At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Anhui Province was temporarily divided into the North Anhui Administration District and the South Anhui Administration District for actual construction. The Administrative District belongs to the temporary zoning in the early 1950s, and the Administrative District benchmarks various provinces. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, in addition to the northern Anhui and southern Anhui administrative areas, my country also established administrative areas such as north Sichuan , southern Sichuan, northern Shaanxi, and south Shaanxi . Subsequently, various special zones and prefecture-level cities were successively established in various parts of Anhui Province. At that time, several counties under Bozhou were all under management under Fuyang Special District. The management scope of Fuyang District is very large, with a total of more than 10 counties under its jurisdiction. From the 1950s to the 1970s, the Fuyang Special Zone's division has undergone various changes. In view of the importance of Bozhou county-level cities and industrial production capacity, in 1998, Bozhou county-level cities broke away from Fuyang City's management and became county-level cities directly under the jurisdiction of the province. Their status is similar to that of Henan Province's Jiyuan City , Hubei Province's Tianmen City and Xiantao City , etc. In 2000, Bozhou City was further promoted to a prefecture-level city, and the original Bozhou county-level city was abolished and Qiaocheng District was established. At the same time, the Woyang County, Mengcheng County and Lixin County, which were originally under Fuyang City, have been successively included in the management of Bozhou City.

As of this time, the zoning pattern of 1 district and 3 counties in Bozhou City has been completely formed, with a total of 4 districts and counties.
