In the competition between China and the United States, China has always had a weak position, that is diplomacy. Compared with the United States, which has many allies, China's diplomatic achievements seem to be relatively weak.
So why are many countries in the world unwilling to make friends with us? How should our country "turn danger into safety"?
China Non-alignment policy
China is not as numerous as the United States, mainly for three reasons. The first is China's non-alignment policy, the second is that China does not advocate hegemony , and the third is that the United States has a deep economic control over its allies.
In the first aspect, China's non-alignment policy can be traced back to the 1950s. Previously, India, Yugoslavia League, and Egypt , , the three countries first proposed a non-aligned movement, aiming to seek independence during the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union and not participate in the struggle between the two sides. After
Premier Zhou praised and acknowledged this non-aligned movement at the Bandung Conference in 1955, which can be seen as the beginning of China's non-aligned policy. As for China's non-alignment policy to truly become a "policy", it can be traced back to the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, that is, 1982. At that time, China clearly proposed to engage in independent diplomacy and not to form alliances internationally.
Because of the non-alignment policy, China will not have any allies in legal terms, and it will not be able to establish a military alliance like the United States established NATO . So until now, although there are Pakistan , Serbia and other countries in the world that are closer to China, China still does not call it "alliance" in terms of diplomatic terms.
U.S. allies
In the second aspect, the US's global hegemony policy has promoted the development of US diplomacy. For example, countries in South America basically obey the United States. Because once these countries do not listen to the United States, a coup will immediately break out in the country, thus overthrowing the current government.
Even the "thorn" Cuba in South America, during the reign of Castro , there were many coups and assassinations of Cuban leaders. However, Cuba later acted as if he would rather die than surrender, and the coup and assassination planned by the United States had not achieved any results, which made the United States stop acting. But even so, the United States still blocked Cuba and continued to this day.
As for other "allies" of the United States, let alone, they basically have American troops. Especially in Japan, the United States' troops stationed in Japan are stronger than Japan's own military strength. Therefore, these countries dare not ignore the United States, and they naturally became "allies" of the United States.
If China learns the American style, it will soon have a large group of "allies", at least in the Southeast Asian and South Asian subcontinent . But China will not do that. my country pursues five basic principles and respects the sovereignty of other countries, so it cannot have a large group of "allies" like the United States.
As for the final economic control of the United States over its allies, it is mainly reflected in Europe.
The US economic control over Europe can be traced back to Marshall Plan . The Marshall Plan is a plan for the United States to provide large-scale assistance to Europe. As the saying goes, Europe, which has been soft-mouthed and short-selling, has to accept the control of the United States economically.
Although the Marshall plan ended in US law in 1951, the United States has not stopped aiding Europe through various channels since then, and this control over Europe is naturally continuing.
Take the long-arm jurisdiction of the United States as an example. Suppose a Frenchman is doing business in Canada, then the law that can control him is either French law or Canadian law. But the United States relied on its long-arm jurisdiction and was able to arrest the Frenchman if he violated American laws in Canada. There have been several cases of such things as
, such as the Alstom incident in France.Piere, vice president of international sales at Alstom, finished his business on , Indonesia , and was arrested by the United States as soon as he got off the plane in the United States, on the grounds that Piere paid bribes in Indonesia. After
, Alstom, the largest electrical appliance giant in France, was acquired by General Electric in the United States, and France suffered countless losses. And France said nothing and did nothing in the process. It is not difficult to see from this matter how deep the United States has economic control over Europe. Europe is economically controlled by the United States and its military is controlled by the United States, so naturally it can only be regarded as the "alliance" of the United States.
China's way of dealing with it
China needs to do two things to "turn danger into safety". The first is that its military power is strong enough, and the second is to do business with the whole world. With a strong military force, the United States dares not use military means to deal with China, so our country can defend its own development achievements.
Doing business with the whole world will give other countries a choice and a chance to break away from the economic control of the United States. At this point, China has its own development plan, that is, the Belt and Road Initiative. Through the Belt and Road Initiative, from East Asia with China as its core to Western Europe with France and Germany as its core, it can be connected into a whole.
passes through West Asia and Middle East , and includes Russia, Stan, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other countries, and may even include Africa in the future. Once the Belt and Road Initiative is officially built, the countries connected by it will become an economic whole, and their internal ties can be interconnected.
In this case, as a member state of the Belt and Road Initiative, a number of Western European countries can do business with other member states and with the United States. If the United States wants to control these European countries economically, they can directly invest in the Belt and Road Initiative system.
When these countries are no longer controlled by US economy , will they choose to have a good relationship with China, which is the core of the Belt and Road Initiative, or continue to be the allies of the United States that have been continuously exploiting them, the answer is obvious.
In fact, now, my country's military construction and the Belt and Road construction have achieved certain results, that is, the relationship between China and ASEAN .
Before the end of the last century to 2015-2016, the diplomatic relations between ASEAN and the United States were obviously very close. The reason is that the US navy is strong and China and ASEAN have very few economic and trade exchanges.
But now China's military power is enough to cover a certain range around South China Sea , and it is the main economic partner with ASEAN. ASEAN now seems very neutral between China and the United States.
