In 190 AD, the eleven princes, led by Yuan Shao , sent troops to attack Dong Zhuo. However, the powerful princes all have their own "little nine" and wait and see each other and guard against each other. No one wants to consume their strength to fight against Dong Zhuo . They are just as the Shangshu Zheng Tai expected, "unwilling to work together and unwilling to advance and retreat together", and internal consumption is serious.
On the contrary, the strength is weak, and even one prince cannot be considered as a jail1 Cao Cao and Sun Jian have given up their concerns and charge forward regardless of the cost.
Cao Cao led 5,000 people to march, but failed miserably and returned to
At the beginning, Dong Zhuo appointed Cao Cao as the captain of the 小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小小Cao Cao disdained to join him, so he changed his name and fled back to Chenliu's hometown from Xiaolu, and spent all his family money, started from scratch, and formed an army of 5,000 people. Although there were few people and weak power, when he saw Yuan Shao and other princes unite to oppose Dong Zhuo, he seemed to see hope and participated in this vigorous feat without hesitation.
When Dong Zhuo saw that Yuan Shao and others were so powerful, he forced the emperor to move the capital to Chang'an , but he still stayed at Luoyang . Yuan Shao and others believed that Dong Zhuo had strong troops and no one dared to take the lead in attacking. But Cao Cao, who was determined to rebel against Dong, was anxious and said, "In order to eliminate Dong Zhuo, so many people mobilized so many people to gather together. What else should I be afraid of? If he did not move the capital and continued to station in Luoyang in the name of the emperor, then it would still be legitimate. We may have some concerns if we attack him. But now he has burned down the palace in Luoyang and forced the emperor to move westward to Chang'an, and the people are not aware of what to do. This is the favorable opportunity to attack him. We can take the opportunity to eliminate it in one fell swoop, and the opportunity should not be missed."
But Cao Cao was a little bit light, and the princes with high and powerful positions were unwilling to take risks, and no one followed his opinions. So, Cao Cao had to lead his army to march westward and wanted to occupy Chenggao. Zhang Miao had a good relationship with him. Seeing that there were few people, he sent general Wei Zi to lead some troops to fight with him. But in Xingyang , he was defeated by Dong Zhuo's general Xu Rong , and many soldiers were killed and injured. Cao Cao and his war horse were also shot and were immediately in danger. His cousin Cao Hong had to give up the war horse to Cao Cao, but Cao Cao refused. Cao Hong said, "There can be no Cao Hong in the world, but you cannot be without you." So Cao Cao got on the horse with tears and Cao Hong followed him on foot. Fortunately, their brothers escaped while the night was in trouble.
As a soldier, it is not a pity to die on the battlefield even if he is wrapped in a horse and is in a corpse. But what made him sad was that while he led one of the few troops to fight to the death on the front line, more than 100,000 troops from all walks of life in the Sour Zao Base Camp were drinking and gathering every day, not enterprising. After Cao Cao returned to Soybean, he accused them of forgetting the original intention of the uprising and putting forward specific military deployment opinions on how to attack Dong Zhuo, but the princes were still unmoved.
Cao Cao was extremely disappointed. He wanted to rely on the strength of the princes to do a big fight, but people were uneven and it was difficult to achieve their wishes. He knew that he had few soldiers and few generals, and he could not succeed with his passion alone. Only by having strong strength can you speak with weight and confidence in doing things. So he and Xiahou Dun came to Yangzhou to recruit new recruits, but only obtained more than 1,000 people.
Soon after, the troops stationed in the sour jujube fled everywhere because they had eaten up all the food.
Sun Jian killed Huaxiong , defeated Lu Bu , chased Dong Zhuo, entered Luoyang
Changsha prefect Sun Jian and Yuan Shu joined forces to accept Yuan Shu's leadership. After Sun Jian was defeated by Dong Zhuo's general Xu Rong, he collected the remaining troops and entered Yang. Dong Zhuo sent Dongjun prefect Hu Zhen to attack Sun Jian, but Hu Zhen was defeated by Sun Jian, and his subordinate Hua Xiong was also killed by Sun Jian. At this time, someone became jealous and said to Yuan Shu: "If Sun Jian captured Luoyang, you would not be able to control him. This is a wolf and a tiger." Yuan Shu was bewitched by him and became suspicious, so he no longer provided food and grass to Sun Jian. This annoyed Sun Jian. He was ordered to attack Dong Zhuo, but he cut off his food and supplies. It was too unkind.Sun Jian had no choice but to rush back to see Yuan Shu overnight and said righteously: "I will attack Dong Zhuo without hesitation, and I will fight against the thieves of the country and avenge your family. How can you listen to slander and doubt me?" Yuan Shu was very embarrassed when asked and was speechless, so he had to send food immediately.
Sun Jian returned to his residence. In order to win him over, Dong Zhuo wanted to become a relative of his children and asked him to list the children who were suitable for serving as governors and prefects, and promised that he would recommend them. This temptation is quite great and most people may not refuse it, but Sun was determined and unmoved and continued to march. Only ninety miles away from Luoyang, Dong Zhuo had to take action himself, but was defeated by Sun Jian and had to retreat to Mianchi.
After Sun Jian entered Luoyang, he immediately attacked Lu Bu, and Lu Bu was defeated and fled. So, after Sun Jian was cleaning the Emperor's Temple and finding the imperial seal, he sent troops to Dong Zhuo, who was in Mianchi. Dong Zhuo was forced to leave Luoyang and come to Chang'an.
Sun Jian was sent by Yuan Shu and fought with Dong Zhuo desperately on the front line. During this period, the chiefs of the Kanto states and counties were only concerned about annexing each other and expanding their sphere of influence. Yuan Shao also sent Zhou Ang to occupy Sun Jian’s base Yangcheng, which was heartbreaking.
If the princes continue to suspicion, guard against each other, and destroy each other in this way, they will have no combat effectiveness! How can you destroy Dong Zhuo!
But fortunately, Dong Zhuo was killed by Wang Yun and Lu Bu, so there was no need for the princes to take action.
Cao Cao and Sun Jian are not stupid. Why do they still have to strive for the first place even though they know that they are weak? Because they want to take this opportunity to become famous, gain recognition, and establish their position in the court in one fell swoop. In fact, they did do it. After this battle, their prestige increased greatly, laying the foundation for the development of their grand cause.
