History is an unforgettable part of a country and a nation. Facing history and remembering history can inspire the development and progress of a country and enhance the cohesion of a nation. In modern times, due to its "close-off country", our country has been lagging behind the world for a long time, being oppressed and exploited by the great powers, and becoming a semi-colonial and semi-sealed society. Hundreds of millions of Chinese people live in dire straits. In the last century, Japan launched an aggressive war against our country, causing unprecedented harm to our country and people. In this critical moment, the revolutionary martyrs fought hard without fear of life and death, and finally won the victory. This history is tragic and we should remember it from generation to generation.
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Japanese invaders committed all kinds of evil deeds in our country and massacred innocent people. Our soldiers and people paid a tragic price to finally win. In order to commemorate the anti-Japanese warriors, our country has established many martyrs' cemeteries so that people can remember this history.
There is a martyr's cemetery in Tengchong, Yunnan, my country. Here, in addition to the commemorative tombstones of the anti-Japanese martyrs, there is also a tomb called "Wataka". In front of this tomb, four statues of Japanese soldiers with kneeling postures stand facing the place where the martyrs are buried. Japan has repeatedly asked to remove these statues, but China responded: As long as these three conditions are agreed, it can be removed.
In 1942, Japan captured Tengchong . In this battle, the soldiers who defended Tengchong were almost wiped out. In the later battle to recover Tengchong, our army finally won, but paid a heavy price. In order to commemorate the deceased martyrs, our country has established a martyrs' cemetery in Tengchong, named "National Cemetery". This is the largest and earliest martyrs' cemetery in our country. The prototype of these four kneeling statues is the four Japanese commanders who invaded Tengchong. The main reason for building these four statues is to alert the world, remember history, and to express repentance. After the establishment of this cemetery, Japan was very dissatisfied with the establishment of these four statues in our country and asked us to demolish these statues. In response, my country also responded to this and put forward three conditions to Japan, and as long as Japan promised us, we would demolish the statues. First, we asked Japan to demolish the Yasukuni Shrine; second, we asked Japan to revise textbooks; third, we asked Japan to apologize to the martyrs who died in the War of Resistance Against Japan. These three conditions are actually to hope that Japan can face up to history and recognize history, but Japan refuses to agree and is unwilling to admit its evil deeds.
Since Japan does not agree to these conditions, we do not have to remove these statues. Japan has not made any apology to China for a long time, and has distorted the facts in Japanese textbooks. Therefore, these statues will always kneel in our country and repent to the martyrs who died in our country. As Chinese, no matter where and where we are, we must remember history and our mission.
