In March 1947, the Party Central Committee decided to withdraw from Yan'an.
In late July, when we arrived in Xiaohe Village, Jingbian County, northern Shaanxi, Mao Zedong presided over an enlarged central meeting.
Shortly after the meeting ended, the Kuomintang army was getting closer and closer to them.
south, Dong Zhao , Liu Kan (kān) is leading 8 national military brigades north along the Xianyu Highway, heading straight to Suide and Mizhi . To the north of
, Zhong Song with a light-loaded semi-mechanized 36th Division walked along the Great Wall star-night, and also came to Suide and Mizhi.
The total number of soldiers in the south and north countries is tens of thousands.
Although they plan to meet in Suide and Mizhi first, and then fight against the Northwest Field Army with the Yulin National Army garrison troops, Mao Zedong and other central leaders were near Suide and Mizhi, and were approaching these two places.
How can Chairman Mao get rid of danger?
1. Being forced into a desperate situation
The two areas of Suide and Mizhi are about 30 kilometers from east to west and about 20 kilometers from north to south. Once Mao Zedong and others are surrounded here, the consequences will be unimaginable.
At that time, there were only four companies responsible for the security of Mao Zedong and the central government. The weapons were old and the staff were not full, with less than 300 people.
How can a company-level unit with less than 300 people fight against troops with brigade level or above tens of thousands?
of course can only be transferred continuously, otherwise it will definitely hit the stone with eggs.
When reporting on the enemy situation, Zhou En said that the troops from the north and south were getting closer and closer to them, and used "embracing around" to describe their situation. Mao Zedong said lightly: "embracing around, but there was no panic!"
seemed relaxed, but in fact, Mao Zedong was just to stabilize everyone. As the commander, he could not be confused. When looking at the map, he couldn't help but say seriously: "Along the Dali River , approaching Yulin !"
Mao Zedong's decision had to go side by side with the national army in the north and south. But thinking about it all, Peng Dehuai and the Northwest Field Army were also near Yulin, and this decision was not wrong.
In response to this, Ren Bishi only said: "Along the way, there will inevitably be swords and swords!"
Finally, after the meeting decision, everyone agreed with Mao Zedong's opinion.
Along the way, Mao Zedong and others cleverly avoided the enemy and came to Wulongpu on August 7.
At this time, the enemy is closer to them, which can be described as "being forced into a desperate situation".
2. Resolutely, but Yellow River
Seeing that Mao Zedong and others were getting closer and closer to the enemy, many people were anxious. Liu Shaoqi and Zhu De sent a telegram to Mao Zedong, asking them to take advantage of the opportunity of Dong Zhao, Liu Kan and Zhong Song to cross the Yellow River quickly, otherwise it would be too late. Even Peng Dehuai said the same thing.
At this time, it started to rain again.
Ren Bishi said with concern: "The enemy was originally from two routes, but now it has become the North, West and South routes. We have to make a decision quickly!"
Mao Zedong neither listened to the suggestions of Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De and Peng Dehuai, nor was he as anxious as Ren Bishi. He just said: " Hu Zongnan came to us. If he could not defeat him, he would be the Yellow River!"
From a partial perspective, Mao Zedong's words are puzzling - how can a team of less than 300 people win tens of thousands of people? But from the overall perspective, it was not Mao Zedong who personally brought people to fight tens of thousands of national troops, but left signs of still being in northern Shaanxi, dragging Hu Zongnan's troops and creating conditions for victory for other People's Liberation Army.
In addition, Mao Zedong was also worried about one problem, that is, once he met Peng Dehuai, it was likely that Peng Dehuai would be unable to let go, which was tantamount to causing trouble for Peng Dehuai.
Mao Zedong said that after the Yellow River, Ren Bishi first stood up to oppose it, thinking that he would cross the Yellow River to ensure the safety of Chairman Mao and the Party Central Committee. The two argued endlessly about this.
Ren Bishi was also right. His starting point was to consider Mao Zedong and the Party Central Committee, hovering near the three main forces of Hu Zongnan, tantalizing that he was running around the tiger without any sense of security.
Zhou Enlai came out to smooth things out at this time: "The Jialu River near us is not the Yellow River, it is just a branch of the Yellow River. You can cross the Jialu River first, so that there will be room for maneuver."
Zhou Enlai's words worked, and the differences were temporarily over, but new problems came.
3. Bring me cigarettes
When the discussion between Mao Zedong, Ren Bishi and Zhou Enlai was about to end, the scout reported: "Liu Kan's troops were working non-stop, setting off from Wulongpu in the rain, coming towards us. Their shadows could be seen several miles away on the mountain!"
"Go away quickly, it would be too late if you don't leave!" Ren Bishi said anxiously.
After saying that, Ren Bishi had already chosen people and asked them to borrow boats from the people and try to cross the Jialu River.
However, the heavy rain in recent days, coupled with the heavy rain at this time, has caused the water level of the Jialu River to continue to rise and become turbulent, and the people's boats cannot withstand this kind of wind and waves at all.
In other words, Jialu River cannot be passed. What should I do if
? Everyone had no choice but to look at Mao Zedong and let him decide which side to go.
Mao Zedong did not make a decision immediately, but said calmly: "Get me a cigarette!"
In recent days, Mao Zedong had pneumonia . For his health, the people around him no longer brought cigarettes and could not give it to him.
After finding a few people, I finally found one for Mao Zedong, but the rain was too heavy and I couldn't light the fire.
At this time, Zhou Enlai's guard Li Yinqiao took the initiative to light a cigarette for Mao Zedong and succeeded. This made Li Yinqiao transferred to the Chairman to work the next day, and he worked for 15 years.
Take a big puff of cigarette and slowly exhaled it. Mao Zedong's whole body was immediately filled with energy and his eyes became much brighter.
He said calmly: "But the Yellow River is not only Jialu River, follow me."
There is no way, everyone can only follow him.
What everyone didn't expect was that they were moving under the enemy's noses, and the enemy didn't notice it at all. This was the case several times.
This incident was so circulated that it was amazing. The local people said, "The real dragon is not the river, no one can defeat it!"
Li Yinqiao later analyzed that they were not discovered, mainly because the enemy did not discover them from the beginning.
Conclusion:
Mao Zedong's approach is terrible and he lingers under the noses of tens of thousands of people. Once discovered, he will definitely be unable to fly.
However, they were not discovered after all.
In addition to the reasons mentioned by Li Yinqiao, there is another very important reason here, that is, the Communist Party has a good mass base in northern Shaanxi, their operation information is kept tightly, and the enemy can't even ask where they are.
From the side, this is also Mao Zedong’s confidence in mass work.
