preface
July 14, 1980, Great Hall of the People In the Xinjiang Hall, a woman in her 40s actually held Marshal Nie Rongzhen's hand tightly with tears in her eyes and shouted towards him: "Dad."
But, Nie Rongzhen's daughter has only one Nie Li, what's wrong with this Japanese girl?
We cannot enjoy the world captured by our fathers
0 In 1930, Nie Li was born in Shanghai. His father Nie Rongzhen was ordered to rush to the Central Soviet Area. At the age of 5, Nie Rongzhen's wife went to northern Shaanxi through organizational arrangements. Nie Li was sent to a poor family in Jiading, suburban county of Shanghai, and was trapped in life. Nie Li learned how to harvest wheat, transplant rice and weaving at a young age, and was later sent to a yarn mill in Jiading to act as a child laborer.
For a long time, she lost contact with her parents. It was not until after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War that 16-year-old Nie Li returned to her parents who had been separated for more than ten years, and was then sent to the "Rongzhen School" just founded in the Liberated Area of Jinchaji. Although she was in the same classroom as children of a very different age than her, Nie Li was not disturbed. Instead, she studied hard and soon became the student with the best grades in the school.

In 1950, Nie Li gloriously joined the Communist Party of China. Five years later, she was admitted to the Leningrad Precision Mechanical and Optical Instruments Academy of the Soviet Union with excellent results. After returning to China, she was assigned to the Fifth Research Institute of the Ministry of National Defense. From then on, she also embarked on the road of striving for the cause of national defense science and technology.
As the only daughter of Marshal Nie Rongzhen, she often said: "The older generation fought bloody battles in the rain of bullets and established a new China. We cannot enjoy the world captured by our parents, and we must truly regard ourselves as builders of the new China." She has been practicing this and has devoted her life to our country's national defense modernization.
So, what's going on with this Japanese woman? This starts with a battle.
Wherever there is oppression, there will be resistance
On August 20, 1940, the Hundred Regiments Battle was officially launched, and Jingxing Coal Mine became the primary target of the Eighth Route Army.
Jingxing Coal Mine was one of the three major coal mines in my country at that time, and its strategic location was extremely important. There was a railway in the mining area to directly connect to the Zhengtai Railway. You could quickly attack Shijiazhuang to the east, and to the west, you could guard the Niangzi Pass natural danger. The most important thing is that it could provide a continuous stream of fuel.

As the front line of Anti-Japanese War was lengthened, Japan added to the plunder of mineral resources in the occupied areas, and Jingxing Coal Mine was the largest position for Japan to plunder coal resources.
In fact, after the riots broke out in Jingxing Coal Mine in 1938, the miners spontaneously established an underground workers guerrilla team led by the Eighth Route Army. The leader of this battle was Yang Chengwu, commander and political commissar of the first division of the Jin-Cha-Hebei Military Region. After careful analysis, Yang Chengwu handed over the main attack task to the 3rd Regiment, the 3rd Regiment had three battalions in total. Therefore, the first battalion was responsible for attacking the new mines, the third battalion was responsible for attacking the old mines, and the battalion was responsible for attacking the Jiazhuang artillery tower not far away.
At dusk, Yang Chengwu turned into a farmer and quietly came to the mining area. Then he carefully reconnaissed the terrain of the mining area. Finally, he finally confirmed the breakthrough point for the attack. In the evening, the three battalions of the Third Regiment quietly crawled forward, and finally arrived at the designated attack position, and then waited for the leader's order.
It was not until ten o'clock in the evening that Yang Chengwu realized that the time was ripe. He directly ordered that the attack officially began. The three battalions launched a charge together and rushed towards the enemy like an eagle falcon. The enemy was beaten to no avatar and soon became a soul under the knife.

This surprise attack not only greatly damaged the confidence of the Japanese army, but also liberated more than 3,000 miners and completely destroyed the Jingxing Coal Mine.
Commander-in-Chief Zhu De also said afterwards: "This victorious battle (referring to the Hundred Regiments War) attack seriously attacked the enemy's conspiracy of "fighting with war". We not only broke the enemy's economic blockade on the anti-Japanese base, but also cut off the enemy's economic transportation and destroyed the enemy's economic development, especially the Jingxing coal mine, so that the enemy could not use the largest coal mine in North China to produce. This is undoubtedly a very serious blow to the enemy."
Although the Eighth Route Army captured the Jingxing coal mine controlled by Japan, the Japanese army rushed to jump over the wall, and despite the fact that there were still Japanese overseas Chinese in the mine, they frantically fired fire into the mining area. At that time, two soldiers from the Jin-Cha-Hebei Military Region troops tried their best to save the two children in the fierce artillery fire.
General and Orphan
Looking at these two Japanese little babies, Yang Chengwu was panicked. He didn't know how to deal with these two children, and he had no way to let it go directly. Putting aside the others, these are two living lives! He cannot decide their life and death at will. He was silent for a long time and finally made a decision.

"Commander Nie, the commander Yang Chengwu of the Central Column, called from Jingxing Station, and asked you to answer the phone."
Nie Rongzhen heard it and immediately answered the phone. As soon as it was connected, Yang Chengwu's urgent voice came: "Commander? The soldiers of the Third Regiment and First Battalion rescued two Japanese children from the house that the deputy stationmaster of Jingxing Railway Station exploded. The only one is the big one. At the age of five or six, the young man is still in the stage of breastfeeding, but the children's parents have been killed and the troops cannot take care of the children. What should the commander do? "
These two children not only stumped Yang Chengwu, but also stumped Nie Rongzhen. It can be said that for so many years of war, such a thing is unprecedented. It has been discovered that the children have happened on the battlefield, but it is a bit bad for these two children to be Japanese. If it were anyone, they would not know what to do.
The phone was silent for a long time. Yang Chengwu couldn't wait there and urged repeatedly: "Commander, what should I do? Please make a decision."
Nie Rongzhen's head was also brainstorming . After a while, he said: "In this way, you send someone to send these two children to me first. Although their parents are invaders, the children are innocent and cannot be implicated innocently."
Picture|Nie Rongzhen's youth photo
War is cruel. I don't know how many elderly and children have suffered. However, in Nie Rongzhen, he did not have eyes for eyes for teeth for teeth, but showed a humanitarian spirit.
In fact, the people who followed him at that time also reminded : "The enemy is a Japanese imperialist and must be wiped out, but these children are innocent..."
Yang Chengwu moved faster. Before he could wait, he sent the two children to Nie Rongzhen.
For the first time we met, the two children were put in the basket by the Eighth Route Army. Nie Rongzhen looked at the child with messy hair. She was about five or six years old, wearing long striped flowery clothes, her eyes were full of alert, but she looked at the adult who was several heads bigger than her, staring at the person with a blink of an eye.
Another child is just a baby who is only a few months old. However, her heel is covered with thick gauze, and her heel is injured by the blow. The child does not recognize the taste of sorrow and is relatively sleepy. Therefore, she slept very well in the cradle, with carefree face on her face, as if everything around her had nothing to do with her.
Nie Rongzhen took the baby, and his subordinates gently looked at the explosion wound carefully, and then covered her forehead with his hand without a fever.

Looking at these two little girls, he couldn't help but think of his daughter Nie Li, who is now ignorant of life and death. After so many years, he really missed her.
After a while, Nie Rongzhen waved to the guards and signaled to come, "Appoint a doctor to treat this child's foot injury. Find a lesbian who is in the breastfeeding stage and ask her to feed the child."
The baby woke up when Nie Rongzhen took it and couldn't babble. She just bit the finger in her mouth. Soon, the baby was taken away by the doctor, and Nie Rongzhen focused on the remaining five or six-year-old girl.
Her eyes were full of anxiety. As soon as he turned to the doll in the cradle, the baby was taken away, and she looked over again.
Nie Rongzhen lowered her body and asked, "What's your name? "The child does not understand Chinese, but he just said in fear, "Xingzi, Xingzi." "

Nie Rongzhen knew that this child must have been frightened. Nie Rongzhen did not ask too much, but asked someone to find the local specialty snowflake pear , and then handed it to her. The child was still on guard at the beginning. Nie Rongzhen saw that she didn't eat it, and he thought to himself, and after a while , he finally reacted: "Oh, Japanese children love to be clean", so he washed the pear with water himself, and then handed it to the child. The child indeed took a small bite and started eating. This little girl is Mihoko.
During the period of time in the command post, Mihoko slowly let go of her guard and stayed with Nie Rongzhen almost every day. She followed Nie Rongzhen wherever Nie Rongzhen went. One afternoon, Mihoko followed Nie Rongzhen When I came to the playground east of the command post, the mountains were undulating. When I looked closer, I saw a young soldier holding a plate in his hand and feeding the little girl. The older soldier sitting next to me was holding half-eating pears in his hand. He was bent down and looking at the child lovingly. This scene was finally frozen by the battlefield reporters. The scene of this rare "general and orphan" on the battlefield between China and abroad was left behind.
In today's primary school Chinese textbooks, You can also see a text titled " General Nie and Japanese Girl ". The protagonists are General Nie Rongzhen and Mihoko.

war was still going on, and the command post was unable to adopt this pair of Japanese orphans for a long time. Finally, in order to truly reflect the Eighth Route Army In the spirit of international humanitarianism, Nie Rongzhen decided to send the Mihoko sisters to the Japanese military camp in Shijiazhuang to let them return to their motherland.
On August 22, 1940, Nie Rongzhen wrote a letter in person and sent it to the Japanese garrison in Shijiazhuang. In just 800 words, it listed Japanese atrocities and called on Japanese officers to oppose this war of aggression with the Chinese people. What is strange is that the letter was not banned. Why Why not ban it? Nie Rongzhen answered in his memoir:
This letter was not banned, so that every Japanese who took over this letter had a chance to see it. Our war of resistance against Japan is not just a matter of war. If you fight with us with a gun, then we will never be polite; however, once you are disarmed, we will firmly implement the policy of "leniency to prisoners".
In the letter, he wrote : "The Eighth Route Army, the most benevolent and righteous, there is a beginning and an end."
The content of the handwritten letter was also circulated afterwards:
Picture | General Nie Rongzhen's letter to Japanese officers and soldiers
More than this lonely young girl, one is only five or six years old, the other is still in her infancy, hesitating and helpless, and his love is pitying After I was taken into custody and raised, I sent him back to me... The spirit of the Eighth Route Army's internationalism is extremely benevolent and righteous, with beginning and end. We must fight for the survival of the Chinese nation and the permanent peace of mankind to the end...
Before leaving, Nie Rongzhen was worried that the children would cry due to hunger on the way, and specially prepared candies and snacks for them, and specially wished the fellow villagers who escorted their: they should be balanced with the baskets, and must pay attention to safety.
After the Mihoko sisters arrived in Shijiazhuang, their sister was admitted to the hospital due to illness and died soon afterwards, while Mihoko was sent back to Japan.
Mihoko's legendary experience caused shock in the Japanese army, so that at the end of the war, a large number of Japanese prisoners were thrown into the anti-war battle.
However, before this, the war reporter who filmed "General and Orphans" saw an unacceptable scene. Before the battle of Panjiayu, his troops were boiling a pot of boiling water and preparing to cook, but suddenly heard the news that the Japanese army entered the village. At this time, they were short of troops and had to retreat outside the village. However, after the Japanese army left and returned to the village, they saw a tragic scene: two Chinese children were boiled in the pot of boiling water by the Japanese army, while their young mother was naked and was picked to death at the door.

For a long time, Nie Rongzhen was thinking about these two Japanese orphans who survived death in the war. In early summer 1980, when Nie Rongzhen was interviewed by reporter Yao Yuanfang , he specially took out the photo of Mihoko selling his breeches walking in the playground of the command post, and couldn't help but sigh: "War is cruel, the children are innocent. I wonder what these two children are like, where are they now?" After
, the People's Liberation Army Daily published "Japanese Girl, where are you?" 》, through the tracking report of Japan's " Yomiuri Shimbun ", it was only when Mihoko, who lived in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan was found. At this time, the girl was already a mother of three children.
At the same time, the Yomiuri Shimbun also transferred a letter from Mihoko to Nie Rongzhen who hoped to visit China. In fact, for so many years, she has always wanted to thank her uncle back then.
After you got this news, you were very happy seriously. You quickly called your daughter Nie Li and asked her to arrange a meeting with Mihoko.

July 10, Mihoko and his family came to Beijing. On July 14, in the Xinjiang Hall of the Great Hall of the People, a woman in her 40s actually held Marshal Nie Rongzhen's hand tightly with tears in her eyes and shouted towards her: "Dad." For Mihoko, Nie Rongzhen is her relative, and she appeared this time to "visit relatives". If Nie Rongzhen had let her die by herself, it would be blameless. After all, under the background of the times at that time, they should be hostile. However, Nie Rongzhen accepted her with his broad mind and took care of her carefully. In the end, she even returned to her hometown. When she dreamed at midnight, the scene of her holding Nie's father's breeches would appear in her mind.
For this meeting, Nie Li still clearly remembers the scene of the reunion: "I picked her up at the airport. When I saw my father, Mihoko's tears came down. She put her forehead on the back of the old man's hand. The action was natural. She was expressing her deep gratitude." After
After she went to Japan, the mayor of Osaka met her: He told Mihoko's story, saying it was incredible. The war between the two countries was fighting like this, you still have such a humanitarian spirit, and they will never forget this. Those old Japanese soldiers apologized for the crimes of the war against China and praised the revolutionary humanitarian spirit of the Eighth Route Army.

Mihoko appeared this time and specially brought a gift to Nie Rongzhen. It is a Japanese girl in a kimono. In Japan, it is said that this is the highest gift given to distinguished guests by Japanese people. Seeing this scene, her 15-year-old daughter Rumiko, who had been standing next to Mihoko, suddenly ran to Nie Rongzhen "thump" and gave him the little white rabbit toy in her hand. Nie Rongzhen was puzzled at first, and then laughed out loud.
This should also be an alternative inheritance. Nie Rongzhen saved Mihoko, and Rumiko also felt kindness from Nie Marshal.
Before Mihoko left, Nie Rongzhen gave her famous Chinese painter Cheng Shifa "Picture of Three Friends in the Year" specially painted for him. The scroll alone is 2 meters high. Mihoko cherishes this painting very much. After returning to China, she hung it in the living room. However, Japanese houses are generally relatively low, and this painting is not equivalent to hanging in the living room. For this reason, Mihoko specially demolished the house and rebuilt it and raised it.After
, Mihoko recalled, she also said: "When she met Mai Nie this time, she felt that he was like her kind father, and Nie Li was like her own sister. When she met Mai Nie, she could not control her feelings and couldn't help but burst into tears."
Mihoko didn't know that when she met Mai Nie again, she was already separated by heaven and man. On May 14, 1992, Nie Rongzhen passed away. After learning the news, Mihoko sent a message of condolence: " I have always regarded General Nie as the support of my soul. I suddenly received the bad news of my kind father's death. Because I was far apart, I couldn't go to pay tribute. I feel deeply regretful!"
Picture|Mihoko left is Mihoko, and the second right is Nie Li
, Mihoko also gave it to me specifically. Nie Li called , "I really want to come to China to pay tribute to Marshal Nie to fulfill his daughter's filial piety, but because of her husband's sudden cerebral thrombosis and lying in bed, it is really difficult to get out of it. Please forgive me."
Nie Li expressed his understanding, and Mihoko did not disappoint Marshal Nie's life-saving grace. For a long time, Mihoko has been a special messenger of China-Japan friendship. She has come to China many times, committed to enhancing the friendly feelings between the people of the two countries.
Military Nie stretched out his hand in the battlefield, changing Mihoko's fate.
