After learning about this, Chairman Mao immediately said: I think has been expanded. We must correct this wrong approach quickly. Our policy is not to kill one, and most of them will not be arrested!
Chairman Mao attached great importance to this matter. He not only expressed his opinion, but also took the initiative to take responsibility for the deviations in the work of reviewing cadres in Yan'an. took off his hat and bowed and apologized to the comrades who were hurt by mistakes at the meeting many times. The handling of this matter is the first evidence of Chairman Mao’s cleverness : He never pushes the people in his team to the enemy’s camp, because he has a clear and accurate understanding of who is his enemy and who is his friend at any time. During this period, the Japanese invaders were the enemy, and all those who were willing to fight against Japan were their own friends.
At this moment, news came that Communist International was disbanded. This news can actually be said to be true and good news for Chairman Mao. As we all know, for a long time, Wang Ming and others suppressed and excluded Chairman Mao by carrying the signature of the Communist International. It can be said that the pain and harm caused to Chairman Mao by the Communist International was long-term and painful.
But Chairman Mao never expressed any happiness in public because of the dissolution of the Communist International. Because as a great politician, Chairman Mao never puts his feelings above reason. In his heart, he did not agree with the Communist International, but at the Yan'an Cadre Conference, Chairman Mao still fully affirmed that the Communist International had made great contributions to the help of the Chinese revolution.

Internal problems must be resolved by themselves and cannot be announced to the public, otherwise it will not benefit us, only disadvantages.
Chairman Mao believes that the enemy's happiest thing is to see sharp contradictions and conflicts between the Communist International and the Communist Party of China. Therefore, we cannot let the enemy succeed. The more we support what the enemy supports, the more we must oppose it; the more we oppose it, the more we must support it. This is the second evidence of Chairman Mao’s brilliant mind.
As expected, Chiang Kai-shek, who did not seriously fight against Japan but was thinking about dealing with the Communist Party of China all day long, heard the news of the dissolution of the Communist International. believed that this was a godsend opportunity to destroy the Communist Party of China. He quickly used the dissolution of the Communist International as an excuse to create public opinion everywhere, demanding the abolition of the Communist Party of China and the cancellation of the border area ; at the same time, he quickly mobilized more than 20 divisions of troops to prepare for a surprise attack on the border area , and the situation suddenly became serious again.
Chairman Mao’s handling of this matter was extremely clever: as soon as he received the information, he quickly made emergency arrangements. When Chairman Mao slowly won the recognition of the whole party through his own abilities and efforts, he finally gained leadership. Therefore, Chairman Mao set the main theme of unity for the Yan'an Rectification Movement and determined the Rectification Movement policy of "punishing the past and preventing the future, curing the disease and saving the patient".
