My hometown is Bali Wangjia Village, Dongshan Street, Rongcheng City, Shandong Province. During the Anti-Japanese War, the revolutionary fire of Rongcheng City was in the Longshan Temple connected to our village. This is the place where the earliest party branch county party committee of Rongcheng City was established. The struggle of the people of Rongcheng City (county) for the motherland began from then on.
From 1940 to 1945, the Eighth Route Army Independence Battalion of Rongcheng County only lived in the three villages of Maoshanhou, Bali Wangjia Village and Shili Xiajia Village. There are countless battles of all sizes and sizes happening here! Among them, the scale of Hanshan was the largest and most tragic when fighting. The story of the battle in Hanshan I told is the educational course that Bi Chongdao, an old revolutionary in Xiajia Village in Shili, told us primary school students. Bi Chongdao was a master of the intelligence front and provided a lot of intelligence to the Eighth Route Army. He was praised many times by the Independent Battalion of the Eighth Route Army in Rongcheng County. He knew Japanese and lived in Korea in his early years. After the Japanese devils occupied Shidao in 1940, he invaded the enemy to provide intelligence to the Eighth Route Army.
There is intelligence that shows that a Japanese and puppet army with platoons landed from Bahe Houhai to sweep the Eighth Route Army. The Eighth Route Army mobilized three companies of troops to eliminate the Japanese and puppet army, and the troops were nine to one. The Japanese and puppet troops were equipped with 38 large-cap and added machine gun grenade launchers. The Eighth Route Army had very few steel guns. The other guns were mainly earth guns, with a range of fifty meters, iron sand, and two grenades and for each person. They were made by themselves and exploded into two pieces, with very low lethality. The rest of them used big swords to cheat and some farm tools.
The result was that the Japanese and puppet troops did land a platoon of troops from there, but two platoons of troops came from other directions. In this way, the Eighth Route Army Independent Battalion will be very passive. A fierce battle occurred in Hanshan. In the battle, the Eighth Route Army paid a heavy price to seize a light machine gun from the Japanese devils. When a soldier picked up the machine gun, , the Japanese military officer split the soldier in half, and the other soldier stabbed Cao to death with a bayonet. He won a light machine gun.
This battle was very tragic, and both sides suffered great casualties! The martyrs of the Eighth Route Army were buried in the place where the old buried in Bahe Village. The place where Lao Cang is located on the hills in the northwest of Hanshan Mountain. It is possible that there will be a monument to the martyrs there.
I often see the tombstones of martyrs in our local mountains every day. I always go to pay tribute to them, like them bowing. Some tombstones have no names at all.
