Life is easy to get old but God is hard to grow old. One year before the founding of New China, I was born in Shanghai in the old society. Because of the background of the times, my childhood, youth, youth and middle age have experienced ups and downs, and I can be said to have experienced all the ups and downs.
Nowadays, as an old man over 70 years old and sitting in a hurry. When this special moment comes today, I feel filled with emotion. As a "peer" of the Republic, I have witnessed the motherland's journey from poverty and drooling, and step by step to the most powerful country in the world today.
I feel extremely proud as I am Chinese.
I settled in Hong Kong and recently returned to the mainland to visit relatives. Whenever I encounter a staff member checking my ID, they will always say casually, are you not Chinese? I will subconsciously correct him. You are wrong. Although I don’t have a Chinese ID card, I am Chinese and Hong Kong belongs to China.
Just on September 30, the day before the National Day, with the help of a friend, I applied for a mainland residence permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents, and for the first time I had a citizen ID number starting from 810,000. I believe that if I encounter similar situations in the future, I don’t have to take out my home return certificate. I just need to take out the Hong Kong residents’ mainland residence permit , which is the same as the mainland ID card, and they will blurt out, you are Chinese!
Yes, I am Chinese!
National Day is here. After experiencing the "black violence", Hong Kong has restored long-term stability and the festive atmosphere of celebrating the National Day has become stronger. The streets and alleys are covered with "Chinese red" early. The five-star red flag and the Bauhinia flower area flag are complemented by each other. The festival decorations such as colorful flags, lanterns and traditional flower signs are also everywhere, fully demonstrating the joyful and peaceful atmosphere of the festival.
At 8 am, a grand flag-raising ceremony will be held in the Golden Bauhinia Plaza in Wan Chai, Hong Kong as usual. In addition, many universities, primary and secondary schools and groups in Hong Kong will hold large-scale flag-raising ceremonies and cultural evenings to celebrate the National Day.
Such a strong festive atmosphere shows that Hong Kong people’s recognition and love for the country are gradually deepening.
In the blink of an eye, it has been 25 years since Hong Kong's return to the motherland. This period of time is shaking and thorns are everywhere. Anti-China forces abroad have been eyeing each other, and Hong Kong rioters also have made ill-thinking plans, causing various hardships to Hong Kong and disrupting the peace and stability of Hong Kong society several times.
Fortunately, Hong Kong is backed by the motherland and with the strong support of the motherland, we can overcome these many hardships, achieve chaos and governance, and move forward to the road from governance to prosperity; fortunately, the people of Hong Kong can forge ahead and move towards a better life with the backing of the motherland!
In the future, Hong Kong people should be more proactive in integrating into the overall development of the country. While seizing personal development opportunities, they can also contribute to the prosperity of the country and the rejuvenation of the nation.
This time I returned to the mainland to visit relatives, I felt deeply the great changes in the mainland, and I was even more proud of the country's rapid development over the years. All this is hard-won. How many ancestors (including my family members) have the blood and sweat that have brought us happiness and prosperity today. Therefore, we need to be self-reliant and strive. We need to firmly defend and further develop the fruits watered by our ancestors in the great changes in the world that have not been seen in a century, and contribute our strength to the country!
And I, with my old body, with my body that is better than a 50-year-old and a 30-year-old mentality, with the pen as the blade and the ink as the tip, will stand firmly on the side of the motherland, insist on speaking for the people and standing guard for the nation.
I will do my best to devote myself to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and will not stop until my death!
