19After the founding of New China, Wang Dongxing was one of the people that Chairman Mao trusted the most, and was mainly responsible for the security guard work of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Leaders.

As early as during the War of Liberation, Wang Dongxing was responsible for the security guard and service guarantee work of the Central Leaders and the Central Front Committee. He performed his duties conscientiously, resolutely implemented the orders of his superiors, and completed the corresponding work well, and was praised by the Party Central Committee and Chairman Mao.

In terms of qualifications and military achievements, Wang Dongxing could not compare with the older generation of revolutionary meritorious figures such as the founding of the Ten Marshals of the People's Republic of China, but he developed very well in the later period, and served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the CPC Central Committee. His status exceeded that of the top ten generals (no one of the top ten generals had served as a leading leader).

After Chairman Mao passed away, Wang Dongxing made trouble at a critical moment and made great contributions to restoring the normal order of the political life of the Party and the country.

Wang Dongxing is a Communist who is loyal to the Party and is upright. After rectifying the situation, he could have actively participated in and led the development of the country. But at the Fifth Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of in February 1, , Wang Dongxing voluntarily resigned from important positions such as Vice Chairman of the CPC Central Committee and Standing Committee Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and retired to the second line of work and life.

Since then, although Wang Dongxing is no longer in the front-line leadership position, he has always been concerned about the development and future of the Party and the country, and has made his own strength as an ordinary citizen.

In the same year when Wang Dongxing resigned from his important position, two senior cadres also voluntarily resigned. How was their retirement life?

Chen Yonggui - A miracle of a farmer

Chen Yonggui is from Shanxi, born in a farmer's family, his original name is Chen Ronggui, and the locals call him the nickname "Jin Xiao". In January 1964, Chen Yonggui, then the Party Branch Secretary of Dazhai Village, received instructions from his superiors to report to the relevant departments of the State Council.

As an ordinary grassroots cadre, Chen Yonggui's report was excellent. In addition, in the newly launched "learning from Comrade Lei Feng", under the arrangement of comrades of the State Council, he was arranged to report to more than 10,000 representatives in the capital in the Great Hall of the People.

1964 On January 19, 1964, Chen Yonggui walked to the podium of the Great Hall of the People with a white turban wrapped around his head. He did not hold the manuscript, and his hands kept gestured in the air while speaking, using the simplest language to speak the history of Dazhai construction. Under the reports of major media, Chen Yonggui's Dazhai spirit told by him infected everyone and attracted the high attention of Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou.

At Chairman Mao’s 71st birthday party, Chen Yonggui not only received an invitation, but was also arranged to sit next to Chairman Mao. This was a great honor for him.

In August 1973, after Chen Yonggui found out that his name was on the list of candidates for members of the Politburo, he said modestly and sincerely: I am low in education and can’t even have a record, so I dare not be competent! Despite this, under the trust of the organization, Chen Yonggui was still on the shortlist.

In 1975, the Fourth National People's Congress opened. Premier Zhou continued to serve as Premier of the State Council and appointed 12 vice premiers at the same time. Chen Yonggui's name is among them, and he ranks seventh. It has to be said that as a farmer, he served as the deputy prime minister of the country, it was a miracle.

Chen Yonggui is a farmer who never forgets his true nature. After being elected as Vice Premier, he can move his and his family’s household registration to Beijing to find a good job for his family, but he never did this. Not only did he not move his household registration, he also did not get a penny salary, and always maintained his identity and true nature as a farmer.

In February 1980, Chen Yonggui, like Wang Dongxing, resigned to the organization. After obtaining permission, under the arrangement of the central government, he came to Beijing Dongjiao Farm as a consultant and became a formal employee of the country.

After Chen Yonggui became the vice premier, he never forgot his identity as a farmer and did his own business. He is a simple senior leader. On March 26, 1986, Chen Yonggui died of illness in Beijing at the age of 72. He is worthy of being the name of the peasant prime minister.

Ji Dengkui appreciated by Chairman Mao

As early as during the Anti-Japanese War, Ji Dengkui was a cadre of our army. He held leadership positions in the local area and made certain contributions to the revolution.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Ji Dengkui served as secretary of the Xuchang Prefectural Committee and other important positions. He performed outstandingly in his work and gradually gained the appreciation and respect of Chairman Mao. Once, Chairman Mao came to Xuchang . After listening to his report, he had a great impression of this young cadre.

It is precisely because of this that during the special period, Ji Dengkui's position was further improved, and became an alternate member of the 9th Central Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, a member of the 10th and 11th Central Political Bureaus, and served as Vice Premier of the State Council and other important positions. After making trouble, Ji Dengkui resigned from an important position in 1980. After soliciting his opinions, the organization arranged for him to be in charge of tourism for a period of time. In 1982, Ji Dengkui was a "ministerial researcher". This was the highest-ranking researcher at that time.

In July 1988, Ji Dengkui died of illness in Beijing at the age of 65. He was one of the main cadres appreciated and trained by Chairman Mao in his later years and made corresponding contributions to the stability and development of the country.

Conclusion

Of course, in addition to Ji Dengkui and Chen Yonggui, senior cadres who resigned with Wang Dongxing also had other people, such as General Chen Xilian, who we are familiar with, who also resigned from leadership positions from the organization at the same time.

Generally speaking, Wang Dongxing, Ji Dengkui, Chen Yonggui and others were once influential figures and held important positions in the Party and the country. Their retirement life was quiet and peaceful, which was also good.
