Therefore, the Sikkim Kingdom became the target of India's expansion: India first sent a commissioner to Sikkim in 1947, and at the same time, India also instigated some Sikkim people to seize the past authority of Sikkim. A series of measures in India have led to turmoil in Sikkim. So India took this opportunity to send troops into Sikkim in 1949. Under the bayonet of Indians, Sikkim took office as a new prime minister. And this prime minister is Indian.
The Prime Minister of the Sikkim Kingdom was Indian, which was absolutely hard to imagine in the 20th century. You should know that when Nazi Germany captured France, it did not say that it appointed a German to be the French president. Immediately afterwards, India coerced Sikkim to recognize that it was India's protector. At the same time, Sikkim wanted to hand over the powers of national defense, military, diplomatic, and finance to India for management. Compared with India, Indians have absolute strength. In the face of absolute strength, the Sikkim had to swallow his anger at first. This year was 1950.

So, in 1974, the Indians revised Sikkim's laws through the Indian-sponsored Sikkim for a while, and then, in the second year, the Indians placed house arrest by the Sikkim monarch, and then manipulated the referendum to coerce Sikkim and India. The final result is conceivable: the result of the referendum is that the "Sikkim people" advocate deposing the Sikkim monarchy, abolishing Sikkim's sovereignty, and then merging with Sikkim. In this way, the Sikkim Kingdom was actually annexed by India.
3, Sikkim status
