He was the founding emperor of Korea, but he was a puppet of the Japanese throughout his life.
In 1907, because of the secret history incident in The Hague, he offended Japan and was forced to abdicate.

Not four days after he abdicated, Japan forced the superior Junjong to sign the " Japan-Korea Merger Treaty ", and South Korea has since become a Japanese colony.

Before she was born, the Korean Empire ceased to exist and was firmly controlled by Japan.

Before Dehui, Emperor Tai had four daughters, but they all died at a young age due to illness, poisoning and other factors.

Dehui has been loved like never before, and even with her birth mother who was a palace maid, her status has risen and her status has risen and become a nobleman.
The uncle who was a butcher also put on an official gown and transformed himself into an official.
It is difficult to use simple words to describe the emperor's love for Dehui.
He gave almost everything he could.

In the fifty days after Dehui was born, he broke the regulations and asked Dehui to move to his bedroom.
When Dehui was five years old, he built a kindergarten for Dehui for the first time in a place 150 meters away from the palace.

The emperor invited a Japanese teacher for Dehui, and worried that Dehui was alone, so he brought many ministers' daughters to go to school with her.
These children have been very respectful towards Dehui since childhood, so Dehui has the concept of status and inferiority at a young age.
As time passed, Dehui Weng Master slowly grew up to the age of primary school.
She can't go to elementary school because Japan has not recognized Dehui as a child of the royal family.
They said that Japan believes in monogamy and Dehui is the daughter of concubine.

But in fact, these are all high-sounding Japanese rhetoric.
Their purpose is to completely cut off the blood of the Korean royal family.
The Emperor Tai specially invited the governor (the highest official in Korea during the Japanese rule in Korea) to the kindergarten, pointed to the smiling girl inside and said that this is his cute little daughter.
The words are all on the bright side. The Japanese have to admit that Wengzhu Dehui is the emperor's daughter, and let her go to the hukou.
Her life should have been escorted by her father, safe and smooth.
But the sudden death of Emperor Tai completely broke this illusion of peace.
Dangerous Japan
When Dehui Wengzhu was eight years old, Emperor Tai began to worry that Dehui would be taken away by Japan and become a hostage like his own son when he grew up.

He secretly contacted his close associates, and signed a marriage contract between Dehui and his close nephew, in an attempt to retain his daughter through marriage.
But after the marriage contract, the Emperor Tai was still scared. He was getting older and older, and Japan was watching.
How many years can he protect his daughter?
Never underestimate a father's determination to protect his daughter.
The Tai Emperor silently prepares the restoration plan, and he is about to succeed!
On January 29, 1919, Emperor Tai suddenly passed away in Deoksugung Palace in .
Because of his sudden death, everyone has different opinions on the reason for his death.
It is more reliable that Japan sent people to poison the Emperor Tai.
Since then, Dehui Wengzhu lost her father forever, and her unfortunate life began.

At that time, Weng Lord Dehui did not have a name. The name Dehui was given by Chunzong in 1921.
The daughters born out of South Korea are called Wengzhu.
In 1922, Lord Dehui entered the Hinode Elementary School established in Japan.
In 1925, what the Emperor Tai was worried about happened.
Japan asked Dehui Weng to go to Japan to study on the grounds that South Korea could not teach the emperor.
Japan almost forced Junzong to give this decree.
On March 25, under the perseverance of his relatives, the 13-year-old Dehui Wengzhu alone boarded a steamer to Japan, and arrived five days later.
Her elder brother, who is hostage in Japan, the king of the British clan Li Yin , and his wife Li Fangzi greet the master Deweng at the dock.
In the memoirs after Li Fangzi, she once described her first meeting with Dehui Wengzhu.

Li Fangzi was particularly worried about Dehui Weng Lord.
She asked her husband and Japan to apply to allow Dehui Weng Lord to live at home during school, but was rejected by the Japanese government.

The children of the Japanese royal family and high-ranking nobles all go to school here, and the Japanese side does not treat the master Dehui in terms of food, clothing, and learning.

But the spirit of Dehui Wengzhude is still weakening.
She is worried that she will be poisoned like her father, so she only uses a thermos to drink water every day.

On May 30, 1929, Dehui Wengzhu's biological mother died of breast cancer.

When Li Fangzi came to the dock to pick up Dehui again, she found that Weng Master Dehui's expression was slightly demented.
I can't see sadness, and occasionally neurotic nonsense in the middle of the night.
Li Fangzi called a doctor for Dehui Weng Master.
After a careful examination, it was confirmed that Dehui Weng was suffering from dementia .

But when she was in the most serious condition, the Japanese government even issued a new order requiring Lord Weng Dehui to marry a Japanese.
The forced marriage
Let’s not mention that Deokhye had a marriage contract in Korea before.
With this disease alone, she cannot be a wife for anyone.
Faced with tough Japan, the opposition of King Yingzong seemed so weak.
They once again succumbed to Japan's prostitution, and Dehui Wengzhu's marriage partner began to be selected.
First of all, they excluded the heirs of the surname Li who had a blood relationship with Wengzhu Dehui.
There is also the prince of Japan.
In patriarchal Japan, there are still men who have been divorced due to mental illness.
Not to mention the silly Weng Master Dehui, who will definitely be gnawed away.
In 1930, Li Fangzi got the news in advance.

Wengzhu Dehui's bridegroom turned out to be a short boy with a slanted face and only one eye.

The Japanese government bestowed the marriage of Dehui Wengzhu, the son of the former Majima lord Zongwuzhi.

In response to this, her resistance was to lock herself in the room for four days, without dripping water, just sitting there and crying.
But her resistance is useless.

Li Fangzi cried and sent Lord Dehui Weng to marry.
The only thing they can rest assured is that Zong Wuzhi is not as ugly as the rumors, his mouth is slanted and his eyes are slanted.
He is very decent, four years older than Dehui Wengzhu.
My parents have passed away long ago. They formally inherited the family and earl titles in 1923. At that time, I was studying in the English Department of the University of Tokyo.
They held a wedding at the Sutak Residence in Tokyo.
After marriage, Zong Wuzhi treated Dehui Wengzhu very well, and the two had a peaceful life.
Dehui's condition has not relapsed, and he has completed his studies and received his graduation certificate.
But the good times did not last long. On August 14, 1932, Wengzhu Dehui gave birth to a girl, named Zhenghui.
At the same time, she suffered from postpartum depression, which directly caused the recurrence of schizophrenia and started long-term treatment.

For more than ten years, Zong Wuzhi’s growth and Dehui’s medical expenses were all in charge of Zong Wuzhi.
With the Japanese surrender of in 1945, was taken over by the US military and government.
One year later, the US government reduced most of the former nobles to civilians.
Dehui Wengzhu and Zong Wuzhi are among them,This has caused their quality of life to drop across a wide range.
Zong Wuzhi was unable to pay for the home expenses of Wengzhu Dehui, so she had to be admitted to a mental hospital.

Just when Lord Dehui thought that he would never escape the prison of Japan for the rest of his life, he had the opportunity to return to China.

Finally returned to China
Lord Dehui who lives in the hospital did not know that earth-shaking changes had taken place outside.

Her hometown, the Korean Empire, split into two countries, and the country was devastated by war.
In 1951, due to the death of Queen David of Japan who advocated the marriage of Wengzhu Dehui and Takeshi Zong, in 1955, King Yingzong and Fangzi Li asked the Japanese government for Wengzhu Dehui to divorce.
The Japanese government is not as arrogant as it used to be, and has agreed to King Yingzong's request.
Dehui Wengzhu became single again and was taken care of by Li Fangzi.
In the same year, her daughter Zhenghui married her university teacher.
Three months after marriage, Zhenghui left a suicide note and disappeared in the Alps.
People found her body not long after.
After the divorce, Zong Wuzhi quickly married another Japanese woman.

Prior to this, he had not communicated with Dehui Wengzhu for nearly ten years.

This pair of husbands and wives who should have been the closest has been strangers for a long time.

Li Fangzi uses Dehui's mother's surname to establish a household registration of "Yang Dehui".
Her condition has not improved, even after her daughter's death, there is a tendency to become more serious, and she can only live in Songze Hospital all day.
The doctor here took care of her carefully and lived here for fifteen years in a daze.
The South Korean president at the time, fearing that Deokhye would have a negative impact on his political status after returning to China, he did not allow her to return.
The Korean people have gradually forgotten that in far away Japan, there is the last South Korean emperor.
In 1950, Kim Eulhan, who was a special commissioner in Tokyo, visited Lord Deokhye.

He looked at Lord Dehui and couldn't help crying:
"If Emperor Tai saw this. How distressed he would be."

In 1961, Kim Eul-han visited Park Jung-hee , who was the president of South Korea at the time, and told him about Deokhye Ong.
Park Jeong-hee was shocked, and immediately started the work of returning home from Lord Deokhye and King Yeongjong.
In 1962, amidst cheers, Deokhye, who had been imprisoned by Japan for 38 years, finally set foot on the land of South Korea.
At this time, she is completely tortured by aphasia and schizophrenia.
She can't recognize anything, nor can she say it.

After returning to China, Lord Dehui could not recognize the people around him.
But the magic is that after she returned to the Changdeokgung Palace , she recovered some memories and performed royal courtesies to Queen Chunxiao.
Facing the junior kowtow to herself, she accepted this greeting. After
, Lord Deokhye stayed in Leshanjae in Changdeokgung Palace, and received treatment from Seoul National University .
In the second year, the Prince of England took his wife Li Fangzi back to China, but he was paralyzed and died soon after.
Li Fangzi also moved to Leshanzhai to live with Dehui.
In the 1970s, her ex-husband, Zong Wuzhi, came to Korea to see Dehui.

Follow-up
Dehui's condition did not improve. For the next 27 years, she has been living here without going anywhere.
According to the court lady who took care of her, Dehui would only call her daughter's name like a sudden awakening at the turn of the seasons, and burst into tears.
In her later years, she occasionally awake, and she always writes some words when she is awake.
One of the most famous and widely circulated is that she wrote shortly before her death:
“ I want to live in Leshanzhai for a long time
I miss His Royal Highness and the princess
The Korean Empire,My forever home "
This passage is very brief, but it reveals the simplest extravagance of the wandering Lord Dehui.

Seven days after her death, Li Fangzi, who had been taking care of her, also left.
Later, on June 24, 2015, the Japanese Cultural Costume Museum and the Korean Cultural Heritage Office in Japan Signed an agreement of understanding.
The Japanese side returned seven pieces of clothing left by the Lord Dehui when he lived here for the study of the Korean Cultural Park.
These clothing items have been returned to the country for 50 years in Dehui. It was exhibited in the museum at the 100th anniversary of his birth.
There are skirts worn by Mr. Dehui when she was a child, and the dowry she wore when she was married, etc.
Many people said that Mr. Dehui used to be a young man. Participated in the independence movement.
Of course, a princess must live this life vigorously and lead the liberation of the Korean people.
But when we take a closer look at Deokhye's life.
