In the 1960s, there was a "big steelmaking" craze across the country. At that time, there was a lack of professional steelmaking coal, so most villages and towns did not. After the founding of New China, several scientific expedition teams were sent to investigate. But due to the dangerous natural environment on the island, scientific research activities had to end hastily. It was not until modern times that the scientific expedition personnel had more advanced snake-proof equipment that the secret of Snake Island was completely revealed. According to experts' calculations, there are about 20,000 poisonous snakes living on this 1.2 square kilometers island. Some experts believe that the snakes on the island were most likely taken by humans at first, and I don’t know what purpose it was. At first, a group of people came to the island with a small number of snakes. Later, people left for some reason, and this island was isolated from the world and was very suitable for snakes to survive, so a small number of poisonous snakes left peacefully here.
Snake Island not only has many snakes, but also has a strange point. Although there are nearly 20,000 poisonous snakes on the island, they are not all kinds of species. They are basically snakes with a scientific name " black-eyed viper ". This phenomenon really made many experts confused at that time. Later, people discovered clues from the recipe of Black Eyebrow Viper. It turns out that black-eyed vipers do not feed on small rodents like most snakes. The black-eyed viper prefers to climb on the branches and pretend to attack the birds that stay on the trees.
Black Eyebrow Viper also has a special stunt, which is flying. It first bends into a spring shape, uses its tough body as the "engine" to bounce itself high, thereby preying on some low-altitude birds. Because of its unique geographical location, Snake Island is an important turning point in bird migration. At the time of seasonal change every year, Snake Island has become a common resting point for birds from north to south. It is precisely because of this that the black-eyed viper has the opportunity to reproduce in large quantities. Experts speculate that there might be other species of snakes on the island at first, but there are limited rodents such as mice on the island, and these snakes soon became extinct due to food scarcity. Because of their superb bird-catching skills, Snake Island has provided the possibility of bird-catching, so they have reproduced from generation to generation on this small island.
In the 1930s, with the unexpected exposure of Snake Island, more and more snake catchers secretly went to the island to hunt for profit. This brought a catastrophe to the snakes on the island. Until the 1980s, the venomous snakes on Snake Island were once on the verge of extinction.Fortunately, the country discovered the problem in time and established a nature reserve, which allowed these poor little guys to settle down again.
