Dorgon made great contributions
Hou Jin In September of the eighth year of Tiancong, Dorgon was conquering the remnants of Chahar tribe in Mongolia and Lin Danhan . Without spending one army and one soldier, the remaining troops of Lin Danhan surrendered without fighting.
This achievement is quite small, but it is not too big, because compared with another contribution made by Dorgon, only military achievements are worth mentioning.
That great contribution was: Dorgon obtained the " National Jade Seal " missing for more than 200 years from Lin Dankhan's troops. The "National Jade Seal" is made of the famous Heshi Bi in the Spring and Autumn Period.
When the Qin Dynasty , Xianyang Jade Worker King Sun Shou was ordered by Qin Shihuang to grind the Heshi Bi fine and carve it into a jade seal with four inches in square radius and five dragons on the New Year; Li Si seal script "Accepted by heaven, and lived forever" was used as a token of "the divine authority of the imperial power, orthodox and legality"; subsequent emperors regarded this seal as a token of the emperor and regarded it as a treasure for the country. Getting it symbolized that the emperor "accepted by heaven", and losing it means "the energy has been exhausted."
Anyone who ascends the throne but does not have this seal will be ridiculed as the "whiteboard emperor", which seems to be lacking in confidence and is despised by the world.
The imperial seal has been haunted several times in Chinese history. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Emperor Shun of Yuan took the imperial seal to the desert. Zhu Yuanzhang sent the general Xu Da to the north of the desert, chasing and fighting the remnant Yuan forces that fleeing far away. The main purpose was to obtain the imperial seal, but in the end he returned in vain. The imperial seal was no longer found.
Now, the "National Jade Seal" was obtained by Dorgon from the Mongol and presented it to Huang Taiji . This achievement can be called "unparalleled". Huang Taiji would never have thought of this surprise before he made up his mind to conquer Mongolia.
Is the imperial seal in Huang Taiji's hand true or false?
At the end of the Tang Dynasty , the world was in chaos and heroes rose up. In the fourth year of Tianyou (907), Zhu Quanzhong abolished Emperor Ai of Tang, seized the imperial seal, and established Houliang . Sixteen years later, Li Cunxu destroyed the Houliang, established Houtang , and passed the imperial seal to the Houtang. After another 13 years, Shi Jingtang led the Khitan army to Luoyang . The last emperor Li Congke carried the imperial jade seal and climbed to Xuanwu Tower to burn himself. The whereabouts of the imperial jade seal were unknown.
Houzhou Taizu Guo Wei Emperor of emperor, he searched for the imperial seal everywhere, but he could not get what he wanted. In desperation, he had to engrave seals such as "Emperor's Divine Treasure" and passed on to Northern Song .
During the Northern Song Dynasty, a farmer named Duan Yi dug out the imperial seal while plowing the fields and sent it to the court. Based on the records of the previous dynasty, 13 great masters determined that this was the imperial seal made by , the First Emperor, . However, many knowledgeable people in the government and the public suspected that this seal was actually fake.
in the late Northern Song Dynasty, Huizong likes elegance and carved seals 10 square meters. At that time, some people ridiculed him for being extravagant. In fact, the real purpose of Huizong was to downplay the status of the imperial seal. If the imperial seal in the future was really identified as a fake, he would be able to lie.
Song In the first year of Jingkang (1126), the Jin soldiers captured the Song capital Bianliang (now Kaifeng, Henan). The two emperors Hui and Qin were captured. The jade seal of the kingdom was plundered by the Great Jin Kingdom, and then disappeared.
yuan to 10 yuan thirty-one (1294), Shizu Kublai died. The imperial seal suddenly appeared in the market of yuan Dadu (now Beijing) and was publicly sold. After learning about Quan Xiang Boyan , he ordered someone to buy it for a large amount of money. The imperial seal fell into the hands of the royal family of the Yuan Dynasty. In the late Yuan Dynasty, Emperor Shun of Yuan Dynasty, under the relentless pursuit of the Ming army, Emperor Shun of Yuan fled to the desert with his jade seal, missing. Finally, the jade seal was obtained by Dorgon and presented it to Huang Taiji.
However, it is difficult to judge whether the authenticity of this jade seal is true or false. It can be clearly confirmed that the last time when the jade seal of the Kingdom appeared was when the last emperor of the Later Tang Dynasty, Li Congke, who had his own seal in his arms, burned himself to death. It is difficult to distinguish the authenticity of the jade seals that appear later. Therefore, we cannot be sure that the imperial seal in Huang Taiji's hand is the authentic one.
Emperor Qianlong personally identified the jade seal
To the early Qing Dynasty, Forbidden City had 39 jade seals, one of which was the imperial seal obtained by Huang Taiji. Emperor Qianlong loved archaeology very much and also studied it. After studying this imperial seal for a long time, he appointed it as a fake. Put it in a bunch of imperial seal as fake and as real, and make up for the numbers.
Since the emperor personally said that it was a fake, others could no longer comment on this seal. How true can the artful Emperor Qianlong’s test be? Therefore, whether it is true or false is still a question.
Where will the jade seal end up
Even if this imperial seal is a forged by later generations, it has also had its important historical significance. However, this jade seal hidden in the Qing Palace was eventually gone.
In November 1924, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty, Puyi , was expelled from the palace by Feng Yu
xiang, and the authenticity of this country's jade seal, which has not yet been determined, was nowhere to be seen. At that time, Lu Zhonglin, the generals of Feng Yuxiang, and others of , had pursued Puyi for the jade seal, but Puyi spread his hands and Lu Zhonglin got nothing. Although the whereabouts of the imperial seal are still being searched and studied, no relevant clues have been found.
