Red agent is a specific noun, referring to underground party members who invaded the enemy's army before the liberation of the whole of China. In 1945, Xie Hanguang secretly joined the Communist Party of China in Hong Kong. In 1949, as an agricultural expert, he followed the Kuomintang to evacuate to Taiwan. On the surface, he was an ordinary staff member of the Lotus Pond Branch, and secretly he was engaged in underground party intelligence work.
Until 1950, a large number of red agents were exposed, and he also lost contact with the organization. Xie Hanguang, who noticed the danger, was forced to flee. He went to a remote mountain village in Taiwan. With his rich forestry knowledge, he was attracted by the local village chief.
The village chief enthusiastically helped him hide, and even helped him replace the identity of a long-lost villager in the village. Therefore, Xie Hanguang changed his name to Ye Yikui and continued to lurk in order to plan for the development of this remote mountain village.
