I remember that in October 2004, the Xi'an Civil Affairs Bureau zoning and place name survey department launched the initiative of "Solicing Xi'an Alias and Abbreviations" in the media. It has been 18 years since then.
A large number of friends in Xi'an all have a big doubt: Why does Xi'an, which has a history of thousands of years of city construction, have no clear alias and abbreviations today? Why are there still no consensus after seventeen years?
Anyone who knows that solicitation activity should know my position, that is, "renamed Chang'an , alias Xijing, and abbreviated as Qin". Seventeen years later, my views remain the same!

But is this the result we want? Can't Xi'an really be renamed Chang'an? It was wrong to rename Huizhou in Huangshan, and it was wrong to rename Huaiyin City as a prefecture-level Huai'an City . It was also wrong to transform the ancient capital Chang'an into the ancient city of Xi'an! This makes me admire the courage and courage of Xiangfan again!
On the other hand, we have been shouting " Xixian Integration " for twenty years. Has "Great Chang'an" been realized? I have emphasized many times: Instead of alias Chang'an, it is better to change the name to Chang'an directly. This is the best choice for Xi'an's development! Regarding the reasons for renaming Chang'an, I don't think I need to say anything more. To achieve the renaming Chang'an, we must merge some administrative districts and counties in Xianyang and Weinan to realize the "Great Chang'an" strategy!

In fact, the "Ancient Chang'an" in history has abbreviated name, which is the "Beijing" sign of the capitals of the thirteen dynasties such as Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang dynasties. After Chang'an lost its capital function, the "Beijing" sign passed away. From then on, the people on this land lost their direction in the lost "waste capital"!
What exactly should be the abbreviation of Xi'an?
It must be stated that the abbreviation of each city represents the cultural heritage of this city, is a symbol of the spirit and soul of this city, and is also the crystallization of layered historical deposition! And which of the sayings among the many theories such as Feng, Hao, Yong, Tang, Ba, Feng, Feng and Qin can be used as the abbreviation of Xi'an?

What I want to emphasize here is that "Great Chang'an" has two cultural pillars: one is "Xijing Culture", or "Ancient Capital Culture" and "Ancient Chang'an Culture"; the other is "Qin Culture", which are collectively called "Chang'an Culture". The alias and abbreviation of "Great Chang'an" as a cultural imprint must "promote Chang'an culture and establish Chang'an brand" to demonstrate the infinite charm of "Chang'an culture".

Please do not start a new foundation and innovate, nor do you look for residues in the ruins of history. In fact, it is right around us, such as Chang'an, Xijing and Qin.
