Yang Xianzhen studied at a private second-class primary school run by Mr. Huang Bagong and Huang Zeshen for four years. In 1912 (the first year of the Republic of China), she graduated with the first place in the class.

At this time, he was sixteen years old and returned to Anyangkou to become his father's powerful helper. Silk reel , make wires, keep accounts, focus on work and work in every way. The father placed high hopes of the Yang family's prosperity on Xianzhen, while the mother hoped that her son would get married as soon as possible. He asked someone to talk about a matchmaker, and it quickly became a marriage. The woman lives in Zhanjiaping, which is located one slope from Anyangkou. The girl's name is Zhan Yuzhen, who is three years older than Yang Xianzhen. "A woman in junior high school, holding gold bricks", my mother was satisfied with this marriage by 100 times.

But Yang Xianzhen did not get married immediately according to his parents' wishes, and he still wanted to continue studying. I only stayed at home for a year. In the summer of the following year, I took the assumption to go to the county town to sell silk, and took the exam for " Yunshan Middle School " ( Yunyang Middle School , the same below).

At that time, Yunshan Middle School was an institution with a history of more than 300 years. The institution was founded in the 26th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty and was named "Yunshan Academy". In the 30th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1904), Eshan Academy was renamed "Yunyang Prefecture Normal School". In 1912, the Qing government was overthrown and the year name was changed to the first year of the Republic of China. The old school also had the new name "Yunshan Middle School".

Yang Xianzhen's test scores were excellent and was on the list. It was not until this time that parents knew about their son’s studies. At that time, it was a great event to get into middle school, and its glory was no less than that of being admitted to tribute student . Yunxian (called "Yunyang" at the time) is the seat of the Yunyang Prefecture prefecture. There are only one prefecture and six counties. There is only one higher education institution, which is Yunshan Middle School. There are only 20 or 30 students admitted every year (from six counties); carp leaping over the dragon gate, how easy it is! The villagers in Anyangkou were all happy for Yang family . The congratulations made Yang Tingrui laugh from ear to ear. While trying hard to raise his face and scold his son for not taking his parents' words in his heart, he was busy rushing around to collect funds for his son to go to school.

One place of water and soil nourishes the other person. The Yunxian town surrounded by Hanshui provided rich cultural nutrition to Yang Xianzhen when she was young. Yunxian is located at the convergence of north and south of China. The Yellow River culture and the Yangtze River culture blend here to form a more timeless national culture. The common people here are both the boldness of the northerners and the meticulousness of the southerners, such as the water of the Han River that nurtured them, deep and mellow.

Yang Xianzhen's mother, Li, is a typical representative of a woman in Yun County. She always focuses on hard work and kindness, and always understands others with the best intentions; her personality is similar to the Han River in autumn, and she hides deep love and deep power under the calm river.

A small part of Yang Xianzhen's character comes from his father, and most of it is given to him by his respectable mother.

Yunshan Middle School is built on Yunshan in the north gate, facing north and south, facing high and quiet environment. Standing at the school gate, you can overlook the panoramic view of the ancient Yunxian County Town, and the small stone streets are clearly counted. Outside the west gate, the south gate and the east gate are surrounded by a high river embankment, which is connected to the ancient city wall. The sand on the beach under the river bank is clean. The river water is blue, reflecting the long sky and flowing clouds. There is a sail with patches on the river. On the other side of the river are Tianma Rock, Gubangyan , and a Baota Mountain. On the rock wall of Tianma Rock, three giant bricks were embedded in the place where birds could not stop. Legend has it that this is the entrance door for the golden Tianma to enter and exit. The hanging rock is like a high wall posting the imperial list, with lines of irrecognizable words printed on it. Baota Mountain has beautiful mountains and lush trees; the eleventh level blue brick pagoda reflects the Han River even longer. These pictures left an endless memory in Yang Xianzhen's mind.

At Yunshan Middle School, Yang Xianzhen met several classmates and friends including Zhu Dongyang, Bu Tianyou. Zhu Dongyang is a 4-year-old from Zhushan County. He is several years older than Yang Xianzhen. He is nicknamed "Old Master" by his classmates. He studied poetry and books hard since he was a child, and he was determined to be a scholar and passed the imperial examination. However, he abolished the imperial examination system in , the 1911 Revolution, and he had to change his course to apply for the new school. His ancient Chinese background is deep, and Yang Xianzhen often asks him for advice and has benefited a lot. Bu Tianyou lives in Yunxian Town. He has a lively personality and humorous conversation, which often makes people laugh. Classmates are young and in their prime. Whenever they talk about national affairs together, they are passionate and enthusiastic.

Yun County is an ancient city with a long history. As early as more than 1,000 BC, there was a city here, which was the capital of countries and countries (to be tested). By the Ming Dynasty, Yunyang City had become the economic, cultural and transportation center in northwestern Hubei. In the 12th year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (1472), the court established Yunyang Prefecture, which was located in Yunxian County, and governed six counties, including Yunxian County (called Yunyang County at the time), Junxian County, Yunxi, Zhushan , Zhuxi , Fang County . After the founding of the palace, Yunyang City was built, with many yamen, temples, pavilions and towers, leaving many famous places and historical sites for later generations. By the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, with the development of handicrafts and commerce such as mining (mainly gold digging), silk weaving, and oil pressing (mainly sesame oil and tung oil), Yunyang City built a number of magnificent commercial halls, carved buildings and painted beams, and glazed tiles, which made the long bluestone slabs look more vivid.

In the late Qing Dynasty, the government was corrupt and Yunyang City, with many colorful and majestic buildings, had long become a beggar in a beautiful cloak, and the lives of the people were miserable. The Qing Dynasty was overthrown and the Republic of China was established. People's faces just showed smiles, and were pushed into the abyss of even more suffering by the warlords' levies and levies. Faced with the cold reality, Yang Xianzhen was worried. He and several friends founded the "Journal of Yunyang" to write articles, hold speeches, and explore the path of enriching the country and strengthening the people.

Yang Xianzhen also has a good friend named Yan Shaojiu . Yan Shaojiu was 13 years older than Yang Xianzhen's mistress and was still a senior high school student at that time. Although he is young, he is a small person and has a great ambition. He vows to do his whole life to the prosperity and strength of China. Yan Shaojiu's father is a famous old Chinese doctor in Yuncheng and loves to collect books. Yang Xianzhen often goes to Yan’s house to read books, but when he is fascinated by reading, he forgets time and forgets to eat. It was summer vacation, and Yang Xianzhen did not go home. She stayed in the county to work and earned tuition, and sometimes stayed at Yan's house. The Yan family likes Yang Xianzhen very much. Although this student from the township has patches on his clothes, he studied hard, had excellent grades, and was calm and heavy in his words and demeanor, which was impressive.

The collection of Yan's books not only includes antique thread-bound books, but also many new books and magazines that Yang Xianzhen cannot put down. From these books and magazines, he met a large number of patriots and kind people, including Kang Youwei , Liang Qichao , Tan Sitong , Sun Yat-sen, Zou Rong , and was deeply moved by their concern for the country and the people. Whenever he recites Zou Rong's "Revolutionary Army", he is very excited... Yang Xianzhen, who grew up by the Han River, is a good player in swimming. While studying in Yuncheng, he often asked his classmates and friends to hit the Han River, then strolled on the beach, and discussed national affairs enthusiastically.

The most unforgettable autumn of 1914, two days before the Double Ninth Festival, Yang Xianzhen and several friends came to Kuixing Tower in the south of the city to climb high and look into the distance.

Kuixing Tower stands tall at the intersection of the east city wall and the south city wall. It has an octagonal three-layer wooden structure building, and is called "South Corner Tower" by the city people. This is an ancient building with a tall shape. On three floors, the eaves on each floor are arched in nine steps, stretching freely, like nine-petal lotus flowers. There are golden beads hanging under each floor of eaves, which bring wind from all directions all year round, making the golden beads jingle. On the eaves are golden phoenixes, rising to fly with the sound of the golden doul. The thick pillars are all vermilion-colored. The three-layer eaves are covered with glazed tiles and , and the top layer is a gold tiled roof, which emits a dazzling brilliance under the sunlight. Upon climbing the third floor, he saw a Kui Xing-yeon standing south, holding a red pen in his hand, stepping on the head of the turtle, and looking forward to the worship of the literati and poets.

Standing on Kuixing Pavilion, looking north, there is a delicate Wenfeng Tower outside the small east gate of the ancient city wall; facing south, it is the Pole Star Tower (i.e. Baota Mountain) on the other side of the Han River. The tower shadow is clear and reflected on the blue river surface. The two towers in the north and south are opposite to the Kuixing Tower, which is in line with the meaning of "three stars shine brightly". In the past, every time I came to visit, everyone would talk and laugh, and recite poems and essays and answer them to me.Today is different. Yang Xianzhen talked about state affairs with his friends, and each of them couldn't help but sigh.

Who can forget the inspiring moment three years ago? On August 19, the third year of Xuantong (October 10, 1911), the Wuchang Uprising raised the banner of the People's Republic. Yunxian County was the first to respond, picking off the Huanglong Banner and raising the Iron Blood Eighteen Star Banner (afterwards, various provinces responded to the uprising and changed to the five-color flags of red, yellow, blue, white and black, symbolizing the five-span republic). At that time, the people of Yun County were so happy and encouraging, and scholars were even more ecstatic. Fortunately, ancient China ended its feudal rule for thousands of years, and the new system of democratic republic will surely lead the people to the road to prosperity and well-being. On New Year's Day in 1912, Sun Yat-sen was appointed as the interim president and used the Gregorian calendar to record the year. Firecrackers were fired in the city, and residents at Anyangkou also hung the five-color flag in front of the door to celebrate the New Year. A few days later, the government of the Republic of China held its first election. Cai Yuanpei, 44 years old, strong and respected by the Chinese people, became the chief of education and implemented reforms to the old feudal education system (the name of the "school" was changed to "school", which is one of the reform contents; "Yunyang Prefecture Normal School" was therefore renamed "Yunshan Middle School"). It was at this time that a teacher who had supported Sun Yat-sen for many years and was enthusiastic about the National Revolution was sent to Yunshan Middle School as principal. This person's name is Liu Jinzhang, from Fang County, mountainous area in northwestern Hubei. Principal Liu was loved by teachers and students, and Yunshan Middle School became a fragrant grassland for the national revolution. Unexpectedly, the good times did not last long. Yuan Shikai stole the position of president of the Republic of China. Soon, the education chief Cai Yuanpei resigned in anger. Principal Liu of Yunshan Middle School was also affected and forced to leave the school gate. The people's joy was destroyed in an instant, and Yunxian became a lamb under the sword of a warlord. Zhang, the new principal of Yunshan Middle School, is an opium smoker. He colluded with warlords and evil gentry, did everything he wanted to eat, drink, beg for, and bet on all kinds of evil, and made things difficult for progressive students. In such an environment, how can you calm down and study?

The sun shines brightly, the golden wind brings joy, and the sound of the golden pedestal under the eaves of Kuixing Pavilion is like crying and complaining. The water of the Han River is as blue as a jade belt, and the mountain of the Baota is as beautiful as a goddess. The mountains and rivers are beautiful, and the sky is breeze cannot wash away the sorrow in the hearts of the classmates and young people.

The understanding Bu Tianyou looked at the frowning Yang Xianzhen and said, "Forget it, friends, let's not talk about state affairs today, be happy. Listen to me, let's tell you a joke first. Smile, you're young!"

Bu Tianyou told this little story-

On the night of the middle of winter, three passengers came to an inn in a small country town, namely Deng County, Henan, Jun County, Hubei, and Yunyang, Hubei. There is only one bed left in the inn, and the waiter said, "Handle, please recite two lines of poetry. Whoever recites high will sleep on the high bed, and the remaining two will sleep on the floor."

The three passengers had no objection to the waiter's suggestions. Deng County people chanted first:

"There is a Dengzhou Tower in Deng County, which is only eight feet eight from the sky."

A Dengzhou Tower is really tall enough. The people of Junxian are not showing weakness. He chanted higher than those of Dengxian:

"There is a Wudang Mountain in Junxian, which is only three feet away from the sky."

It was in the last turn of Yunxian . He was calm and said with one glance:

"There is a bell and drum tower in Yunxian, half of which is inserted into the sky!"

The people of Dengxian and Junxian are willing to accept the disadvantage, and they watched the people of Yunxian slept at the high shop with a proud look.

Bu Tianyou's story received the expected results. The students were proud of the intelligence of Yunxian people and laughed happily. But Yang Xianzhen was still frowning and had a serious face.

Although Yang Xianzhen was only 18 years old at this time, she had grown into a strong and tall man, half a head taller than his classmates and friends. In addition to his thick hands and feet, and his often tightly closed, he gave people the impression of being kind and honest and mature. After listening to Bu Tianyou's story, he pondered for a long time and suddenly sighed:

"Just being able to brag is not a real skill. Bragging is just a high shop to exchange for a comfortable and sleepy relationship. It is a false fame and profit. If you want to achieve great things, you must be honest and down-to-earth."

As the saying goes: The article is like the person. In fact, it is not only an article, but also a person's words and behaviors are consistent with his nature and cultivation. Yang Xianzhen's honesty and seriousness were developed since childhood. It is precisely because he opposes talking big and lies, and because he only loves to tell the truth all his life, that he has experienced ups and downs in his life, but he does not regret it.
