"'Little Maomao' will definitely be more capable than me in the future. You see, he has two 'mao', I have one "mao", he has one more than me." Chairman Mao happily joked to the people around him with a doll in his arms.
This "little Maomao" that is loved by Chairman Mao is Mao Anyong, the child he and He Zizhen gave birth to in the Central Soviet Area. After the start of the Long March , Chairman Mao was forced to leave the child in Ruijin and hand it over to his younger brother Mao Zetan and his younger sister He Yi to raise.
Not long after, Ruijin fell, and in order not to let "Little Maomao" be discovered by the enemy, Mao Zetan placed him in his fellow villager's home for foster care. He himself unfortunately died in a guerrilla operation, and "Little Maomao" lost contact because of this.
After the founding of New China, Chairman Mao and He Zizhen searched for "Little Maomao" many times, but they all returned in vain. But in 1953, the relevant personnel found a child who looked very much like "Little Maomao".
What difficulties did you experience in the process of finding your child? Will this child be Chairman Mao’s son Mao Anyong? Did he finally recognize Chairman Mao?
searched for maomao and found clues
1957, "Zhu Daolai" was admitted to Tsinghua University with excellent results and studied science and engineering. After graduation, he came to work in the scientific research institute and his career was booming.
. The biological parents of this excellent child are unknown. He has been fostered by Shuai Mengqi for a long time, and his life experience has always been confusing. Two mothers once joined the "dispute" for him, one of them was Chairman Mao's lover He Zizhen.
He Zizhen believes that Zhu Daolai is his son Mao Anyong, but soon after, another revolutionary widow came to claim Zhu Daolai. Both sides expressed their opinions and believed that this baby was his child.
The story of this relative recognition starts from 1953.
Jiangxi Governor Shao Shiping felt that the incident was urgent after seeing this letter.
He immediately notified the secretary to ask the director of the Civil Affairs Department to come to his office to discuss the matter. and the two finally decided to hand over the task to the cadres of the preferential and relief department Wang Jiazhen .
He Zizhen
Wang Jiazhen felt very stressed after receiving the task. He felt that as a soldier, he had no reason to refuse this difficult task.
Wang Jiazhen also learned during a conversation with Director Zhu that He Zizhen’s sister, Mao Zetan’s wife He Yi. In order to find "Little Maomao", she encountered a car accident on the road. The car fell into a 3-meter-deep ditch. He Yi died on the spot at the age of 38.
This sad news made it difficult for Wang Jiazhen to let go. He immediately made a decision that he would do his best to find Chairman Mao’s child.
In fact, as early as when Wang Jiazhen was in the army, he heard veterans tell the stories of Chairman Mao and He Zizhen.
Mao Zetan and He Yi
Chairman Mao and He Zizhen became acquainted during the Jinggangshan period. Later, they fought together in the Central Soviet Area for another 6 years, and He Zizhen gave birth to 6 children for Chairman Mao.
The war at that time was extremely complicated, and the situation at that time did not allow He Zizhen to bring her children with her. Before the start of the Long March, for the sake of the children, "Little Maomao" was left in Ruijin.
Wang Jiazhen admires this elder sister who has been in the revolution since the Jinggangshan period and deeply sympathizes with her bumpy fate.
Chairman Mao and He Zizhen
Now the organization has given him such an important task, he has no reason to refuse. If it can be completed smoothly and helping Senior He Zizhen, it will be a great comfort to her.
Thinking of this, Wang Jiazhen was immediately excited. He immediately expressed his opinion to Director Zhu: No matter how difficult it is, even if he travels to every corner of Ruijin and asks every common people in Ruijin, he will find out the whereabouts of "Little Maomao".
Not long after taking over the task, Wang Jiazhen carried his bag and arrived at Ruijin, the hinterland of Gannan .
Ruijin
Ruijin was the location of the Central Soviet Area during the revolutionary period. It was the birthplace of early revolutionaries of the Communist Party’s revolutionaries to explore the path of governing the country, and created many commendable achievements. In that turbulent era, Ruijin naturally left behind many descendants of revolutionary ancestors.
Wang Jiazhen took the introduction letter and found the Ruijin County Government and explained his work tasks to the local person in charge. The local person in charge also made it clear to him that he would fully support all his work in Ruijin County.
A few days later, the Ruijin County Government convened local veterans from the Central Soviet Area to participate in this meeting of finding "Little Maomao", and Wang Jiazhen also attended the meeting.
The old Red Army soldiers present recalled the past before the Long March, and talked about the fact that many Red Army cadres would send their children to their fellow villagers' homes. When Wang Jiazhen asked whom the house "Little Maomao" was sent, no one in the audience knew.
An old Red Army soldier said that at that time, the Red Army cadres had all secrets for storing children. They were afraid that the Kuomintang army would persecute them after they knew the news about the children, so it was difficult for people at that time to know whose children went where they were.
After the Red Army set out for the Long March, the Kuomintang army cooperated with the local militia to carry out multiple massacres in the Central Soviet Area, and many descendants of the Red Army were brutally killed. Even if those who survived by luck, most of them died of illness due to the harsh environment.
Wang Jiazhen was very hit after hearing this. First of all, the old Red Army at the symposium didn’t know the news about “Little Maomao”; secondly, they were all pessimistic about “Little Maomao” being able to survive until now.
Wang Jiazhen is very worried whether the traces of Maomao can be found during this trip to Ruijin. After thinking about it, he decided to come to Ruijin County to check the information. After his careful search, he finally found some traces in the "Ruijin County Chronicles".
It is recorded here that in 1934, Mao Zedong had a child hidden in Ruijin, which also proves from the other side that Wang Jiazhen's decision was correct.
On the evening of that day, Wang Jiazhen got an important clue while chatting with local villagers. Zhu Shengti, a villager in Zhufang Village, raised the descendants of the Red Army.
Wang Jiazhen was very excited when she heard this, and went to Zhufang Village for verification the next morning.
After Wang Jiazhen's inquiry, Zhu Shengtai and his wife said that they did raise a Red Army child in October 1934. Because they came halfway, they named him "Zhu Daolai".
But this child named "Zhu Daolai" is not at home now and was taken to Nanjing by Zhu Yueqian, the widow of martyr Huo Buqing .
Wang Jiazhen was very surprised. He sat down and listened to Zhu Shengtai and his wife telling the story of "Little Maomao" being fostered.
1934, the large Red Army troops had left Ruijin and left the Central Soviet Area. The departure of the Red Army made the local people feel very heavy. They knew in their hearts that the Kuomintang troops would soon be invaded and that the days ahead would be sad.
Zhu Shengtai and his wife were eating sweet potato porridge at home when they suddenly heard a dog barking outside. Two Red Army cadres entered his home directly, one holding a child in his hand and the other carrying a bag.
After the introduction of the village cadres, a Red Army said to Zhu Shengtai and his wife:
"This child is a child of the Red Army. Now we are going to evacuate. It is dangerous for the child to take it away. Please help raise the child."

Zhu Shengtai and his wife did not recover for a while, and suddenly a child appeared at home.
They focused their attention on this child. Although he cried very sadly, his appearance was very beautiful. Wearing a cotton jacket made of military uniforms makes people feel very distressed.
Huang Yueying didn't wait for her husband to nod, and directly carried the child from the Red Army's hands and wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes. The Red Army was very pleased when they saw it, and once again expressed their gratitude to the couple, and turned around and left Zhu Shengtai's home.
In fact, the central government decided to let Zhu Shengtai and his wife raise this child after careful consideration.

In their opinion, Zhu Shengtai is honest and down-to-earth and willing to work hard. Although their family is poor, they are also working hard to raise their children and manage their families very vigorously. Zhu Shengtai also participated in folk armed forces, and his faith was firm and worthy of relying on.
After Zhu Shengtai and his wife agreed to raise the child, considering that the Kuomintang army was about to invade in, in order to protect the safety of the child, they named him "Zhu Daolai", which means the child picked up halfway.
Although the environment is dangerous and life is difficult, the couple did not disappoint the Red Army's instructions and raised their children wholeheartedly.

What worries the couple the most is the personal safety of this child. You should know that in such an environment, it is extremely difficult to protect a descendant of the Red Army. Some village cadres were so obsessed with greed that they used this to threaten Zhu Shengtai's family to pay the hush money.
The village security chief is such a person. For the safety of the child, Zhu Shengtai collected 100 dan of valley and 200 silver dollars , and finally blocked the security chief's mouth.
One night in 1935, it was particularly cold outside. Zhu Shengtai heard the barking of the dog at home and knew that something was wrong outside.

He hurriedly put on his clothes, wrapped himself in a quilt with a "Zhu Daolai" and walked out of the house. He came to a temple outside the village and waited until dawn, and Zhu Shengtai was frozen and fell seriously ill.
Zhu Shengtai and his wife have put in a lot of effort in the 19 years of raising their children, and they have even put in more effort than their own children. They insisted on providing him with his studies, allowing him to complete the primary and middle schools smoothly.
At this moment, a woman from Nanjing walked into Zhu Shengtai's home. She told the couple that she was here to pick up her children.
This woman was Huo Buqing's lover in the Soviet area government. Her husband unfortunately died in a battle, and her child was also stayed in Ruijin at that time.

Zhu Shengtai and his wife thought to themselves that they have fulfilled their responsibilities of raising them. Now that someone has come to claim the child, they should return it to them. Besides, Zhu Dao came and went to Nanjing, and his life must be better than now.
For the sake of the growth of the child, the couple asked the middle-aged woman to take Zhu Dao to Nanjing.
Wang Jiazhen felt a little cold when she heard this. But because this clue is hard-won, he still asked for photos from Zhu Shengtai and his wife, and wanted to hand them over to Sister He to check the information about the child.
found "Little Maomao" and brought it back to Shanghai
. After returning to the station, Wang Jiazhen reported the information to Director Zhu as soon as possible, and Director Zhu immediately reported to Jiangxi Provincial Government .
After receiving this important clue, the Jiangxi Provincial Government drafted an emergency call to Organization Department . sent them a photo of a boy with a age and appearance similar to "Little Maomao" and asked them to identify it. After receiving the message, the Organization Department of the Central Committee of
immediately handed over the information and photos of "Zhu Daolai" to He Zizhen for secondary verification. After seeing the materials submitted by the Organization Department of the Central Committee, He Zizhen felt that the child in the photo looked very similar to Mao Anyong.
She asked the organization whether could arrange for the adoptive mother of "Zhu Daolai" to bring her children to Shanghai. She wanted to see with her own eyes whether the child was her "little maomao".
He Zizhen
Not long after, under the arrangement of the Jiangxi Provincial Government, Zhu Daolai returned to his hometown in Jiangsu from Nanjing, and finally Wang Jiazhen took Zhu Shengtai and his family from Jiangxi to Shanghai.
When "Zhu Daolai" stood in front of He Zizhen, He Zizhen tried hard to control her emotions and carefully looked at the boy in front of her.
Suddenly she burst into tears, looking at the child in front of her, saying tremblingly:
"This is my child Maomao."
He Zizhen
That night, He Zizhen and Huang Yueying slept together. The two mothers kept chatting, and there was a lot of content about the growth of "Little Maomao". When they were in love, their eyes were filled with tears.
The news that He Zizhen found Mao Anyong quickly spread. He Zizhen's brother He Minxue and his wife Li Liying came to visit him. After they talked to "Zhu Daolai", they all thought that this child was Mao Anyong.
Later, many important leaders of the central government came to visit He Zizhen and congratulated her on finding her son.
He Minxue
He Minxue also proposed that he could take "Zhu Daolai" to the hospital for blood tests and further verify his identity.
Fortunately, after the test results came out, it was found that the blood type of "Zhu Daolai" was very consistent with He Zizhen. After He Zizhen knew this result, she could basically confirm that "Zhu Daolai" was the "little maomao" she had been looking for for many years.
While Zhu Shengtai's family was in Shanghai, He Minxue warmly treated them. As long as they are free, they will take them and He Zizhen to their homes and make some delicious food for them. Li Liying often takes Zhu Shengtai's family to travel around.
Zhu Shengtai's family, who had just come to a big city, had a lot of fun under the leadership of Li Liying. They gradually integrated into the He Zizhen family, and the whole family got along very well.
But this warm atmosphere did not last long, and an accident happened.
"Zhu Daolai" is "Little Maomao"
Not long after, Zhu Yueqian, the widow of the martyr who brought the child back to Nanjing before He Zizhen, stood up again, insisted that "Zhu Daolai" was the child of himself and her husband Huo Buqing.
East China Bureau After learning the news, he believed that this matter was of great importance and involved the fate of two revolutionary families. They are all mothers of children and they all want to find their own children.
But who does this child belong to? The cadres of the East China Bureau need to make a fair judgment without hurting the emotions of the mothers of the two children.
Zhu Daolai
In order to find out this matter, the East China Bureau established a special investigation team, and Zhao Shangzhi was responsible for the investigation. The motherhood of both parties is extremely special, and Zhao Shangzhi cannot easily draw conclusions.
Zhao Shangzhi came to He Zizhen's residence to find out the situation. At this time, Zhu Daolai's adoptive mother Huang Yueying had just been taken to her home in Shanghai by He Zizhen. He Zizhen took great care of Huang Yueying and arranged her life very well.
Zhao Shangzhi asked Huang Yueying about the incident. When he asked the question "Whose child belongs to?" Huang Yueying affirmatively replied: " is of course Chairman Mao's! "
This reply added complexity to the incident. Huang Yueying insisted that "Zhu Daolai" was Chairman Mao's child. The conversation reached the end, Huang Yueying simply asked Zhu Yueqian’s questions and refused to give any answer.
Zhao Shangzhi saw that the problem was difficult to solve, so he sent an emergency telegram to Jiangxi Governor Shao Shiping, asking the local government to assist in further investigation.
He Zizhen and He Yi
This task was sent to Director Zhu of the Civil Affairs Department again. Director Zhu sent Wang Jiazhen to investigate and collect evidence again. He later sorted out the collected evidence and sent it to the East China Bureau.
After seeing the materials, the East China Bureau found that it contained the collective signatures of the people in Ruijin County, and collectively supported He Zizhen to recognize his child.
What is even more coincidental is that Zhu Daolai's nickname is "Xiaomao", and one of his small cotton jackets is very similar to what He Zizhen sews to "Xiaomao".
After Zhao Shangzhi saw the materials, he felt that he had no idea about this matter for a while. He reported this issue to the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and asked him to come forward to coordinate the child's ownership.
Although this was a bit of a big deal at that time, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee still took the parties involved in the incident to Beijing and investigated and dealt with the matter.
The Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee ordered that "Zhu Daolai" and Huang Yueying go to Beijing. Zhao Shangzhi and others were also ordered to come to Beijing with Wang Jiazhen and become guests of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Before "Zhu Daolai" and three others left Shanghai, He Zizhen went to the train station to see them off in person. She looked at the child she had just recognized, and her mood was surging.
He Zizhen
She held the hand of "Zhu Daolai" at the door of the station and said, " Good boy, remember to write to my mother after arriving in Beijing. When I see my father, remember to say hello to him and bring my blessings to him."
"Zhu Daolai" During her stay in Beijing, many leaders in Beijing came to visit the child. They were very concerned about the child's growth and asked about his various situations.
At the same time, Zhu Yueqian also came to Beijing. She had a very tough attitude towards the Organization Department of the Central Committee, believing that "Zhu Daolai" is her own child and she must bring the child back.
She went to the guesthouse to cause trouble unreasonably, which had a great impact on "Zhu Daolai"'s life in Beijing.
Premier Zhou reported this farce to Chairman Mao, and Chairman Mao's mood was greatly affected after hearing this.
As a stakeholder of the incident, he had extremely complicated emotions about this matter, but his high emotional intelligence and overall situation could allow him to handle this farce calmly and impartially.
Chairman Mao said after hearing this:
"This matter ends here. No matter whose child he is, he is a descendant of the revolution. If this situation cannot be resolved, he can hand it over to the organization and the people to raise it. Relevant departments should not intensify the conflicts and hurt the hearts of parents and children on both sides."
The Organization Department of the Central Committee considered that "Zhu Daolai" has been running around in various places for a while and has not studied normally for a long time. For the sake of the future development of the child, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee decided to let the child stay in Beijing and live with Shuai Mengqi.
Huang Yueying was very sad after receiving the processing results. She cried even more when she saw the emotional out of control of "Zhu Daolai" and cried.
Speaking of Shuai Mengqi, her family adopted many descendants of revolutionary martyrs and was a central cadre with very life experience.
"Zhu Daolai" was later arranged by the state to study at Tsinghua High School . The reading atmosphere here is very good, the academic level is high, and the teacher teaches it very seriously.
"Zhu Daolai" cherishes this opportunity very much. He studies hard and improves his cultural literacy. Not long after, his homework has made great progress.
After graduating from high school, Zhu Daolai lived up to expectations and was admitted to Tsinghua University. After graduating from , he also worked as he wished and did not let Shuai Meng down. Strange cultivation.
Later, his body began to deteriorate and died in Nanjing in 1971.
As for whether Chairman Mao’s youngest son Mao Anyong had found this, we can emotionally explain that the child has been found. "Zhu Daolai" is Chairman Mao’s "little maomao".
can also infer Mao Anyong’s The identity has not been finalized, and many years of searching for it ended in failure.
In fact, there are many revolutionary descendants like "Zhu Daolai" in life. Their life experience is a mystery, and they may not see their parents in their lives.
Those revolutionaries represented by Chairman Mao chose to give up their families and take care of the whole country for the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party, choose to endure the pain and separate themselves from their flesh and blood, and pursue the path of liberation of China regardless of everything.
And the contributions made by these revolutionary predecessors to the New China are worthy of our eternal praise!
