Metasequoia King is a metasequoia mother tree with a tree age of more than 600 years. It grows next to Moudao Town, Elichuan City, and is adjacent to Sumadang Avenue (Metasequoia Museum). It is known by the Republic as the "living fossil of Metasequoia" and "the No. 1 cereal in the world". The locals call it the "Metasequoia King", which is also the "sacred tree" in the hearts of the Sumadang people.
According to legend, in the late Qing Dynasty, [Metasequoia grows in the land of Metasequoia under the jurisdiction of Wanxian County, Sichuan (now Wanzhou), and it was only in 1955 that it was included in the jurisdiction of Lichuan County (now Lichuan City ). 】One day in August of a certain year at 4 or 5 pm, there was a strange tree shape on the water of the Yangtze River in Wanxian County, with huge stems reflected on the river. After some work, the red cloth hung on a branch under the treetops. At this time, he rode his horse and ate dry food and rushed back. He returned to Wanxian around 3 pm and gave a comprehensive explanation to them of the position where the red cloth was hung.
So the three of them immediately rushed to the "observation point", and there were more people here than the previous two days, and they squeezed into the crowd and found the best observation position. I hope the shadow of the tree appears, and I hope it! The shadow of the tree finally appeared, its shape was the same as that of the Metasequoia, and there was really a long red cloth floating on it. The horse rider said, "It's this tree!" The three of them said at the same time, "This is the Metasequoia tree that appears here!" When the people present heard this, they were even more excited and cheered.
This magical incident spread in Wanxian and Moudaosumadang. It is a coincidence that since the shadow of the tree with red cloth appeared, there has never been a shadow of Metasequoia again. Some people say that you will wait next year!
