In 1835, Cixi was born in a poor Han Chinese peasant family in Xipo Village, Changzhi County, Shanxi Province. His parents named him "Wang Xiaoqing". Due to the poor living and preferring boys over girls, the 4-year-old "Wang Xiaoqing" was sold by his parents to a family named Song in Shangqin Village, Changzhi County as his daughter, and changed his name to "Song Ling'e". When she was 13 years old, she was sold to the local prefect Huizheng as a slave and changed her name to "Magnolia". Because she has been graceful since childhood, she has been deeply loved by Zheng Zheng. She specially asked someone to teach her how to train her with music, chess, calligraphy and painting, and continue to grow. In 1852, 17-year-old Cixi was lucky enough to be elected to the palace as the daughter of Yehenara Huizheng, and from then on, her legendary and extraordinary life began.

However, the year before Cixi entered the palace, her biological father died of illness. She lost her father at a young age, which was pitiful. As the eldest daughter in the family, because her family is poor, she and her family can only ask for help from outsiders. Just as a kind person in the local area funded their family with 200 yuan in cash, and then the family barely buried their deceased father. At this point, Cixi, who had experienced ups and downs since childhood, remembered that kind-hearted person. Many years later, she became successful and indeed gave her a heavy thank-you and a higher salary. But who knew that after entering the palace, Cixi's life ushered in more thrilling, and the palace struggles continued, and since ancient times, it was the most ruthless imperial family! The luck and misfortune of Cixi in her life were all in the displaced and swords and shadows of the late Qing Dynasty.
