvertent joke did not become a fact later, Zhang Wenqiu's two daughters Siqi and Shaohua became Chairman Mao's daughter-in-law.
Liu Siqi's father, Liu Qianchu, was Chairman Mao's revolutionary comrade-in-arms. Liu Siqi was only one year old when he died. After her father's sacrifice, her mother, Zhang Wenqiu, took Liu Siqi to Yan'an . At the age of eight, she met Chairman Mao for the first time. Chairman Mao felt very sorry for the child of his comrade-in-arms, and regarded her as his goddaughter. Since then, Liu Siqi has become a frequent visitor to Chairman Mao's home.
In 1946, 16-year-old Liu Siqi met Mao Anying, who was eight years older than him, in Yan'an. The two met and gradually fell in love. On October 15, 1949, Chairman Mao happily organized their wedding in Zhongnanhai.
June 25, 1950 The Korean War broke out, Mao Anying went to Korea to participate in the war, and died unfortunately on November 24, 1950,Like ordinary volunteer soldiers, they stayed in North Korea.
After Mao Anying's sacrifice, Liu Siqi has been immersed in grief. Mao Zedong arranged for her to study at Moscow University in the Soviet Union. After returning to China, he was assigned to a certain department of the People's Liberation Army Corps of Engineers to engage in translation work. Chairman Mao regarded Liu Siqi as his daughter, persuaded her many times to start a family, and personally found a partner for her. In February 1962, Liu Siqi married Yang Maozhi, an instructor at Air Force Academy , and they had two sons and two daughters. In memory of Mao Anying, the first child was named Xiaoying.
Liu Siqi never forgets Mao Anying and has visited North Korea five times to pay homage to Mao Anying.
In 1959, she visited Mao Anying's tomb for the first time at the Cemetery of the Volunteer Army Martyrs in Hinoki.
In May 2006, Liu Siqi followed Chairman Mao's instructions and went to Dayudong, where Mao Anying was sacrificed.
In May 2010, relatives such as Liu Siqi and Mao Xinyu went to Anti-US and Aid Korea Martyrs Cemetery to pay homage to Mao Anying.
Liu Siqi worked in the Academy of Military Sciences until his retirement. Happy old age.
