According to the organizational structure of our country's military, the position of political commissar must be established at the regiment level and above. In the early days of the Anti-Japanese War, our Eighth Route Army had three divisions, namely the 1115th Division, the 120th Division and the 129th Division. The division commanders were Mr. Lin, Mr. He and Mr. Liu Shuai respectively. The first political commissar who partnered with Liu Shuai was called Zhang Hao. Maybe everyone is not familiar with this name, but Zhang Hao was one of the famous leaders in the early days of our country, but he died quietly without seeing the final victory of the revolution due to illness.

went to work in the Soviet Union

Zhang Hao's original name was Lin Yuying . "Zhang Hao" was the pseudonym Lin Yuying used when he returned from the Soviet Union in 1935. He is the cousin of President Lin (formerly known as Lin Yurong) and joined the Communist Party as early as 1922. Under the situation of white terror, Lin Yuying actively led workers everywhere to carry out labor movement activities against the oppression of capitalists, and achieved good results.

In July 1924, Lin Yuying was stabbed in the head by an enemy's bayonet while organizing a workers' march. In view of the medical conditions at the time, although Lin Yuying received treatment, he left serious sequelae on his body, which had many adverse effects on his continued work for the party.

In 1930, Lin Yuying went to the Northeast to carry out underground work, and also served as the Secretary of the Manchuria Provincial Party Committee. Just as he was actively carrying out anti-Japanese and national salvation work, he was arrested for informing a traitor. By the time Lin Yuying was rescued and released from prison, his body had been severely damaged.

It was under such difficult conditions that Lin Yuying never gave up his communist belief. He was ordered to work in the Soviet Union and participated in the Seventh Congress of the Communist International. In order to bring the spirit of this conference back to the country, Lin Yuying traveled thousands of miles through Mongolia and arduously returned to the country and came to Yan'an.

persuaded Zhang Guotao

At that time, the Red Front Army had just arrived in Yan'an, but the Red Fourth Front Army led by Zhang Guotao was still on the Long March road. Originally, the number of people in the Red Army was not very large. Zhang still set up a separate Central Committee to create a split, which was really inappropriate. In order to form a complete Party Central Committee, Chairman Mao gave Lin Yuying a very important task, which was to persuade Zhang Guotao to return to Yan'an.

The Communist Party at that time was still a branch of the Communist International and had to obey the arrangements of the Communist International. When Lin Yuying returned to China this time, she brought back the Communist International radio password, so she has a certain degree of authority. Zhang Guotao also stayed in the Soviet Union and listened to the words of the Communist International.

After Lin Yuying took the order, he took the initiative to persuade Zhang Guotao to change his mind, admitted his mistake of establishing a separate central committee, and together with Mr. Zhu, led the team north to join the Red Army. Lin Yuying personally welcomed Zhang Guotao's return and gave Zhang Guotao enough face.

It is no exaggeration to say that because of Lin Yuying's meticulous work, further splitting of the Red Army was avoided. He brought the Fourth Front Army back to Yan'an. Lin Yuying also made great achievements. This incident also enhanced Lin Yuying's status and prestige in our party and our army.

129 Division Political Commissar

After the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War, our army reorganized, Lin Yuying served as the first political commissar of the 129th Division, and partnered with Liu Shuai and started a new journey. Lin Yuying had been engaged in the labor movement for a long time and had a unique understanding of political and ideological work. Even under the very unfavorable conditions at the time, she was able to cooperate with Liu Shuai and carry out various tasks well.

However, Lin Yuying's physical condition did not allow him to travel in the wild for a long time. As mentioned earlier, Lin Yuying was beaten severely in Japanese prison and was stabbed in the head with a bayonet. Therefore, he often suffered from headaches and fatigue at work, and could not adapt to the military life of fighting in the north and south, and being constantly displaced.

Helpless, Lin Yuying had no choice but to return to Yan'an to recuperate and engage in some work within her ability.Deng Gong, who served as the deputy director of the Political Department of the Eighth Route Army, took over Lin Yuying's job, and formed with Liu Shuai the "Liu and Deng" combination that became famous throughout the country and the entire army.

In 1942, Lin Yuying's condition worsened. Knowing that he was not going to die soon, he left a last word to his secretary, requesting that he be buried on Taohualing opposite Yangjialing after his death to witness the spectacular moment of the Chinese revolution. Lin Yuying died of illness on March 6, 1942. Chairman Mao personally carried his coffin and escorted him through the last leg of his revolutionary career.
