Among the twelve headquarters of the SS National Command Headquarters, the SS Judicial Headquarters is a very important department. The person who can serve as the leader of this department must also be a big man in the SS. Unfortunately, this big man will end up He was killed by a single shot by himself as an adjutant. He was the deputy commander-in-chief of the National SS Brighthaupt.
Brighthaupt, pay attention to the arrow symbol on his left arm. I have introduced this symbol before, remember?
Franz Breithaupt is a former Prussian officer with a strong sense of nationalism. He participated in the First World War and was brave in combat. He was wounded many times. He was awarded the Iron Cross and the Bavarian Medal of Honor. He was retired with the rank of major in 1919, and then joined the Freedom Corps to continue fighting and killing. It was not until 1921 that he stopped and returned to society.
In the following years, Breithaupt abandoned his military power and started a business in a modest manner, and has been engaged in sales and business work. However, in his bones, he is not a person who lives his own life, especially angry with the status quo in Germany after the defeat of the war, so he will be eager to try whenever he has the opportunity. In the late 1920s, he joined the militarized nationalist organization Steel Helmets. In 1931, he joined the Nazi stormtroopers, but the stormtroopers lacking spiritual pursuits only provoked trouble, so that the self-proclaimed elite Breithaupt was uncomfortable, so he switched to Himmler's SS the following year. Lai welcomed him to join this fashionable niche SS, and directly gave him the rank of second-level assault captain (major) and let him serve as his adjutant. Breithaupt joined the SS not early, but he started from a very high point. He has become Himmler's celebrity since the day he joined, so it is not surprising that he will be prosperous in the future.
In 1933, when the Nazis came to power, Breithaupt was also promoted to the first assault group captain. Three months later he was promoted to the flag captain. In 1934 he was promoted to the district captain for more than two years. From major to brigadier general level, it can be described as a straight rise. In 1936, he was sent to the SS National Command Headquarters, and after the outbreak of World War II he served as the chief of police in Breslau.
In August 1942, the former head of the SS Judicial Headquarters Paul Schalfe died. Himmler appointed Breithaupt to succeed Schalfe and promoted him to the SS regional captain (in Chinese). Will), Breithaupt worked in this position until he died.
The SS Judicial Headquarters is not a simple military court. It has a wide range of functions. It is responsible for formulating laws and regulations within the SS and supervising all members of the SS and the supervision of the police system. Circumstances such as execution of orders, trial of SS members who violated disciplines, and detention of SS members who violated laws and regulations. Its rights override civil law, criminal law and even the constitution. The daily activities and special tasks of the SS are basically violations of the law, but only the SS Judicial Headquarters can judge whether these actions are "legal" or "illegal." For example, criminal activities such as protective detention, special operations teams, and concentration camp genocide are all “legal” actions recognized by the Judicial Headquarters. This means that the actions of all SS members do not need to abide by the laws of the country. The judicial headquarters can be responsible.
On April 20, 1944, Breithaupt was promoted to the deputy commander-in-chief of the National SS (admiral), reaching the peak of his life. On April 29, 1945, a few days before Germany's defeat, Breithaupt was shot and killed by his adjutant Carl Lange in his holiday villa at the age of 64. As for what caused Lieutenant Lange to shoot his boss in a rage, I have not found any information in this regard. If you have any friends, please add.
