□Zhou Yuqiang

On October 21, 1977, "People's Daily" announced to the people of the country the important news of "resuming the college entrance examination" with the title "National College Admissions Conference Proposes Admissions Opinions for this Year". I never thought that I would still be able to take the college entrance examination.
Time goes back to 1966, when the unprecedented "Cultural Revolution" movement broke out. I graduated from elementary school that year and was 12 years old. Due to the suspension of classes and the revolution, junior high schools, high schools, and universities no longer enroll students normally. My studies came to an abrupt halt, and I felt a little disappointed. According to my academic performance, I should be able to get into junior high school.
Going back to 1960, that year was the beginning of the country’s three-year “ natural disaster ” campaign. Before I was six years old, my kindergarten teacher thought I was more obedient and sent me to elementary school (actually, I was sent to elementary school for the sake of being an imbecile). I became a primary school student in a daze.
I vaguely remember that the night before I went to school, my mother sewed a drawstring schoolbag for me, and then dug out my eldest sister’s old top and a pair of flowered cloth shoes and asked me to put them on. This outfit was so out of place that it led passers-by to guess whether this little devil was a boy or a girl. I was the youngest among the classmates in
class, and I was thin and weak due to malnutrition. I was often bullied by my classmates. Seeing others taking out potatoes and taro from their pockets to show off, I could only stare blankly, letting saliva flow from the corner of my mouth.
Hunger was so unbearable that the memory cannot be erased to this day. I am most afraid of winter, when there is lack of food and clothing in the snow and ice. I am often hungry and trembling all over. My hands and feet were frozen, and I also had red and swollen chilblains. I couldn't untie my belt when going to the toilet, and I couldn't hold the pen during the exam. I like summer. During the long summer vacation, I only need a pair of shorts to go out and have fun. Climbing trees to catch birds, swimming in rivers, digging sweet potatoes in farmers' fields to eat when hungry, and drinking cold water from wells when thirsty.
In that era, survival was not easy, and having enough food and clothing was a luxury.
The little boy has few worries and looks around at the sunshine; the little boy has not eaten enough, so his worries increase. This is an episode from the German movie " Handsome Boy ". I changed the words to make it look like my boyhood.
Hunger limits the imagination of progress. When I was in the second grade of elementary school, I almost repeated the grade. It was not until my teacher came to visit my home to warn me that my mind was awakened. One of the things that gave me the biggest boost happened on March 5, 1963. The People's Daily published Chairman Mao's inscription "Learn from Comrade Lei Feng." The newspaper also published "Lei Feng's Diary" one after another. A perfect role model suddenly settled in the young mind. I started imitating journaling and looking for opportunities to do good things. There is an arched Tongji Bridge across the Tiao River near my home. I saw that it was difficult for the workers pulling the two-wheeled vehicles to go up the slope. I acted as a pusher behind the vehicle and pushed the vehicle to the top of the bridge with all my strength. , and then watched the two-wheeled vehicle go downhill quickly. When the diary of good deeds was written on the school blackboard and praised by the class teacher, I felt very satisfied. The sense of honor for doing good things for others sprouted instantly (it was only when I grew up that I realized that good children are praised by adults). When
entered the fifth or sixth grade, the country's economic situation improved, and my academic progress also made great progress. I became the study committee member of the class for two consecutive years.
According to normal circumstances, the promotion to junior high school in 1966 was a matter of course. However, life is unpredictable and there is no hope of going to school.
From the second half of 1966 to the first half of 1969, he dropped out of school and stayed at home for nearly three years, witnessing the social turmoil with his own eyes. From the initial overwhelming display of big-character posters and loud debates to mass bloody fights, from justified rebellion, confiscation of homes and street parades to the overthrow of the capitalist roaders, from civil attacks on military guards and loaded guns with live ammunition to two factions going to war and leaving corpses on the streets. Having just graduated from elementary school, I only found "revolution" dazzling and "rebellion" inhumane. Together with a group of kids watching the fun, I happily walked through the streets and alleys, distributing the leaflets I picked up, tearing off the layers of large-character posters on the bulletin board, and taking them home to use as kindling.
However, I almost got into trouble once. We were unveiling big-character posters when we suddenly encountered several rebels who pushed the three of us to the ground and said that we were spies sent by the "Red Storm".There was no room for explanation. We were dragged alive and locked into a small room at the headquarters of the "Provincial Federation" (Yuhang Workers' Cultural Palace). The door was locked, but fortunately there was a window. We climbed out of the window while it was getting dark and no one was paying attention, and escaped.
When a fight occurs, intensive gunshots will be heard. Being ignorant and fearless, we were doing a very risky thing at this time, which was to go to the scene to pick up the bullet casings left behind. Whoever collects more among the friends will be the best. Later I discovered that the People's Liberation Army's shooting range also had bullet casings and to pick up. We accumulated more and more bullet casings, and then played the bullet casings as a game of winning or losing. My throwing skills were good (I used my own bullet casing to hit the opponent's bullet casing two or three meters away), and I was very proud of myself for winning "millions of dollars".
Until one day, my father (the head of the Handicraft Federation), who was honest, kind and loyal to the party, was also "bombarded" and "fired", and came to the stage to fight with him. During that time, the whole family was humiliated, my father remained silent, and life was very dull. Only then did I feel that "revolution" was no longer fun.
Looking back, the "Cultural Revolution" made us suspend schooling at home, which delayed our school time. However, three years of social life after leaving school gave me a different kind of life experience.
My family is an urban resident, with eight people in the family including my grandmother, parents, and brothers and sisters. Because my parents’ salary is not high, it is not easy to support the whole family. My 14-year-old brother and 12-year-old me have naturally become the new labor force in the family.
Not far from home, we rented a vegetable garden (estimated to be two to three hundred square meters). All year round, from summer to cold and from spring to autumn, we plant a variety of seasonal vegetables and fruits on this small piece of land. From seedling raising to fertilizing and watering, from controlling insects to being a grass man to repel birds, we are like two vegetable farmers. . The plants matured and harvested one after another, which not only provided the family with a continuous supply of vegetables and food, but also sold our agricultural products in the small market in the town. We are often chased away by "red armbands" when we do this. Fortunately, we do not have a fixed stall, so we can move to another place after a shot, thus avoiding the risk of being confiscated.
We not only grow vegetables, we also raise chickens, ducks, and pigs, touch snails, dig river mussels , and catch frogs. We will not let go of anything that can be eaten or sold for money. Although there were gains, there were also considerable dangers. Once I went to fish at the sluice connecting Tiao River and the inland river. The water here was two or three meters deep. I plunged in suddenly, and suddenly I felt an undercurrent rushing me into the bottom of the gate. I panicked for a moment, thinking that I was being haunted by a drowning ghost, and my body could not come out of the water. Fortunately, I touched the wooden gate under the water. I climbed up hard and got out of the water. Without this gate, my life would be doomed...
At that time, there were various "little jobs" available in the town (you could earn about one yuan a day), such as carrying sand, digging earth, and moving. Kiln firing bricks, rolling broom silk, etc.
I remember one hot summer day, my friends and I went to a winery to inspect the wine. A large number of empty wine jars were piled up like a hill. We tapped the hot jars with bare feet, judged by the sound, found the broken jars, and then moved them out as payment for piece-rate labor. Unexpectedly, this is a very technical job. I didn't step firmly on the "Hongshan", which caused the winery to collapse like a domino, and the person also rolled down, and even fell several times. It doesn't matter if you get some flesh injuries, but you will have to pay for the broken wine bottle.
can no longer do this job, but it still has to solve the problem of losing money. The foreman in charge gave me a bucket and asked me to fetch water from a canal a hundred meters away. I poured hundreds of kilograms of river water into a large wine vat containing 60-degree liquor and diluted it to about 30 degrees. This is a job of physical strength and alcohol. If you add too little water, the alcohol content will be high. If you add too much water, the alcohol content will be low. You can judge by taking a few licks. After repeating it several times, the drunkenness is so high that the person stumbles, and he still has the strength to fetch water. (From that experience, I knew that I was not born to drink.)
There is a rice breeding farm in Nanhu, Yuhang. Every time during the " Double Grab " season, idle people in the town are recruited to cut rice and transplant rice. I have also participated. A team of "hired workers" to earn some hard money.I woke up early in the dark and sweated profusely. In order to keep up with the progress, I accidentally cut my left index finger with a sickle. It bled profusely. The scar is still clearly visible to this day.
After experiencing various "small jobs", I feel that my small body is really not good enough, and physical labor is by no means my strong point. I figure that I need to have a skill in order to be successful in life. Then, chefs, barbers, and photographers came into my sight. After the dream of
sprouted, I tried every means to get close to and become familiar with these industries. First of all, I bought a set of hand-made hair cutting tools, and I caught a few friends to try them out for free. Bald, crew-cut, and Western-styled hair, he was able to master them all without a teacher, and he actually gained a bit of fame. I bought a small book on Hangzhou famous dishes and followed the same example. During the Chinese New Year, I made high-end dishes such as West Lake Vinegar Fish , Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs at home. My parents were very surprised and praised me for my potential as a cook. . Naturally, I couldn’t afford a camera, so I could only occasionally borrow or rent one. After careful consideration of aperture, speed, and focus, I quickly found the feel for it. I didn't earn much money, but I dared to go to a stationery store to buy film, photographic paper, developer, and fixer . I developed, printed, and enlarged the photos in a red darkroom wrapped in red cloth. I confidently believed that when I had money, it would be entirely possible for me to become a photographer.
At that time, a bigger dream emerged in my mind...
In the early days of the "Cultural Revolution", the library of Yuhang Middle School was robbed by the Red Guards. Many books were lost to the public, and my brother also collected some and hid them under the bed. I was as happy as if I had discovered a treasure. Whenever I had some time, I would quietly hide in the utility room and read novels. "How Steel is Tempered" by Ostrovsky, "Hunter's Notes" by Turgenev, "Red and Black" by Stendhal, "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" by Luo Guanzhong ", Shi Naian 's " Water Margin ", etc., reading one after another, it is like entering a palace of literature. I will lose my mind if I don't read novels for a day.
Among them, the most impressive one is Gorky 's autobiographical novel "My University". Gorky dropped out of high school and never went to college. I seem to have found my own target. If Gorky can become a great Soviet writer, can I also have a literary dream?
Of course, the literature I understood at that time was novels, and weren’t novels just fictional stories?
So, I started telling stories to my friends in the neighborhood. It starts with telling some detective stories that one has read or heard from hearsay, and the suspense is based on whether the protagonist commits suicide or is killed by others, and slowly branches out, setting up many doubts, whetting the audience's appetite; some stories have the inspiration of the original novel. Based on the basics, make some appropriate developments and divide it into several chapters to tell the story; some stories are improvisational and often only have a gimmick opening without a reasonable ending. Even so, I have become the story king among my friends. Enjoying the coolness on a summer night, I was surrounded, urged, and served by children and adults, and I started to watch TV series every day. In exchange, some of the manual chores I usually do (such as fetching water and chopping firewood) were voluntarily done by loyal listeners.
I have a little creative impulse, and I secretly thought that I might become a "storyteller". In order to tell more stories, I borrowed books from everywhere and read novels from both ancient and modern times, both at home and abroad. Although I swallowed them all, I developed my ability to memorize them briefly.
In those years, although my material life was poor, my spiritual life was still very fulfilling. It is quite a joy to "not hear what is going on outside the window, and only read novels and books".
In 1969 (when I was supposed to graduate from junior high school), the primary school graduates known as the "new third generation" entered junior high school together. The class at that time was organized as a company and platoon, and the class I was in was "two companies and one platoon". When
was in school, ideological and political courses were put first, mainly learning and applying Chairman Mao's quotations (Supreme Instructions). Everyone had to speak during the weekly "Learning and Practical Meetings", so I learned to write routine articles on "New Eight-legged Composition".Under the slogans of "Three Loyalties" and "Four Unlimiteds", we sang songs of loyalty and danced the dance of "loyalty". Inadvertently, I learned many songs and dances, and was selected into the school's "Mao Zedong Thought Literary and Art Propaganda Team". In addition to being a dancer An actor, he also learns erhu, violin, yangqin and other musical instruments. We often go to the streets, go to the countryside, and even perform in the army. I feel that I am very interested in literature and art, and I am considered a person with artistic talents.

In the winter of 1969, the Yuhang County Dongfeng Yue Opera Troupe (then renamed the "County Mao Zedong Thought Literary and Art Propaganda Team") came to the school to recruit actors. After several rounds of preliminary and re-examinations, I was actually selected to join the county theater troupe. This is a job with a formal status (the county's special approval quota for actors), and everyone is envious of it. Naturally, I am overjoyed.
If nothing unexpected happens, I will intern in the county theater troupe for one year and then start my acting career.
The county troupe before the "Cultural Revolution" was a women's Yue Opera troupe. In the wave of overthrowing feudal lords, Yue Opera was forced to stop performing. Instead, they performed Peking Opera " Revolutionary Model Opera " (the so-called eight model operas for 800 million people). The troupe changed from singing Yue opera to Peking opera, which was very difficult in itself, and there was a serious shortage of male actors. The slogan at that time was "If there are no conditions, create conditions", which was as heroic as "The boldness of the people is the result of the land."
Our new young actors who joined the troupe were valued very much, but they were even more tortured. Literary opera and martial arts are trained together, the so-called: four skills and five methods , that is, "singing, chanting, doing fighting, hands, eyes, body and steps". After all, he is a frail fifteen-year-old boy who is really not used to these strict homework trainings. I get up at five o'clock in the morning, hang my voice in the open space behind the troupe, and practice martial arts (called " blanket skills") in the small rehearsal hall in the afternoon. I remember practicing opera martial arts such as laba, cloud hand , kicking, flipping, somersaulting, hair shifting, and back grabbing. The troupe is really trying to help us grow, and wants to train us into civil and military students in the shortest possible time.
A few months later, I went on stage and acted as the second Japanese soldier, the New Fourth Army soldier A and other supporting roles in the Peking operas "Red Lantern" and "Shajiabang". The
accident still happened.
In the ninth scene of "Running" in "Shajiabang", several New Fourth Army soldiers had to jump (hair-flipping and back-grabbing) to climb over a wall. I was second in line to jump, my movements were normal, and I crossed the wall and landed on my shoulders. Unexpectedly, before I could get up, the soldier behind jumped in two seconds early and bumped into my back. I screamed and fell to the ground instantly... The play was not over yet, the tenth scene "Gathering and Annihilation" "The music suddenly sounded, and I lay on my side in the side curtain, feeling like my breathing was about to stop!
I was taken to the hospital on a stretcher. X-rays showed a mild contusion on the spine and severe internal bleeding on the left shoulder and back. Fortunately, there was no danger of paralysis. After two days of bed rest, I asked for sick leave and went home. My mother saw the large bruises on my back and the large bulge, and she burst into tears: "Son, you are not destined to be an actor, so quit your job and go home!"
My mother's fate cannot be violated. Although I was very hesitant in my heart, I still filed a report and applied to leave the troupe. When I said goodbye, I was reluctant to say goodbye and shed tears. My instructor said, "One minute on stage, ten years of hard work off stage." Being a good actor really requires hard work. This is absolutely true, but I became a deserter.
It was the summer of 1970 when I returned to school. Junior high school graduates with urban household registration were facing the "four aspects" distribution (students with rural household registration returned to their hometowns). Different from the "red" situation in 1968 when junior high school and high school graduates went to work in the mountains and countryside, the junior high school graduates of the 1970s had different allocation quotas for factories, rural areas, frontiers and the construction corps.

graduated from junior high school in September 1970. I am the first from the left in the front row.
I chose to go to the frontier and took the initiative to sign up to work as a forestry worker in the Daxinganling region on the border of Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia.
"The scenery of the Northland, thousands of miles of ice, thousands of miles of snow..." "Qinyuan Spring·Snow" made my heart flutter, and the scenes in the novel " Forest and Snow Plains " also fascinated me.My brother joined the army not long after he went to the countryside to become an educated youth. In order to support me in going to the freezing north, he sent a green military blanket from the army. The luggage is all ready, just waiting for the order to set off.
However, my son was traveling thousands of miles away and my mother was worried. My mother went behind my back and went to the school propaganda team leader and asked me if my eldest son was sent to the countryside and was a member of the military. Is it possible to consider being assigned to the Zhejiang Construction Corps nearby? The leader really listened and crossed out my name from the list assigned to go to Daxinganling . The longing was disillusioned, and I was really lost. Several classmates who had agreed to go together felt very sorry for me, and some even laughed at me for being too weak and lacking my own opinion.
Next, he can only choose to join the Construction Corps as a soldier. The name "Bingtuan" is very catchy. We all thought it was a quasi-military team with military establishment, so many people signed up. One day, a leader in a military coat came to the school to mobilize and introduce the formation and working conditions of the Corps. After listening to it, he learned that the so-called Corps was a semi-military agricultural farm established after the disarmament of the People's Liberation Army. We, who are about to become the new soldiers of the Corps, are going to Guali, Xiaoshan, and our main mission is to reclaim land from the sea.
The officer also announced a message at the meeting: The Zhejiang Corps is about to form the largest "Mao Zedong Thought Literary and Art Propaganda Team" in the province. He hopes that students with literary and artistic talents can actively sign up and become literary warriors of the Corps after passing the assessment.
Because I had experience as an actor in a county troupe and as a violin learner, I boldly signed up. A few days later, the school notified me to go to the Zhejiang Construction Corps headquarters (Hangzhou Xiaocheqiao Compound, the original site of the Kuomintang Army Prison, now Wanghu Hotel ) for an interview. The courtyard was crowded with a large group of artistic young people, and the vocal music group, dance group, and instrumental music group were taking exams in several venues. I applied for the instrumental music group. I saw that most of the applicants were erhu, flute , pipa , etc., and I was a violinist. Remember that the test is to play a self-selected song and a designated song (" my motherland "). After the exam, the teacher said: "You fill out a form, and the school will notify you whether you are admitted or not."
Judging from the teacher's calm face, I felt that admission might be a bit uncertain.
was a little anxious at home waiting for the notification, seeing that the classmates assigned to the Corps were about to leave. I'm a little confused, why is there no definite news?
Next, we saw off the classmates who were leaving for the frontier and then the classmates who were leaving for the Corps in a lively manner. I'm alone and I don't know where I'm going. My mother comforted me: "It doesn't matter if you are not admitted to the Corps Propaganda Team, you can just be an unemployed youth at home."
I could only go to the school to ask the leader about the situation. The Worker Propaganda Team Captain was a cadre who had transferred from the army to the factory. He laughed. The ground told me that after we discussed it, the Corps would not let you go, and you would stay in school to be assigned. I was suddenly surprised, what does "to be assigned" mean?
One night two days later, my junior high school teacher Tang Yizhen came to my home. (I happened to be not at home) and he told my mother something unexpected.
This matter is due to the notice from the County Culture and Education Bureau that Yuhang Middle School will immediately open a high school class (only one). After careful selection, I have been selected to enter the high school class. There are three reasons: first, the family's political conditions are good; second, I have good academic performance; third, I have literary and artistic talents. Teacher Tang said that the Cultural Propaganda Team of the Corps has already been recruited, but the school also has a cultural propaganda team and is in urgent need of literary and artistic backbones. If you choose to go to high school, you don’t have to go to the Construction Corps.
That's it. However, I was not happy. Although I could find a job to earn my own living, I was locked away on campus without my consent (I felt so much at the time that I wanted to leave school and fly freely in society). But the teacher and my mother had the same opinion: to the effect that "everything is inferior, only studying is superior." Thinking about it now, this was a turning point in my life.
From the beginning of 1971 to the end of 1972, as the only high school class in the school, our growth was highly valued by the school (equipped with the most qualified head teacher and classroom teachers). It is at this stage that we study seriously and study engineering, agriculture, and military affairs in a decent manner. There are midterm and final exams every semester, and students with good academic performance are envied and respected.I served as the Chinese class representative and class art committee member, and my scores in all subjects (except English) were among the best. With a better learning atmosphere and teachers' encouragement, I became more and more interested in reading.

1971 When I was in high school.
In 1971, two major events occurred that shocked China and the world. First, US President Richard Nixon's National Security Assistant Kissinger arrived in Beijing secretly. The announcement of Kissinger's first visit to China on July 16 opened a new stage in Sino-US relations. Second, on September 13, 1971, Lin Biao and others took a Trident plane to flee the country and committed treason. The plane crashed in Wendurhan, Mongolia. The plane crashed and everyone died. The "9.13" incident objectively declared the bankruptcy of the theory and practice of the "Cultural Revolution". After that, Zhou Enlai took charge of the daily work of the Central Committee, and Ye Jianying took charge of the daily work of the Central Military Commission. All aspects of work began to turn around.

In 1972, US President Richard Nixon visited China. China and the United States issued the " Joint Communiqué " in Shanghai, marking the beginning of the normalization process of relations between the two countries. The saying at the time was "the small ball drives the big ball." In September of that year, Japanese Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka was invited to visit China to negotiate and resolve the issue of normalizing diplomatic relations between China and Japan.
Why are you talking about China’s good relations with the United States and Japan? Because the impression was very profound. I have a process from not understanding to understanding. This is the philosophical enlightenment I got through studying dialectics (high school has a politics class). I understand that everything in the world is changing, and both good and bad things will happen according to the changes of internal and external factors. change. Former enemies can also negotiate peace, thereby turning crises into opportunities and maximizing national interests. I feel that the country’s foreign policies are undergoing positive changes. Are we young people ushering in a good era?
In the blink of an eye, it was the end of 1972, and I was once again facing the deadline for graduation from high school. At that time, the policy of sending educated youth to the mountains and countryside was still being implemented, and the probability of joining the queue to settle down after graduation was still very high. I remember that a group of classmates with urban household registration felt a little depressed when discussing their future after graduation during self-study in the evening. Someone said, "Where is the hometown at sunset? The Yanbo River makes people sad." Unexpectedly, the words got out and he was almost treated as a reactionary. It can be seen that the concept of class struggle was still very strong at that time.
Life is like this. When you have no hope for the future, life will often give you unexpected surprises. On the eve of graduation, good news suddenly came. The Hangzhou Municipal Revolutionary Committee decided to recruit 500 high school graduates from the 1972 class in the city (including municipal counties) to serve as intern middle school teachers (called primary school teachers at the time).

December 1972, myself, third from right in the back row.
seems to have a reason.
From the suspension of the college entrance examination in 1966, to the resumption of middle school enrollment in 1969, there were almost no new teachers in major middle schools, and the teaching staff was already in short supply. Hangzhou City decided to select graduates from good family backgrounds and excellent academic performance from the first high school class during the "Cultural Revolution" to enrich the teaching team. Although it was an expedient measure, it was indeed well-intentioned.
With luck, I will become a middle school teacher. The worries about going to the mountains and countryside have disappeared.
Due to the freeze of the national " enterprise establishment " at that time, "little teachers" could only teach as "public substitute teachers". After a year of internship, we still couldn't wait for the official establishment, which made everyone emotionally unstable. They once went to sit-in in front of the "Municipal Revolutionary Committee" and demanded that formal work be re-arranged. Relevant departments had no choice but to agree that those who did not want to be teachers could be assigned to work in factories. At that time, industrial workers were far more popular than middle school teachers, so most of them happily abandoned teaching and joined the workforce, becoming regular workers in factories. There are also some people who are willing to continue teaching and wait for the official establishment to be announced. I am one of them.
Just like that, from the spring of 1973 to the autumn of 1978, I worked as a middle school teacher for six years. We didn’t wait until the official establishment was completed, but we received the unexpected surprise of resuming the college entrance examination!

In 1975, I was teaching on the middle school campus.
The news of the college entrance examination is like a thunderclap on a clear day, causing thousands of waves to rise with one stone. Test? Still not taking the exam? The multiple-choice question of life path is placed in front of me.After feeling confused for a while, I made a trade-off for myself: I would not take the exam because I have an urban registered permanent residence and already have a stable job as a teacher (monthly salary of 32 yuan plus food subsidy of 1.5 yuan), so I belong to the middle-income group. Moreover, I am highly valued by the leaders in the school, and the students also like my lectures very much. In time, I can join the party and get promoted, and I will have a bright future. I want to take the exam because I want to change my career as a teacher.
Why should we change the teaching profession? There is a reason: when I was in junior high school, I was selected to be a small actor in the county troupe. Because the throat is raised every day and the method of vocalization is incorrect, suppuration and inflammation often occur in the throat. Once I had a high fever that lasted for several days and I lost my voice. This resulted in me suffering from chronic pharyngitis and vocal cord polyps. As long as I continued to talk or sing for more than half an hour, my throat would experience unbearable dryness and pain, and my voice would become hoarse and the volume would decrease.
After he became a teacher, his throat inflammation was never cured because he used his voice too much. It's really painful when a teacher doesn't have a loud voice. I thought that if I could get into college, I could change my career and become a teacher. Of course, going to college not only allows you to change your career, but it is also a matter of honoring your ancestors and getting ahead. Vanity also strongly tempted me.
remembers that it was late November 1977. After registering for the college entrance examination, you had to take the cultural proficiency test (preliminary test). The subjects of the test were Chinese and mathematics. One month before that, I took part in the "Middle School Chinese Teacher Cultural Quality Test" organized by the county. In that test, I won the first place in Yuhang District (county-affiliated district), which gave me a Confidence to win. With almost no preparation, I entered the examination room for the preliminary examination of the college entrance examination. In less than a month, the list for the re-examination came out (the scores were not announced). I was actually a little proud to be at the top of the examination area, and my heart was full of expectations of being "on the gold list."

In the autumn of 1977, on the bank of Tiao River,
The provincial college entrance examination officially started, and now I walked into the examination room for the second time. I can no longer remember the topics about politics, mathematics, and history and geography. I only remember the topics about Chinese. The essay title is "Road". Should I write a narrative or an argumentative essay? I have been thinking about it for more than half the time, and I am still wondering whether it is a "real road" or a "virtual road".
"There is no road in the world, but there are many people walking it." Once it is done, it will become the road" lingering in my mind, so I went in the direction of argumentative essays, justifying myself and making up the number of words.
ringtone The test was canceled before I could finish writing the conclusion. The Chinese language I was most confident in might disappoint me. What I was most worried about was that I wouldn’t be able to pass the mark. Where would I put my reputation as a so-called “middle school Chinese teacher”?
There are always things in the world? I was overjoyed and surprised. A few weeks later, a colleague who was involved in organizing the college entrance examination quietly told me: “Good news or bad news, which one should I hear first? My heart was beating wildly: "Let's hear the bad news first." The other party said: "Because the occupation you filled in on the application materials is a middle school teacher, the county's policy explains that you can only be admitted to normal colleges." "What about the good news?" I asked: "Congratulations, you have entered the admission list, but there is still a 20% elimination rate." "I was happy and worried at the same time. I didn't fill in any normal colleges in my choice before. Will it be included in the 20% elimination rate?
The elimination rules I understand are: failing the political examination, failing the physical examination and If your grades are not good enough to get into your chosen school, you really don’t know the policy that states that public teachers can only apply for normal schools. In fact, “public substitute teachers” are two terms with contradictory meanings. As an attribution, "public" means formal teachers, and "substitute" means non-public teachers. I filled in "middle school teacher" on the registration form because I hoped there would be no ambiguity (I thought I was a public teacher).
Afterwards, I went to the county. The Bureau of Culture and Education asked for an explanation. A cadre in charge of personnel checked the list of teachers in the county and said slowly: "Your personal files are in the list of the Bureau of Culture and Education, which means you are a public teacher."I said: "What explanation does the substitute teacher give? "The other party replied: "There is currently no establishment system for public institutions, so we call for public substitute teachers. Such teachers are different from private teachers. Their salaries are paid by the county finance, and personnel cannot be lost. "
"Public substitute teacher" is really a strange thing of the era, what a puzzling identity! I was smart but I was mistaken!
During the winter vacation of 1977, I did not receive the admission notice .
didn’t win the exam, and I was under increasing psychological pressure. Students at school looked at me a little strangely. Among my classmates and friends, there were some well-intentioned words of encouragement: Your grades are good, but you just didn’t fill out your application. , take the
ht test again next year. ml0 "Those who know me say I am worried, but those who don't know me say what I want."When I was confused and helpless, I could only confide in my mother. My mother had never been to school, but her intelligence and ability to deal with things were far above average. Educated people. I told my mother that I could only take the normal education exam. , I will still be a teacher after graduation. Besides, there is no salary income during college, and the family has to bear the cost of living. My mother laughed and said, "I can support you after you go to college. Isn't it good to go to normal school? Maybe after graduation." You will be a teacher in college. What I am worried about is that you will not pass the exam! "My mother's casual words, I felt the weight of them.
Only half a year later, the "National College Enrollment Opinions" was released in 1978, and the date of the national unified college entrance examination was scheduled to be held from July 20 to July 22. . I decided to take the college entrance examination again.
The college entrance examination in 1978 had a unified political system. The review syllabus for subjects such as Chinese, Chinese, mathematics, and history and geography was vast in content, but the scope was defined and the key points of knowledge were clear. My advantage was that in the first half of 1978, the school leaders decided to let me serve as the class teacher of the high school graduating class. , that is to say, I will be responsible for the review exams in the last semester of the high school graduation class, and at the same time, I will be reviewing for the college entrance examination with the students I get along with day and night. Studying for the college entrance examination is actually very stressful. Although I secretly made up my mind to take the college entrance examination again, I didn't publicly declare that I would take the college entrance examination. I pretended to be cool and left myself some room.
That's it, during the day. I would review classes for students at school and prepare lessons by myself in the dormitory at night. At that time, many people chose to attend classes in advanced classes, but I didn’t even have a day. I have been to a high-level review class. On the one hand, I am ashamed to review in the same classroom with young people. On the other hand, I feel that the effect of learning while teaching is far better than reviewing in the high-level review class.
This is really the learning secret I discovered: The night before, I tried to read and solve problems by myself, remembering the key points. The next day, I explained the process in class and asked the students Asking it again strengthens the knowledge memory and makes the review very efficient. This is really my advantage as a teacher.
I still used this method until I went to college. Every night before the exam, I would call some classmates together. To exchange the key points for answering questions, I took the initiative to serve as a lecturer. I expressed the key points of the exam one by one, and I had a clear idea in my mind. Of course There will also be omissions, and the students will point them out in time, which makes up for my blind spots. My secret for taking the exam is: it is better to read it once than to read it once, it is better to write it once than to read it once, it is better to speak it once than to write it once, and it is better to discuss it once than it is to speak it once. After such a process, I think the exam is a kind of shorthand ability (especially liberal arts), and I have to remember a lot of things in a short time. Knowledge points and good methods can get twice the result with half the effort.
On Thursday, July 20, 1978, the weather was sunny and the heat was scorching. This was my third time entering high school. The examination room is located in Yuhang Middle School, about a kilometer away from my home. It was the place where I went to junior high school, high school and served as an intern. Mr. Xi’s alma mater. Before departure, spread a bamboo mat on the ground at home, let yourself lie on the cold ground, and rest quietly for a while. There are too many questions in your head before the exam, and the answers seem to come out when you are excited. , I know that calmness and composure are necessary. According to regulations, candidates are not allowed to enter the exam room ten minutes after the exam starts, and I was the last one to sneak into the exam room during this ten-minute gap.
Now I have almost forgotten the exam process, but there is one classmate who I will never forget. He was a tall boy sitting in the row in front of me (the first row). He was wearing a military uniform without a collar and cap badge. He was probably famous. veterans. Maybe the soldier's hand has special strength. His pen made a "click-click" sound when it came into contact with the test paper on the table, which was like sending a wireless telegram. This non-stop sound made me upset. I raised my hand to signal to the invigilator. Teacher, I hope this candidate can write a little lighter. It worked a little bit the first time, but within a few minutes, the "tap-tap-tap" sound filled my ears again. When I walked out of the examination room, I asked him with a smile, will your answer to the question in this way break the test paper? He smiled and replied: "It's my habit to write carefully. I can't write without making a sound." With such a rhythm, I actually resisted the "audio interference" and finished one test after another. The last test seemed to be English. Although the English score did not enter the total score, I still entered the examination room. The man sitting in front of me was still the man. The strange thing was that the "click-click" sound from his hand was gone. .The ending bell. As soon as it rang, everyone rushed out of the examination room happily. It seemed that everyone had scored high in the exam. The tight strings finally relaxed. I asked my classmate in the front row how it felt to take the exam. He said, English is so difficult. I can’t write!
The results of my college entrance examination were finally announced. The red list was posted on the street, and passers-by read out the names on the list with envy. My mother was beaming and kept telling people: I am. The ancestors of our Zhou family were the number one scholar. The house we lived in was a "flagpole wall gate". The flagpole in the yard was really high. It was called a scholarly family!
On October 16, 1978, my brother and younger brother Help me carry my luggage and report to the Chinese Department of Hangzhou University.

On October 16, 1978, I reported to the Chinese Department of Hangzhou University. tml3
In front of the administrative building where admission procedures were conducted, I unexpectedly met this fellow candidate who was still wearing military casual clothes. We shook hands excitedly, feeling like we were meeting in Jinggangshan. According to him, our examination room has a high admission rate. , among the 25 candidates, we were admitted to the university (later I learned that the admission ratio for liberal arts in the 1978 College Entrance Examination was 125:1). This dear friend is the 78-level junior college major in the Chinese Department of Hangzhou University. My classmate in the major, his name was Wang Qingping.
I realized my dream and won my mother’s heart. Yes, if my mother hadn’t persuaded me to leave the county troupe when I was in junior high school, I would have persisted. I was not allowed to go to the Daxinganling branch, but I was allowed to attend the first high school class of the "Cultural Revolution" in 1970. If my mother had not earnestly advised me not to go to the military reclamation and farming How could I be a "soldier" in the field and be asked to be a "public substitute teacher"? Six years after graduating from high school, I would be able to walk into the college entrance exam hall with my students! My mother is the most grateful, she often said. : It was Deng Xiaoping’s policy to have a college student in our family.
When I graduated from college, the leader of the department quietly told me to prepare to stay in school and become a teacher. I hesitated for a while, but finally Then I made the decision to give up being a teacher. On the eve of leaving school, I asked Wu Xiong to send a message to my teacher. Teacher Wu said with a smile: Remember Mencius's famous saying, "If you are poor, you can benefit yourself; if you are rich, you can benefit the world." Looking back on it today, I heard it. After listening to my mother’s words and Mr. Wu’s words, Confucianism has influenced me for most of my life, and I’m afraid it will continue to do so for the rest of my life...
[Echo Wall]
Ren Xiaogang : Brother Yu Qiang’s pre-examination experience has been full of twists and turns! The torrent of the era has rolled out a series of strange whirlpools of fate... It’s really amazing
Brother Yu Qiang : Brother Yu Qiang. The teenage experience is full of twists and turns, fascinating, like a very exciting TV series. Judging from his subsequent achievements, it turns out that this solid foundation was laid when he was young. It can be seen that there is no luck in life. People have paid a lot for a long time, so they have gained now!
Jin Jianren : I didn’t expect Brother Yu Qiang to be a true descendant of hundreds of families. It's not surprising that he was a chef, a barber, and a photographer. The most unexpected thing is that he also worked as an actor. If he hadn't been injured, he might have continued to sing until he was old. But Yu Qiang's voice is not very good. The most impressive thing is renting a vegetable garden of 200 to 300 square meters, which is nearly half an acre, and you can grow vegetables for takeout. Envious! Why are you still not full? It seems that the vegetable growing technology is not very good. The most coincidental thing is that he and Wang Qingping were in the same examination room, and they both entered the Chinese Department of Hangzhou University and served as class monitor. If there was no interference from Wang’s heavy handwriting, I might have gone to another university later, and many stories would have to be rewritten.
Qian Zhixi: Monitor Zhou’s experience before going to college is really rich. He has been engaged in in agriculture, business, art, and education. His writing is full of ups and downs, and he writes about his personal destiny from the background of the times. His respect and love for his mother are even more touching! Mother is really great to us. In other words, behind every successful child, there is a good mother. Brother Li Han’s article last time also covered this level. "Once I went to catch fish at the sluice connecting Tiaoxi River to the inland river. The water here is two or three meters deep." Tiaoxi River has always been a poetic existence in my mind. Monitor Zhou’s article suddenly pulled me to its shore. [powerful].
Lu Lihan : Brother Yu Qiang was the first classmate I met when I entered Hangzhou University. On the night of registration, after I got off the bus at Bandaohong, I walked to the Chinese Department of Hangzhou University after asking for directions. I met him in the reception room. I said my background is in the Department of Politics, how do I get there? He was very enthusiastic and said he would take me there, and I thanked him profusely. We walked to the Department of Politics for almost an hour, and we were really exhausted. It turns out the direction is reversed! It was like the two of us went full circle along the route we took for our morning jog. We talked a lot while walking around that night, and I had a deep understanding of his warm-hearted character on the first day of school. [baring teeth].
Jin Shuliang: What I remember is the years, and what I record is history. Brother Yu Qiang used his rich experience and told us how he came from the bumpy road of that era step by step without getting entangled in the pattern of historical accounts. Let us old men and women holding teacups and wine glasses hear and see wonderful true stories of our own.
What scared me the most about him was the description of him being caught for tearing up a large-character poster and taking it home to use as matches. Fortunately, was just regarded as an agent sent by the "Red Storm", and he cleverly escaped from danger. You know, in those days, tearing down big-character posters could be labeled as a "rebel" at any time. Not only will they be locked up in a dark room, they may also be paraded through the streets and criticized. In serious cases, they may even be subject to the "dictatorship of the proletariat."
One of my high school classmates casually wrote the word "knock down" on a cattail leaf fan in the dormitory. Then a classmate who was very alert to the revolution discovered that on the back of "knock down" happened to be the name of a great man. . So he was immediately taken from home and taken to school, where he was imprisoned and criticized. Haha, this matter was not settled until the end of the Cultural Revolution. Brother Yu Qiang is lucky enough to have escaped disaster, and we have such a good squad leader [smile].
Chen Jianxin: I didn’t expect Zhou Yuqiang to be one of ’s five hundred “little teachers” . There are three in our grade, and the other two are Kong Xiaojiong and You Weixiang. But you had a really rich life before the college entrance examination. You worked as an actor and a teacher. This colorful life not only helped you get into college, but also helped you later work in a TV station. It was also an adventure to take the college entrance examination in the same classroom as Wang Qingping. Later he actually became two squad leaders. [snickering].
Zhang Lingyan : can’t imagine that writing is as heavy as texting . How can I finish answering questions in the examination room at that speed?
Lu Lihan : When I read about the candidate in military uniform who sat in front of you during the college entrance examination, I guessed that it might be Wang Qingping. I knew he was from Yuhang. Wang Qingping studied novels of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and had many contacts in the years after graduation.
Zhou Yuqiang : Wang Qingping was a worker at the Hangzhou Radio Factory before the college entrance examination. Because the factory was located in Wenshan, Yuhang, he took the college entrance examination (territorial management) located in Yuhang Town.
Lu Lihan: Brother Yu Qiang is one year older than me. The memories of the difficult years in childhood make me feel the same.. People's communes have become canteens, which means they are not full and hungry. In 1960, my cousin who lived in the same yard was caught secretly eating "rice swill", which caused him to commit suicide by taking poison in shame. At that time, I ate everything, even Guanyin soil. Wild vegetables include: wild sesame, longhair grass, bitter leaf greens, asparagus, etc. The bran cake is very fragrant, but it is not easy to excrete after eating, and it is very troublesome. I witnessed my father suffering from this trouble with my own eyes. On my birthday when I was 7 years old (1960), I always wanted to have a bowl of noodles, dried noodles and the like. But what my mother gave me was a bowl of sorghum dumplings, which was probably the best food in the house. I eat sorghum dumplings occasionally and it feels good. If you eat too much, it won’t taste good. So what we say about eating sorghum dumplings is: the first meal is eaten after closing the door; the second meal is eaten when the door is opened; and the third meal is eaten by others.
Jin Jianren: Zhou Yuqiang is the squad leader, and Chen Yamin is the deputy squad leader. Being the squad leader takes both public and private matters into account, and the working relationship with the deputy squad leader develops into a family relationship. I was a member of the Labor Committee at the time, and I felt strange about some of their actions, but I later understood them. If you are near the water, you should first get the moon. This is human nature and the normal state of the world . However, one time when we were chatting, Yu Qiang denied my credit for being a lightbulb, which made me a little dissatisfied.
Zhang Lingyan : @jinjianren When it comes to light bulbs, I am the one. For a while, Xiao Wu Yu and I were labor committee members of two classes respectively. Weekly hygiene inspections are conducted by me in the second shift, Wu Yu, squad leader Zhou and deputy Chen in the first shift. At first, Sister Yamin, the vice-president of the Chen class, saw me and smiled sheepishly like a deep valley orchid. But not the class leader Zhou. He had a business-like attitude and told me that Wu Yu was too young. The two of us were helping. point. At first, I really thought that the eldest brother and sister felt sorry for little Wu Yu and said it didn't matter. You should just go back and read. Wu Yu, I will help her. Because Wu Yu and I shared a dormitory for a year, we slept on top of each other for two semesters. Wu Yu said that I am a big sister and a good sister. If I bully anyone, I will not bully little Wu Yu, right? But monitor Zhou seemed to be worried about me. From now on, I would check the hygiene every week. My two elder brothers and elder sisters would arrive on time, rain or shine. However, I have never asked for credit for my former light bulb in front of Monitor Zhou. takes credit but is not proud of it. I can do this better than you.
Zhou Yuqiang: Jianren is the labor committee member, and Wu Yu is the life committee member who inspects the dormitory hygiene.
Fang Yixin : @ Lingling Of course you don’t need to take credit for being a light bulb a few times. There are so many people in our class who have been you and built new light bulbs. When did everyone take credit? [snickering].
Zheng Guangxuan: The electricity bill has to be paid. [Laughing]
Fang Yixin: Ah, light bulbs, lighting up others, you have to pay for the electricity. [Laughing through tears]
Zhou Yuqiang : @书jian @李ngling Hahaha, I have never felt that someone is a light bulb for us, and I don’t seem to need a light bulb. As for some people who think they are light bulbs, I have no problem with that. Don’t say I don’t appreciate it. I won’t pay the electricity bill anyway. [Hanxiao][Hanxiao][Hanxiao].
Wu Cuncun: Senior Brother Yu Qiang is our old squad leader and the eldest brother of our third group. I remember when I entered the school, I learned that he had been a middle school teacher. He was versatile, handsome, had strong organizational skills, and liked to joke. He always served as a professional photographer during group activities. us juniors all looked up to him, , and felt ashamed in comparison. , is afraid that if it is too close, it will blind our eyes . Not long after graduation, I learned that he was doing well in the news and television industry and was already in a high position, so I didn't dare to get close to him. The 2012 Shaoxing class reunion was the first time I met him and Senior Sister Yamin after decades of graduation. As a courtesy, I took their car from Hangzhou to Shaoxing and had a pleasant conversation along the way. I was surprised that they had hardly changed. They were still a couple who knew each other and loved each other. I felt very touched and warm. After reading my senior brother's memoirs, I realized that he has also experienced so many difficulties and setbacks. Otherwise, I would have always mistakenly thought that my senior brother was born to be a pampered and pampered son of heaven. [silly laugh].
Shen Lan: Monitor Zhou always looked cheerful in my mind. Unexpectedly, he also experienced many setbacks and hardships. The path to study in that era was really full of ups and downs.Monitor Zhou’s many years of teaching career has also come into play during his four years in college. Monitor Zhou has organized us to go to Qingchunmen Primary School to help children several times. Because of Monitor Zhou’s experience, the children seem to like our . A few years ago, I met Monitor Zhou and Sister Yamin again at the class reunion. When we were taking pictures in front of the library, Monitor Zhou said that he and his eldest sister would take another photo at the same place where they had taken a photo. His tone was full of love, which left a deep impression on me. .

takes a photo with the third-grade students of Qingchun Road Primary School (on the right, Zhou Yuqiang is alone in the last row).
Lu Lihan : @陈兰 I was talking about this with Brother Yu Qiang a few days ago. Our class has been paired with Qingchunmen Primary School for four years. This matter was initiated by squad leader Yu Qiang. For this reason, our class and youth league branch also won the title of Hangzhou Advanced Youth League Branch. Brother Yu Qiang is still in contact with the teachers and students of that primary school class.
Tong Guoliang: @zhouyuqiang. Monitor Zhou led the team and paired up with Qingchunmen Primary School. This was a good job. As the person in charge, you should write down the story completely.
Fang Yixin: Class 1, under the leadership of squad leader Yu Qiang and two league secretaries, paired up with Qingchunmen Primary School to help, and did a very meaningful thing.
Shen Weidong : Monitor Zhou is in our group. During the four years of college, my impression is that he is the eldest brother. He is both the older brother and the leader of the class. He gives instructions on everything. [呲gnath][呲gnath]. After reading the article, I understood the history of squad leader Zhou’s youth struggle. It has the same twists and turns and the same pursuit of progress. I remember that when I was studying, I went to his home in Yuhang with two other classmates. The photo of him playing the violin was taken at his home. Just I don’t remember him talking about his experience in the troupe. [呲ya][naughty].
Cen Baokang : @jinjianren I know about Zhou Yuqiang joining the theater troupe. He once told me that when they were rehearsing "Taking Tiger Mountain by Wisdom", Yang Zirong and Luan Ping confronted each other. One said, "The king of heaven covers the tigers of the earth," and the other replied, "The pagoda suppresses the river demon." One said, "Why are you blushing, and the other One answer was that he was full of energy; logically, the next sentence was, why are you yellow again? Maybe Luan Ping asked on a whim, why are you red again? As expected of Yang Zirong, he returned to the battle calmly, responded calmly, and was full of energy again! [baring teeth].
Fang Qingzhi: Class leader Yu Qiang is gentle and elegant, and speaks in an organized manner. has always been a white-faced scholar. I didn't expect that his life experience since childhood was so rich and tortuous.. As a classmate, my impression of him in college more than 40 years ago seems to be that of Li Yuhe. I wonder if he has become Yang Zirong now? Banner Yu Qiang has a relatively positive personality, so it is easy to think of these two positive characters in the model dramas at that time.
Lin Rouyin: Classmate Zhou Yuqiang’s college entrance examination memories show his twists and turns and wonderful life, especially his experience in literary and artistic work, which is a different kind of life. I am really envious to be able to experience such a life. How difficult life is!
Fang Yixin : Brother Yu Qiang’s reminiscence article before the college entrance examination. The writing is vivid and full of ups and downs. It is like reading a chapter in a novel, which leaves a deep impression. It brought me back to that specific era: 1966, when Brother Yu Qiang graduated from elementary school and I was just in the third grade of elementary school. One day I was walking on the street and suddenly saw "Liu Shaoqi, the biggest capitalist roader in the country." A large slogan with a cross on Liu's name. I was so surprised! Later I learned that the "Cultural Revolution" had begun, which brought great disaster to the Chinese people.
The various experiences described in the article, except for farm work, are mostly things I have never experienced before: doing small jobs, practicing crafts, telling stories, learning musical instruments, and being an actor. The richness of the experiences is breathtaking. In fact, these circumstances and experiences have provided a good footnote for Brother Yu Qiang’s future work and achievements. It can be seen from the article that families with many children in the city (brother Yu Qiang seems to have 5 brothers and sisters) are not rich in life. Fortunately, their children are sensible. For example, brother Yu Qiang is only 12 years old, and he and his brother who are two years older, Renting a vegetable garden to grow vegetables not only ensures food for one's own family, but also secretly sells them to exporters to share the worries of their parents. As the saying goes, "the children of the poor become masters early." In addition, being in danger while fishing or getting bumped while acting were all shocking, but fortunately, they all turned out to be lucky in the end.If you survive a catastrophe, you will surely have good fortune in the future. What do you mean by Qi Yuqiang's brother? Brother Yu Qiang has a good mother, "Listen to your mother and don't let her get hurt." This must be a strong psychological support for Brother Yu Qiang to overcome various difficulties and obstacles.
Lu Lihan : Brother Yu Qiang’s pre-examination experience was full of twists and turns, and he was very lucky to have his mother watch over several major turning points in his life. During my four years of college, Brother Yu Qiang basically gave me haircuts, and he was pretty good! [powerful].
Zhou Yuqiang: My mother is indeed very strict in her upbringing. She is 94 years old and takes care of herself without a nanny. Our children still often obey orders and receive instruction.
Lin Rouyin: I am so lucky to have such a mother.
Zheng Guangxuan : Zhou Gongyu Qiang wrote and read it. Needless to say, the writing style of my old classmate goes without saying. As for his experience, the old man in Russia said this, "Happy families are all similar, and every unhappy family has its own misfortune." Our common saying goes, "Every family has a hard book to recite." From that Our contemporaries who have come a long way have a history of suffering that only they know. The only difference is the way the suffering is presented. Fortunately, Yu Qiang can find joy in suffering, hope in despair, and have direction in twists and turns. Especially with a good mother, she can always give clear advice when he is confused. Not only can he help Zhou Gong finally enter university Help lay the foundation for Zhou Gong's future glory. As the Duke of Zhou, you cannot be without a loving mother at home.
During my college years, I had quite a lot of contact with Zhou Gongyuqiang. Of course, most of them are for the study and work of the grade or class. It is impossible to expose each other as written in the article, and it is impossible to have such in-depth exchanges. I was studying in the Chinese Department, and Zhou Gong’s academic performance was very good. Now I know that he has an effective method of studying for exams that he has summarized . I remember that one year, Chen Jianxin and I also reviewed for the exam together, and the results were good, but it seemed that we were already in third grade at that time. Unlike Zhou Gong Yuqiang, he has always been good at studying and taking exams, so those few "three good students" are reasonable. After graduating from
, Yu Qiang was assigned to the radio and television agency. In the first half of 1983, the Provincial People's Congress moved to Changsheng Road, which was very close to the radio and television. Yu Qiang and Yu Qiang once visited each other to chat about their respective current situations. In the second half of the year, I was transferred to Zhejiang Education Publishing House, and it was difficult to meet Yu Qiang. Later, I could only see Yu Qiang's signature at the end of the TV program and knew that he had arrived at Zhejiang TV Station. Later, I occasionally watched the CCTV National Young Singer TV Grand Prix, and Yu Qiang was already a judge. It seems that during the West Lake Expo held in Hangzhou, Yu Qiang wrote a song about the West Lake, which felt pretty good.
Zhou Yuqiang: I don’t seem to have written a song about the West Lake. As the mission dictated, my masterpiece was left to "Nanhu" in Jiaxing. The song "Red Boat Toward the Future" was selected by ten major ministries and commissions including the Central Propaganda Department and the Central Civilization Office and was selected into the top 100 patriotic songs in the country. There is only one main theme song of this size in Zhejiang.

Chen Jianxin: Zhou Yuqiang became the leader of Zhejiang TV Station, and the rain and dew he spread has also touched my head. One time Yu Qiuyu came on a show. It seemed like it was in the 1990s. Director Zhou invited me to write a line for this talk show. I have never done this thing before, so I did it reluctantly, but Director Zhou didn't think it was cheap and put it to use. Therefore, I met Yu Qiuyu for the only time and asked him to sign copies of "Cultural Journey" that many of my students had. To this day, I still think this collection of essays by Yu Qiuyu is very good. Thank you, Brother Yu Qiang!
Du Wenqing: Needless to say, the old squad leader of our class, Mr. Zhou, is handsome. The main thing is that he has a very good temperament, elegant and gentle, very approachable and very charming as a leader. And the face looks tender and young. I originally thought that the reason why he did not look old was because he had lived a comfortable life since he was a child and had not suffered any hardships. After reading the above article by Squad Leader Zhou, I realized that his journey has also been bumpy. His tortuous experience before the college entrance examination and his career achievements after graduating from college all explain to the world that opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared and those who are talented and talented!
Tong Guoliang: Brother Yu Qiang also had so many misfortunes and sufferings in his youth, but he still worked hard and cultivated the outstanding character of perseverance, kindness, responsibility, studiousness, and outstanding talents, and later created brilliant achievements. While growing up, his mother's guidance and help played a big role. I have also seen Mother Zhou. It was the holiday in May 1980. Li Han, Weidong and I went to Brother Qiang’s hometown in Yuhang. Mother Zhou was very busy and received us warmly and thoughtfully. That year, Yu Qiang's brother's child had just been born. The whole family was immersed in joy, and we were also very happy. The trip to Yuhang left a beautiful and unforgettable impression. Thank you again to Brother Qiang’s mother and family for their warm hospitality!
Zhou Yuqiang : @同国梁 Thank you for your love! We were all very good classmates during college. Without making any assumptions, we invited me to my home in Yuhang. My mother still had an impression of Brother Guoliang’s tall stature and once asked me, where was he assigned to? I said I went to Ningbo Court. This trip was forty-two years ago. Time flies and the memory is still fresh. [Shakes hands] [Silly laugh].
Wu Chaoqian : Memories of Hangzhou University Chinese Class 78 College Entrance Examination come one after another, and scattered fragments constitute a historical picture not far from us. I think Yu Qiang’s article has a strong sense of history and rich information. It faithfully reproduces scenes from more than 40 years ago . Classmate Zhou Yuqiang was suspended during the "Cultural Revolution" after finishing elementary school. He dropped out of school and stayed at home for several years. He almost suffered misfortune because he posted big-character posters, which made him feel very camera-like.
I was in elementary school during the Cultural Revolution, and classes were suspended at that time. There was a special place I loved to go to, and that was Wenzhou’s “Lighted Stadium.” The fight between the two factions in Wenzhou was fierce, but it started as a literary fight. There is a saying that "big-character posters are loud and loud, and there are revolutionary big-character posters." It can be seen that big-character posters are a relatively important position for public opinion. The stadium with lights is overwhelming, plastered all over the two factions. of big-character posters. Whenever I had free time, I would go to the floodlit stadium and read the big-character posters that smelled like ink. In addition to debates on various viewpoints, the content is to expose the political, economic and even life problems of the leading cadres that the other party wants to protect. What’s interesting is that after graduating from college, they were assigned to government agencies, and many of the protagonists of the big-character posters are still working. One of the updates to
's big-character posters is the coverage of the other party's big-character posters. As soon as it was posted, someone was interested in covering it with a new big-character poster, and there was inevitably some tugging and grabbing. One was a rag picker who tore it up and sold it as scrap paper. I wonder if Brother Ru Yuqiang used it as firewood. Big-character posters are also a way to make money. Indeed, as brother Jianxin said, I don't have the business talent of Wenzhou people, otherwise I would have become a famous businessman long ago.
Brother Yu Qiang did not enter junior high school until three years after graduating from primary school. This situation also exists in Wenzhou. Several generations of primary school graduates went to junior high school together, just like more than ten generations of students went to college together after the resumption of the college entrance examination.
No matter how unique the experience is, it is also interesting. When I was in school, the substitute teachers were all third-year high school graduates. After graduating from high school, there are also classmates who work as substitute teachers, basically through their own channels and connections. Wenzhou definitely does not recruit substitute teachers in batches, otherwise it would be possible for me!
admires Mr. Zhou's artistic talent very much. He plays violin and sings dramas, and is a professional actor. But compared to famous actors such as MCA, Xu Min, and Ren Ping in college, you rarely appeared on stage to show off your singing voice! I really hope that there will be a report performance by monitor Zhou at the next grade gathering.
Zhang Lingyan : @武Chaoqian It’s easier for me to read big-character posters than it is for you. When I walked out of my house, I was on the main street of Huangyan County. During that time, I saw the ebb and flow of Red Guards, people picking up rags under the columns of big-character posters, and reading revolutionary slogans. One after another, the radio station on the wall was changed from the People's Broadcasting Station to the Revolutionary Rebellion Broadcasting Station. There are also many model plays, such as "The golden monkey rises up with a mighty stick, and the jade sky clears thousands of miles", "What is tolerable and what is intolerable", and many of the words are either seen from the big-character newspaper columns or heard from the loudspeakers. of.[laughing]
Zhang Lingyan : Zhang Koulin, Xu Xiaohong, Ren Ping, Ni Jimin, He Yifeng, Li Yu, Chen Jianxin, as well as Zhou Yuqiang, Kong Xiaojiong, You Weixiang who are in the "Little Teacher"... I am very I admire you. Many of us take the college entrance examination to change our destiny, and more specifically to find a career. But people like you who have jobs generally don't have to go through such hard work to leave your stable job to study. You I really took the college entrance examination for my hobby. I admire you! [Holding fists].
Chen Jianxin: Those of us who you listed have stable and better jobs, the first seven of us are paid to go to school, only Zhou Yuqiang, Kong Xiaojiong and You Weixiang did not bring , mainly five hundred There is no establishment of "little teachers", resulting in insufficient working experience. In fact, should be paid to study, but it was harmed by the Hangzhou Municipal Education Bureau. It is more difficult for them to pass the exam than for us. After all, they need financial support from their families to study.
Zhou Yuqiang : The Hangzhou Municipal Government only officially confirmed the seniority of 500 primary school teachers in 1984 (calculated from the time of graduation in 1972). However, times have changed and we were not allowed to be paid when we went to college, which obviously caused us a disadvantage!
Zhang Lingyan : @zhouyuqiang If there is a document, will the salary not be repaid?

Zhang Lingyan: What I mean is that the salary can be repaid!
Zhang Lingyan : Oh, it only recognizes seniority, which is the same as educated youth.
Zhou Yuqiang : It’s different. “Young teachers” are paid financial salaries. But we no longer dwell on old accounts.
Zhang Lingyan : Well, it’s amazing to be one of the 500. They were all young talents in Hangzhou back then! [Qiang]
Chen Jianxin: Zhou Yuqiang and I are the same age. We were six or seven years old during the difficult period of three years. When we really need to eat, the experience of being hungry is unforgettable.
Xu Helong: I never expected that a handsome guy like Squad Leader Zhou, with thick eyebrows, big eyes, fair skin and height, had the experience of being hungry ! We never expected that someone like Monitor Zhou, whom we envied and envied back then, had the experience of dropping out of school and worrying about making a living! It shows how unbearable that era was.
Monitor Zhou’s story has twists and turns, ups and downs, and is told in a eloquent way. It not only tells his unique and bumpy life experience, but also summarizes his thoughts and insights on the times and life, which has benefited us a lot. His versatility, outstanding ability, eagerness to learn, self-motivated, and good character are admirable!
I also have two small things that are similar to the experience of monitor Zhou: one is going to the river to fish, and my knee was cut by a plow dropped under the water, leaving a scar that is still there to this day; the other is being a storyteller for the school during elementary school. , telling stories to others has exercised myself. [呲ya].
Zhang Lingyan : When I went to the countryside, I participated in a storyteller training class organized by the county cultural center. After I came back, whenever the brigade held a club meeting, I would go on stage to tell everyone stories. How could I have thought at that time that the story-telling experience in had trained my language expression skills and provided me with great help when I later became a teacher. [snickering].
Xu Helong: When I was a storyteller, I was criticizing Lin Piao and Confucius. I remember there were several stories that satirized Kong Laoer. Now that I think about it, it was disrespectful to the most holy teacher. What a sin! [snickering].
Zhang Lingyan : It was about the same time for me, but the members preferred me to talk about 108 Generals, so I told them about Water Margin. Now that I think about it, I don’t seem to feel guilty about Confucius. At that time, I followed the script and talked about the three major battles of Liao, Shen, Ping, Tianjin, and Huaihai. I was really talking nonsense. [face covering].
Zhu Chengjun: Brother Yu Qiang has an outstanding memory and describes it with delicate brushwork. His childhood experiences have the connotation of a TV series. He is also multi-talented. He can play the piano well and has a good haircut. [powerful].
Wei Ding: Monitor Zhou’s experience before the college entrance examination has many twists and turns, just like a novel. What a rich life. The first place in Yuhang District in the middle school Chinese teacher quality test, there is a clerical error, did not have the Yuhang District at that time, the first place in Yuhang County?
Zhou Yuqiang: At that time, Yuhang County had five districts: Linping, Yuhang, Tangqi, Sandun and Pingyao.I am from Yuhang Town, Yuhang District, Yuhang County. At that time, the administrative divisions were: counties, districts, and towns. In 1977, Yuhang District was a county-owned district.
Shen Weidong : I remember our squad leader Zhou’s former name: Yu Qiang. Is it a kind of commemoration of Yu Hang?
Chen Jianxin: His mother had long believed that her son was the strongest in Yuhang, so she named him Yu Qiang. [snickering].
Zheng Guangxuan: Is the name given by his father a good one? [Laughing]
Fang Yixin : There is a detail that I am curious about. Brother Yu Qiang went to work in a winery. "The foreman gave me a bucket and asked me to go to the canal a hundred meters away to fetch water and collect hundreds of kilograms of river water. Pour it into a large wine vat containing 60-degree liquor and dilute it to about 30 degrees. "Is it possible to sell the wine after diluting it with canal water? [doubt].
Zhou Yuqiang : @方一新 This is how wineries mix river water (tap water) with high-strength liquor. The workers said that liquor can kill bacteria and there will be no problem if you drink it.
Cao Bull: I was at the commune winery and watched workers mix well water with freshly squeezed wine (about 80 to 90 degrees). While mixing, they used something like a thermometer to measure the temperature. When the temperature was about 60 degrees, it was considered good. .
Zhou Yuqiang : @Cao BuLa This is how it works. Because the meter is more valuable, the water bearer is not allowed to use it. I test it with my tongue first. If it is almost done, the master will confirm it with the meter.
Fang Yixin : It seems that it is common practice for high-quality liquor to be blended with water, which I find strange. Well, it’s safest to drink boiled water. [snickering].
