Qinghe is one of the three ancient towns in Haidian, known as the "first gateway in northern Beijing". During the Yuan Dynasty, Qinghe was the only place for Emperor Yuan to travel between the capital and Shangdu; during the Ming Dynasty, it was the main channel for Emperor Ming to visit the tombs in the north; during the Qing Dynasty, the grain transport was opened, and the royal granary of the Ben Yukang was established on the bank of the Qing River. In 1906, Qinghe Railway Station of the Beijing-Zhangjiao Railway was opened, and it was an ancient town in Beijing that combines land, water and railways. In modern times, Qinghe Town was one of the earliest areas in Beijing to establish factories and schools. It was built successively: Qinghe Army No. 1 Middle School, which was established in 1902, Pulige Company (i.e. Qinghe Factory) was built in 1908, and Qinghe Aviation Factory that moved in 1920, etc. "Zhongshan Lecture Hall" is the name of the Pulige Company office building founded in 1908 by the Qinghe area. It is a typical brick and wood mixed structure building in the Republic of China. In 2014, the Haidian District Government announced it as a "district-level cultural relics protection unit". Pulige Company is the first wool mill in China jointly organized by officials and businessmen. It started in the 30th year of the Westernization Movement and was founded in the 30th year of Guangxu (1904). It started construction in 1908 and started production on April 18, 1909. It is one of the birthplaces of China's national industry. On September 8, 1912, Mr. Sun Yat-sen visited Pulige Company to give a speech here and took a group photo in front of the office building.
