Chairman Mao's daughter Yang Yuehua, whose identity is little known, has never met her biological parents.

(1) ill-fated

Chairman Mao devoted most of his life to the revolutionary construction work, and his family and sons and daughters also made important sacrifices and contributions to China's revolutionary cause. Chairman Mao had a total of ten sons and daughters in his life, among whom we are mainly familiar with Mao Anying, Mao Anqing, Li Min, Li Ne and so on.

One of them has a daughter who has lived in the folk for decades, her true identity is unknown, and she was only confirmed 44 years after her birth, and she is still alive today. She is Chairman Mao's eldest daughter "Yang Yuehua".

In 1929, the Red Army liberated Longyan, Fujian for the second time, where He Zizhen gave birth to Mao Zedong's eldest daughter, named Mao Jinhua . Soon, the Kuomintang launched the "Three Provincial Capital Suppression", and the Red Army was forced to withdraw from Longyan. In the ruthless revolutionary struggle situation, it is extremely inconvenient and dangerous to bring a family with you. Mao Zedong and He Zizhen were helpless, had no choice but to entrust Deng Zihui to foster the golden flower, which was not full moon, in the house of Weng Qinghe, a local shoemaker.

Mao Zedong and He Zizhen

In April 1932, the Red Army fought back to Longyan again, and He Zizhen entrusted Mao Zemin to go to Weng Qinghe to retrieve his daughter Mao Jinhua. But Weng Qinghe said that Mao Jinhua had already died. In fact, Mao Jinhua is still alive in the world.

It turned out that Weng Qinghe was timid and fearful that the Kuomintang would persecute him in the future when he knew the truth, so he secretly gave the child to Weng Gu in the south of the city to raise him. Later, Weng Gu was unable to raise the child, so she transferred her to a person named Zhang Xianzhi. Three years later, Zhang Xianzhi's wife died, and 5-year-old Mao Jinhua was transferred to Qiu Yingsong, who opened a coal kiln. Mao Jinhua also changed her name to Qiu Yuehua. After Qiu Yingsong passed away, Qiu's wife Qiu Lanzai remarried to a man surnamed Yang, and the child's surname was changed to "Yang Yuehua".

He Zizhen

Mao Zemin went to Weng Qinghe and came back and told He Zizhen that the golden flower had died prematurely. He Zizhen did not want to believe it, she felt that the golden flower was definitely not dead.

In 1949, 20-year-old Yang Yuehua married Zheng Huanzhang of the Longyan Grain Bureau and still lived with his adoptive mother Qiu Lanzai.

(2) The truth is hard to find

In 1951, Xie Juezai led a central delegation to West Fujian to express condolences to the people in the old area, and at the same time investigated the whereabouts of Mao Zedong's eldest daughter, Mao Jinhua. Weng Qinghe still insists that the child has long since died.

Yang Yuehua

In 1953, Deng Zihui returned to his hometown in Longyan, Fujian to visit relatives, and Mao Zedong entrusted him to help investigate the whereabouts of Mao Jinhua. Deng Zihui found Weng Qinghe, but Weng Qinghe still insisted that Mao Jinhua was dead.

If Weng Qinghe lied and said that Mao Jinhua died in the 1930s because he was afraid of persecution by the Kuomintang, he still insisted on his previous lies after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and why? Some people analyzed that it was not long after the founding of the country, Weng Qinghe was afraid that the Kuomintang government, who was living in Taiwan, would come back. Also, if he lied before and suddenly changed his rhetoric later, he might be blamed, and people would think that what he was entrusted to was inhuman.

After many twists and turns like this, the final news was that Mao Jinhua was dead. Mao Zedong and He Zizhen had to accept this reality and believed that their daughter Mao Jinhua was no longer in this world.

Until 1964, a letter from the masses signed "Yang Yuehua" attracted the attention of Wei Jinshui, governor of Fujian Province. In the letter, Yang Yuehua claimed that she was a child of the Red Army and was fostered at Weng Qinghe's house, and asked Wu Chaofang, deputy commissioner of Longyan Administration, to help investigate her life experience.

On January 17, 1964, Governor Wei Jinshui hosted a symposium in Longyan County, where Yang Yuehua and her adoptive mother Qiu Lanzai, her aunt Zheng Qiudi and Weng Qinghe were called to investigate Yang Yuehua's life experience. At the meeting, Qiu Lanzai admitted that Yang Yuehua was not his own, but a child of the Red Army brought by Qiu Yingsong.

Weng Qinghe said that when the Red Army left Longyan, he took in Mao Jinhua through Deng Zihui. Soon after the Kuomintang army came to sweep, he was afraid and gave Mao Jinhua to Weng Gu to raise her. Later, Yang Fengnian, the head of the Kuomintang brigade, arrested him and interrogated Mao Zedong's children. He was afraid of affecting Weng Gu, so he lied that the child was dead. Soon Weng Gu gave the child to Qiu Yingsong. When the government sent people to investigate the whereabouts of the child after liberation, he was afraid of trouble and said that the child was dead.

Then Weng Qinghe pointed at Yang Yuehua and told Governor Wei: "Yang Yuehua is Mao Jinhua, the daughter of Chairman Mao and He Zizhen."

The next day, Weng Qinghe suddenly changed his mind, saying that he made a mistake yesterday, Chairman Mao's daughter Mao Jinhua died of illness on the tenth day of June of the second year. This sudden change has put the investigation into a corner once again. Weng Qinghe, a key witness, suddenly changed his tune, making the truth of the matter confusing again.

(3) Identity Confirmation

In 1971, He Minxue (He Zizhen's brother) old subordinateLuo Wanchang retired and returned to his hometown of Longyan to live. Hearing some rumors about Yang Yuehua, he immediately contacted the old chief He Minxue. After hearing the news, He Minxue entrusted Luo Wanchang and Longyan veteran Zhang Huanan to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter and strive to implement it.

After a long and thorough investigation, in early 1973, a detailed investigation report was sent to He Minxue, who immediately submitted the report to Premier Zhou Enlai. Premier Zhou attached great importance to this matter and ordered He Yi (He Zizhen's sister) daughter-in-law Zhou Jianxia to investigate and implement the matter.

Zhou Jianxia first went to Shanghai to find her aunt He Zizhen to learn about Mao Jinhua's situation. He Zizhen told Zhou Jianxia that Mao Jinhua had two moles on her right knee. Knowing Zhou Jianxia went to Longyan and asked Luo Wanchang to arrange a meeting with Yang Yuehua, along with Luo Wanchang's daughter Luo Haiming.

After seeing Yang Yuehua and having a simple conversation, how to verify whether there is a mole on her knee became a difficult problem. I was wearing long trousers at the time, so I couldn't pull up other people's trouser legs for no reason. Luo Haiming shouted anxiously, "No, there are fleas and !" Zhou Jianxia understood and quickly rolled up her trousers to grab it. Seeing this, Yang Yuehua also rolled up her trousers to look for the fleas. At this time, Zhou Jianxia and Luo Haiming both noticed that there were indeed two moles on Yang Yuehua's right knee. At this point, Yang Yuehua's identity can finally be determined, she is Mao Jinhua. Subsequently, Zhou Jianxia returned to Beijing to report the investigation results to Premier Zhou.

Yang Yuehua

(4) Failed to recognize her relatives

One day, the leader of Yang Yuehua's unit told her that the organization arranged for her to go to Shanghai to check her health. In fact, this was a "mother-daughter meeting" arranged by He Minxue (Yang Yuehua's uncle) to meet her biological mother He Zizhen. However, due to various reasons, the meeting did not materialize.

At the end of May 1974, Yang Yuehua came to Beijing with her family and adoptive mother, hoping to meet her father Mao Zedong, but for some reason she was unable to do so. In 1976, Yang Yuehua's biological father, Mao Zedong, died.

In 1977, He Zizhen moved to Fuzhou to recuperate. She had planned to go to Longyan to see her daughter Mao Jinhua (that is, Yang Yuehua), but for some reason she could not make the trip. On April 19, 1984, He Zizhen died of illness in Shanghai. The mother and daughter's wish to see each other was ultimately unsuccessful. Yang Yuehua has never seen her biological parents in her life, which is really deplorable. (I was given away before I was born, so I have no memory at that time)

Now Yang Yuehua is 93 years old and has 6 children, all of whom work in and in Longyan City, and they are all working class.

Yang Yuehua joined the Party in 1958. She served successively as the women's director of the neighborhood committee, a member of the public security committee, the secretary of the Youth League branch, the director of the neighborhood committee, and the director of a department store. Later, she worked in a film company. He was injured in fire fighting in the 1960s. After her identity as Chairman Mao's eldest daughter was confirmed, Comrade Xiao Ke once told her to change her surname, and the former provincial party committee leader also persuaded her to change her surname. But she said, "I'm so old, what do I do with it?"
