Danjiangkou City is a city under the jurisdiction of Shiyan City . It was called Junzhou after being Junling in ancient times.

In 1965, the Yunyang Regional Administrative Office was restored and Junxian was under the jurisdiction of the county. On August 19, 1983, Junxian was abolished and Danjiangkou City was established. It was under the provincial (county-level) city and was managed by Yunyang District. On October 29, 1994, Yunyang District and Shiyan City merged to form a new Shiyan City. Danjiangkou City has been in charge of Shiyan City to this day.

Danjiangkou City has prospered because of water and has a long history. However, it is not the same now.
