Few people think that he also likes photography. In fact, some of He Long's cameras were captured by the enemy, and some were brought by him and others, but these were not used by himself. As long as he met someone who needed a camera, he would not hesitate to donate the camera to others, so that Cameras can do more.
In May 1938, Xinhua News Agency reporter Lu Yi went to the 120th division for an interview. He Long asked Lu Yi for a camera, but he handed the camera to Cai Guoming, who also liked photography. With this camera, Cai Guoming became the first photographer of the 120th Division. He used the camera to take many photos reflecting the desperate struggle between the Eighth Route Army and the Japanese Army, providing valuable historical objects for future generations to remember the revolutionary martyrs and study the history of the revolution.
Cai Guoming used this camera to win the heart of his wife Bao Kan.
Bao Kan, who works as an educator in Yan'an, went to a commendation conference. At the banquet after the conference, when He Long learned that Bao Kan had no match, he immediately introduced her to his military reporter Cai Guoming.Cai Guoming used his rest time to often visit Comrade Bao Kan in the nursery with his camera on his back. Although the living conditions in Yan'an were very difficult at that time, the love of beauty was inherent in every lesbian. In order to win the favor of Comrade Bao Kan, Cai Guoming asked Bao Kan to pose in various poses to take pictures. However, after this photo was taken, there would never be a text, and it would never be washed out. Whenever Bao Kan asked about the photos, Cai Guoming said that the photos were washed and damaged. Later, Comrade Bao Kan discovered Cai Guoming's "ghost trick" and was no longer fooled by him. But she understood Cai Guoming, in those days, film was such a precious material, how could it be wasted like this?
Later, this camera was preserved by Zhou Congchu of the Yan'an Film Troupe. In 1983, Zhou Congchu donated this camera to the Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall, which is now on display as a first-class cultural relic.
