In the socialist revolution and construction, whether to insist on independence and self-reliance, or to pursue foreign slave philosophy and creepism, this is the principle difference between the two lines, and it is an important aspect of the struggle between the two classes and the two roads in the socialist historical stage.
Around the summer of last year, someone concocted the "Three Instructions as the Keyline" and advocated the theory of productivity. Under the guise of "everything is for modernization," he also sold foreign slave philosophy. He publicly advocated placing the hope of developing production and science and technology in foreign countries, shouting that "we should give out more things in exchange for the latest and best equipment from foreign countries", and said that "this is the most reliable" and "a big policy." Suddenly, the wind of foreignness and foreignness started blowing again. The creations of the domestic working people have been ridiculed by discussions, and the revolutionary spirit of insisting on self-reliance has been criticized and attacked. It seems that insisting on independence and self-reliance is wrong, and it is justified to promote foreign slave philosophy and creepism.
Like the trend of overturning verdicts on the education, science and technology, literature and art, health and other fronts, the spearhead of this trend is also directly aimed at the proletarian revolutionary line. At present, the great struggle is being carried out in depth. We must continue to criticize the foreign slave philosophy and expose the reactionary nature of the foreign slave philosophy and creepism promoted by some people.

Chairman Mao pointed out: "Self-reliance should be the main thing, with foreign aid as a supplement, get rid of superstition, carry out industry and agriculture independently, carry out technological revolution and cultural revolution, overthrow the slave mentality, bury dogmatism, and study foreign countries seriously. We must also study the bad experiences of foreign countries - and draw lessons from them. This is our line. "
This Marxist line is based on firmly believing in and relying on the people, and firmly believing in and exerting the superiority of the socialist system. The wealth of society is created by workers, farmers and working intellectuals themselves. On the basis of the socialist system, our people can exert endless power. We have the leadership of the party. As long as we adhere to the party's basic line throughout the entire historical stage of socialism, carry out the revolution in the relations of production and the superstructure, give full play to the advantages of the socialist system, and unleash the wisdom and creativity of the people, we can fully rely on our own strength to build a powerful socialist country with modern agriculture, modern industry, modern national defense, and modern science and technology.
On the contrary, the leaders of the opportunist line always advocate foreign slave philosophy and creepism, and promote a line that is completely opposite to independence and self-reliance.

They cannot see the power of the proletariat and the masses of the people, and fundamentally deny the Marxist truth that the masses of the people create history; they obliterate the differences between socialism and capitalism, the dictatorship of the proletariat and the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, and do not believe in the superiority of the socialist system.
They prostrate themselves before the Western bourgeoisie and are willing to crawl step by step behind others. They even advocate treason and surrender and live by begging from foreign countries. This is the route they pursue. During the revolution and movement, the broad masses and cadres conducted in-depth criticism of the foreign slave philosophy and crawlerism line promoted by some people, which greatly enhanced their revolutionary ambition and greatly inspired the revolutionary spirit of the broad masses to build socialism through self-reliance. The people across the country are proud and elated, working hard and making many major achievements in the cause of building socialism. The artificial earth satellite returned to the ground as planned, the adoption of new oil exploration and mining technologies, the successful trial production of new products such as large diesel locomotives , large-capacity double water internally cooled steam turbine generators, million-time electronic computers, electron scanning microscopes, various types of CNC machine tools , all show that we are on the road to catching up with and surpassing the world's advanced level. However, the struggle between the two lines was not over.
The difference between us and these people does not lie in whether or not we should "four modernizations", but in which path to take, what line to implement, and where to put the basic point of socialist construction.Chairman Mao has long pointed out: "On what basis should our policy be based? Putting it on the basis of one's own strength is called self-reliance."

Placing a foothold on self-reliance is a fundamental principle for our revolution and construction, and a reliable guarantee for overcoming all difficulties and winning victory. During the revolutionary war years, we relied on our own strength and the creativity of all the military and civilians to defeat Japanese imperialism and the Kuomintang reactionaries. After the victory of the revolutionary war, we relied on self-reliance under very difficult material conditions, broke the imperialist blockade and embargo, withstood the obstruction and sabotage of social imperialism, independently developed the socialist economy , and built a poor and backward old China into a initially prosperous new socialist China. However, the task we face is still very difficult. What do you rely on to complete difficult tasks? The basic one is to fully mobilize and rely on the broad masses of the revolutionary masses. Without this article, we will not be able to build socialism quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively. Therefore, we must consciously adhere to the policy of independence and self-reliance, and we must never deviate from this basic point.
We are a socialist country under the dictatorship of the proletariat and a large country with a large population. We can neither plunder the wealth of other countries' people nor rely on any foreign power for construction. Socialism cannot be built by relying on others and relying on others. Only by starting from the actual situation of the country, relying on the creativity of the people of the country, and fully utilizing and tapping the country's resources and potential can we establish an independent and complete industrial system and national economic system in a not too long time, making our country more able to withstand risks and remain invincible.

According to our experience, in the process of building socialism, a province, a region, a factory, and a commune must carry forward the spirit of self-reliance, let alone a country? Some people are singing the opposite tune, clamoring everywhere to do everything possible to export, to "exchange a lot of good things back." It is said that this can speed up the development of resources, speed up the technological transformation of industry, and speed up the pace of scientific research. It is really wonderful.
Is there really such a thing in the world? There is class struggle in the world, and this is independent of people's will. The workers know this very well from their long-term struggle practice. They say: "We must not tie the fate of socialist construction to other people's belts." This sentence pointedly pointed out that we should pay attention to the danger of being choked by others and led by the nose. If we do not focus on self-reliance and rely on imports for the sake of imports, we even put aside the socialist principle of economic development mainly based on the domestic market and unprincipledly trade exports for imports. This will inevitably lead to a situation where we can import without restrictions what we can produce; we can export without restrictions what we need domestically; we can buy the advanced ones from others and build the backward ones ourselves, and even cede the sovereignty of mining resources to others. If this continues, won't our country be turned into a market, raw material base, repair workshop and investment site for the dumping of products by imperialist countries? There is no speed of industrialization there, and there is still talk of independently developing a socialist economy! This can only serve as an economic appendage of imperialism.

Losing economic independence will make it impossible to be politically independent. The Chinese people have suffered profound pain in history. More than a hundred years ago, the Qing Dynasty Westernization leaders Li Hongzhang and Zeng Guofan , didn't they advocate that "China wants to strengthen itself, it is better to learn foreign weapons. If it wants to learn foreign weapons, it is better to find the tools to make them"? This group of foreign slaves and traitors just want to buy foreign "tools" for so-called "self-improvement." As a result, instead of becoming stronger and stronger, China fell deeper and deeper into the abyss of a colony, semi-colonial .The Kuomintang reactionaries ruled old China for more than 20 years and called for "construction" for more than 20 years. Didn't their so-called "construction" also focus on foreign capitalists and use the country's resources and sovereignty in exchange for foreign equipment? After more than 20 years of change, what tricks did they come up with? National sovereignty and economic lifeline all fell into the hands of imperialism. Aren't people still fresh in their memories of the tragic scene of decline and dilapidation of the old Chinese economy?
In socialist construction, only by focusing on self-reliance and giving full play to the creativity of the people can we truly win high speed. This has been proven by countless facts over the past two decades. Our oil industry has grown at an average rate of more than 20% per year in the past fifteen years, relying on self-reliance. Its speed is so fast that even our enemies cannot deny it.

Since the great revolution , our shipbuilding industry has developed rapidly. Before the Great Revolution, some people preached that "it is better to buy a ship than to build a ship, and it is better to rent a ship than to buy a ship." Machines were introduced, ships were purchased, and their eyes were fixed on some foreign technology patents. Domestic freighters and marine diesel engines could not develop for a long time. During the Great Revolution, the broad masses of workers and cadres criticized the foreign slave philosophy and the line of reptilianism, and this changed the outlook. Isn’t it very clear whether it is faster to be self-reliant or to engage in foreign slave philosophy?
To build socialism, we must first adhere to the correct direction and path. No matter what we do, we must consider whether it is in line with the party's basic line, whether it adheres to the socialist road, and whether it is beneficial to the consolidation of the dictatorship of the proletariat.
Some people, under the guise of boosting the national economy, preach everywhere that as long as they get advanced technology and equipment, they can take any road or use any method.

Can our country’s economic development follow the same path as that of capitalist countries? If you cut open the foreign products, it turns out that many things are from other countries. This phenomenon of economic interdependence is determined by the capitalist system and the world capitalist economic system. Because of this, economic crisis appears in one country, like a plague, and quickly spreads to the entire capitalist world. In fact, even a capitalist country cannot truly develop its own independent economy if it relies entirely on foreign countries. Countries that rely on others to develop their economies, even if their economies develop relatively quickly for a while, are still experiencing false prosperity and have an extremely fragile foundation. As soon as there is any disturbance, there will be one disaster or another disaster. It is almost impossible to control one's own destiny. We are a socialist country. If we want to have our own independent economic system, we can only follow our own path of industrial development. Leaving independence and self-reliance will not only fail to achieve socialist modernization, but will also cause our socialist country to degenerate, restore capitalism, and live by begging from foreign countries.
Our advocacy of self-reliance does not mean that we refuse to learn and study foreign experiences, including good and bad experiences. Nor are we opposed to the introduction of certain truly useful foreign technologies and equipment. However, when dealing with foreign experience, technology, and equipment, we must analyze and identify them in detail, "excreting their dross and absorbing their essence" so that they can be used for our own use. Learning should be combined with originality to achieve excellence. We must not copy them alive, regardless of whether they are good or bad, successful or failed, whatever is suitable for our country's needs and what is not suitable for our country's needs. Chairman Mao has always called on us to get rid of superstition, emancipate our minds, bury dogmatism, overthrow slave thinking, and criticize the foreign slave philosophy that believes that "foreign moons are rounder than China's." Because these things are spiritual shackles that suffocate the innovative and creative spirit of the people and constrain the hands and feet of the people. If foreign dogmas and idols are not swept away, the vivid revolutionary spirit will not be able to emerge.

regards the technology and equipment of capitalist countries as advanced, which is a metaphysical point of view. Some of them are advanced and some are backward. Even advanced things have backward factors. They cannot be said to be absolutely good without analysis. What’s more, due to the decadent nature of the capitalist system, there has been a trend of technological stagnation in some sectors.China has suffered great losses in the past by absorbing foreign things in a formalistic way. Those who blindly worship foreign countries look down upon the wisdom and strength of their own people. They are inferior to "foreign" people and think that they are inferior to others in everything, even inferior to some bourgeois thinkers. The scholar Yan Fu of the Qing Dynasty admired the saying "Those who learn from me will be sick, and those who come will be more likely to succeed." He did not advocate copying by rote, and understood the principle that one can catch up later.
We cannot follow the old path of technological development in various countries around the world and crawl step by step behind others. We must have proletarian ambitions, dare to take the road that has not been taken by our predecessors, and dare to climb the peaks that have not been climbed by our predecessors. We must have what foreign countries have; we must have what foreign countries do not have.

The workers said boldly: If the Western bourgeoisie can do it, the Eastern proletariat can also do it. And we can do it better; what the Western bourgeoisie cannot do, our Eastern proletariat can also do.
regards the things of the Chinese and foreign bourgeoisie as fetishes and has never looked down upon the creations of the people of our country. They can only follow others forever. This foreign slave philosophy is very unpopular and has naturally been resisted and criticized by the people. They are extremely dissatisfied with this kind of resistance and criticism. However, the rationale is not on their side. The bourgeois "big men" try to stifle the initiative spirit of the people and suppress them, but they cannot do so.
Foreign slave philosophy and reptileism have deep class roots and ideological roots. The line of revisionism and is also the line of the bourgeoisie. China's comprador bourgeoisie has always been a vassal of imperialism and has always followed the philosophy of foreign slaves. The national bourgeoisie is inherently weak and is afraid of both the people and imperialism. It has a contradictory aspect with imperialism. For a period of time, it is possible to form a united front with the people to oppose imperialism. However, it also has a side that is dependent on the imperialist economy. It often succumbs to the pressure of imperialism and worships foreign countries. Those in power within the party who take the capitalist road are the bourgeoisie within the party.

During the stage of the democratic revolution, they came into the party with this bad nature of the bourgeoisie. Entering the period of socialist revolution, it did not change its footing and still represented the bourgeoisie. They are afraid of the masses and the evil nature of imperialism will become more and more apparent, so they cannot be in a position of sharp opposition to the broad masses of the people. Class surrender and national surrender are twin brothers. To engage in class capitulation at home, we must engage in national capitulation externally and advocate foreign slave philosophy.
Foreign slave philosophy is the spiritual product of imperialism's long-term invasion of our country. As long as classes and class struggle still exist, and as long as imperialism still exists, the ghost of foreign slave philosophy will always linger in the minds of some people. Therefore, criticizing foreign slave philosophy is a long-term struggle task that must be carried out repeatedly. We must thoroughly criticize foreign slave philosophy and revisionism, more consciously adhere to the principles of independence and self-reliance, accelerate the pace of socialist construction in our country, and carry the continued revolution under the dictatorship of the proletariat to the end.
