For a long time, the Chaoshan people have not forgotten the heroic demeanor Huang Guangyan played in the Chaoshan anti-Japanese war and praised him! Remember him! The following is the story of the Chaoshan people describing the heroic battles of Regiment Huang

1. Regiment Huang went to battle against the enemy
In the summer of 1939, the invading army invaded and occupied Chaozhou and Shantou. They were divided into Chaozhou-Shantou railway and dike highway Yunluxu, Anbu and other strongholds along the line. At that time, the frontline troops of our Fourth Theater Command deployed troops in the mountains north of Penny's Mountain, Fengxi Town, Wuyang, and Sangpu Mountain, and formed a confrontational situation with the enemy.

The head of Huang Guangyan of the 2nd Regiment of Guangdong Security Guard led his troops to deploy Chaozhou City and Yunluwei enemy lines. The headquarters of the Bao 2 Regiment was located in Fengtang, and the 2nd Battalion defended the left-wing position of Fengxi; the right-wing position was in the village between Wuyang and Fengxi, and the 3rd Battalion used a company to guard Wuyang and its forward Wushi Mountain; the 1st Battalion was The reserve team is stationed at Fengyang.
In September 1939, the Japanese invading army entrenched in Chaozhou, with its superior weapons, focused on attacking Fengxi Town, the left-wing position of Bao 2 Regiment. Early in the morning, the sound of enemy artillery broke the silent front, and the enemy's situation was discovered on the left and right wing positions of the 2nd regiment. After observation and judgment, the enemy's main attack direction was Fengxi Town, my left-wing position, and the few enemies that were active in front of my right-wing position were feigning.
The artillery shells fired by the enemy artillery on Chaozhou Jinshan all fell on the front of the Fengxi position. An enemy plane flew over Fengxi and shot a few bombs. Then the enemy also drove 3 tanks to cover the infantry. The left wing swooped. Our troops at the front position of Fengxi rose up to fight, using the village houses, passing through the rooms, maneuvering and flexibly changing the shooting position, attacking the enemy, and holding the position. The enemy continued to bombard with small steel artillery, destroying my bunkers, and sending out tanks to destroy part of the courtyard wall. In the fierce battle, a row of heroes who stood out from my position was sacrificed, and the front position gradually retreated to the main position, connecting a large house as a barrier.
The commander of the 2nd Battalion in the main line, Lan Ju, held his position calmly, making the enemy inaccessible. In the midday of the battle, the regimental commander ordered the 3rd Battalion to attack the enemy with a continuous shooting to support my left-wing position. However, the enemy resisted and progressed slowly and failed to restrain the enemy's attack. However, the Fengxi position still persisted.

By 4 o'clock in the afternoon, the enemy was unable to attack for a long time, and the main force was bypassed from the right side of Fengxi to the side of my left-wing position, and was violently blocked by the 8th Company of the 3rd Battalion in Chihu Village. The enemy concentrated its superior firepower on the 8th company's position. Our officers and soldiers fought stubbornly and suffered heavy casualties. The Chihu position was once broken by the enemy. At this time, head Huang Guangyan was at the command post on the right rear of Chihu, and learned that Chihu was in danger, immediately put down the receiver, pulled out the pistol, and called the guards beside him and me: "Follow me!"
He rushed forward and led Some of the soldiers of the special platoon rushed towards Chihu, and when they encountered some soldiers who had retreated, they led them back to their positions. The Chihu defender saw the regimental commander braving the bullet rain, and came to the front line command in person. The morale was greatly boosted, so the 8th company stabilized the position and counterattacked the enemy. A fierce battle fought until dusk, and even though the enemy troops rushed towards the wolves and fought hard to compete against the sun, they still failed to attack.Had to take advantage of the cover of night, dragging the corpse and the wounded, and retreating back to Huzhou City.

Our army has a company of nearly a hundred people, and only 30 people below the company commander are left! Later, the commander led the officers and soldiers to hold a painful memorial service to mourn the loyal and brave officers and soldiers who sacrificed heroically to defend the country and the survival of the nation!

2. Commander Huang Guangyan took the night to counterattack the enemy
In early October, the Japanese army in Chaozhou City tried to seize the commanding height of Wushi Mountain on the right side of my right-wing position, forcing our army to withdraw from Wuyang Village and disarm our army Threats to its berm roads and transportation. The enemy used three routes at night to sneak up and lurking in Wushi Mountain along the tortuous ditches and ridges, launching a surprise attack at dawn.

But it was discovered by my sentry as soon as it got bright. According to the guard of Wushi Mountain, my 3rd Battalion and 7th Company outpost squad rose up and fired, and the entire company quickly entered the position and launched a counterattack. The enemy gathered the firepower of its mortars, grenadiers, and light and heavy machine guns and dumped them on the Wushi Mountain position, blasting the rocks.

Wushi Mountain is the protruding part of my right-wing position, which is attacked on three sides. Our defenders have poor weapons, relying only on light machine guns, rifles, and grenades to resist the enemy's powerful fire attacks. They still fought stubbornly. After the fierce battle, the casualties were too great, and they retreated to Wuyang Village in the back of the mountain after dusk. That night, Commander Huang Guangyan ordered me to send an order to the 7th Company to organize a counterattack in the dark to retake the Wushi Mountain position. In the middle of the night, the 7th Company finally regained Wushi Mountain, and the enemy was repelled and flew back to Yunluwei. It was because of the casualties between the enemy and us, and the officers and soldiers of the 7th Company suffered great sacrifices.

The two battles under the command of Huang Guangyan forced Chaozhou City and the enemy of Yunluwei to shrink the city for a long time, and they did not dare to cross the thunder pool for half a step, and the battle line was relatively stable.
In these two battles, the officers and soldiers spent their lives. The spirit of the Chinese sons and daughters in defending the country with loyalty and seeing death as home is eloquent and will always be admired by the Chaoshan people.
