Liao Yaoxiang grew up in an ordinary home, a scholarly family, his parents have always valued his education, Liao Yaoxiang has been studying poetry since he was six Book, with the support of his family, Liao Yaoxiang was full of finances when he was only twelve years old, and was admitted to the New School County Higher Primary School. Later, he was admitted to the Whampoa Military Academy. This was a great thing, but he did not have time to catch up with the admission due to travel expenses, but Liao Yaoxiang did not give up. He took the exam again that year, and finally caught up with the Whampoa VI. And successfully entered the sixth period of Whampoa Military Academy.

At that time, Chiang Kai-shek liked some militarized management ideas in the West, and successively sent many Huangpu students with wisdom roots to study abroad. Liao Yaoxiang naturally won this place because of his excellent grades. Chiang Kai-shek sent specially to study in France. While studying in France, Liao Yaoxiang's professional level in the field of mechanized cavalry advanced by leaps and bounds. He should have returned to China after graduation, but the situation between China and Japan became more and more severe at the time. Liao Yaoxiang, who was worried about the domestic situation, finally chose to fly back to China early.
Liao Yaoxiang played well in the defense of Nanjing. Watching the innocent Chinese die one by one, Liao Yaoxiang’s heart ignited a raging war, and he used his blood to show the Chinese style, and then his superiors made an exception for him. After being promoted many times, Liao Yaoxiang quickly went from a small battalion commander to a deputy commander who could be on his own. In 1939, Liao Yaoxiang became famous because of the heavy blow to the Japanese in Maanshan, and was formally appointed as the commander of the newly formed 22nd Division.

The 22nd Division of the new compilation belongs to the Fifth Army. This team was sent to Burma in 1942 to participate in the Burma Expedition. Liao Yaoxiang led this team to make great achievements and created great energy in the Battle of Burma. The Battle of Savage Mountain reversed the situation of the entire battle. It is said that many foreigners have heard about Liao Yaoxiang’s achievements. He was praised, and he was called General Patton of the East. During the second expedition of the Expeditionary Force, Liao Yaoxiang's newly reorganized 22nd Division was reorganized into the New Sixth Army, and Liao Yaoxiang became the first commander of the New Sixth Army. The New Sixth Army under his command was called the Chinese Tiger by Chiang Kai-shek because of its outstanding record. The New Sixth Army became the Ace Army and was hailed as one of the five main forces of the National Army.

But no matter how powerful he was, he could not beat General Lin Biao. During the Liaoshen Campaign, Liao Yaoxiang was caught in the trap of the People’s Liberation Army because of underestimating the enemy. At that time, Liao Yaoxiang was the commander of the Ninth Corps. Wan Dajun was annihilated and he himself was captured. After being captured, Liao Yaoxiang was sent to the Jiamusi War Criminals Management Center for reform. In 1956, he was imprisoned in the Beijing Gongdelin War Criminals Management Office and became a Gongdelin war criminal. Liao Yaoxiang was active during the reconstruction of Beijing Gongdelin, and was finally pardoned for the third batch in 1961.

One year after his release from prison, old colleagues such as Liao Yaoxiang and Du Yuming became colleagues again, mainly serving as commissioners of culture and history in the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Unfortunately, he suffered injustices in the 1960s. Treated and died in 1968.
